Not SSO related, but as a person who's slowly dipping their toes back into the horse world, it's INSANE to me how horses are treated so differently based on their sex. Like, I feel like I've started to get so desensitized to the hate for mares that I had to take a moment after watching pretty much a "mare appreciated post" on tiktok to be like,,,, hold on a second, that's right. The majority of riders think mares are evil. And I don't get why???

Sure, geldings are more mild, but I feel that mares communicate so much better about what you need to work on as a rider and will let you know how they are feeling. Idk, maybe I'm biased because I haven't ridden a "truly evil mare", but out of every mare I've ridden vs gelding, mares are so much more eager to work with you if you just listen to them.

And I feel like every time I've seen a mare act out and try to bolt, it's a fault to the owner/trainer not communicating properly with their horse, so their only way to try to get across what they need is to act out.
