If you ever feel dim. Don't worry. I set off the security alarms trying to open up the office building. Because i was tapping the fob on the aircon/electric unit and NOT the security alarm deactivator

I hummed my little tune as I made my way down the cracked and broken street, tall hedges to my side, the sky grey and murky likely rain to come in the next few hours or so. I turned the corner and saw the first of the defences the tall chickenwire-like fence with the car blockade and small security hut where a man sat I approached and gave him a gentle wave, he looked up a doughnut in hand and nodded allowing me through the smaller side, I followed the painted white line along the edge of the fence I spotted another walkway on the other side then another fence and some people playing some kind of ball game not sure what all of them noticed me immediately and began to shout in my direction but I ignored them continuing on till I reached the main entrance to the building I pressed the button the door unlocking and I stepped inside stopping by the locked door in front of me. I waited a moment fixing my bag a little before the buzzer went off and the door in front of me unlocked so I went in still following the painted white line quickly reaching the office where a few guards sat with coffee.
"Good Afternoon" I smiled
"Ahh afternoon, Y/l/n isn't it?"
"That's me" I nodded
"Just a sec," he says rolling on his chair to grab some paperwork "Here for Murry aren't you?"
"Yes I am" I smiled
"He's already bouncing around the waiting room"
"I can imagine so" I giggled
"Right, usual business initial, date, sign, then in the book name, date, time" he explained putting a large book in front of me as well as a whole bunch of paperwork but I had been through this enough. Most of it was just the basic paperwork of you understand where you're going, that it could be dangerous, that guards will do their best to help you but you know don't be a dumb ass sort of paperwork. Once all that was done they took me through to a small room they locked my bag in a locker and the guard kept the key, they scanned me with a metal detector and I even got a pat down before he led me through on the white line path out the back of the building. The fence was tall and thick, littered with temporary outbuildings he led me through various gates until we reached a door. He opened it up and I headed inside stopping before another door, he then locked the door behind me I waited a moment until the door in front of me unlocked letting me inside the small room. The room had a bed, a sofa, a soft plush carpet, no windows and a few little lights. And of course, the most noticeable element of the room was Jake.
Jake stood in the middle of the room, in old Nike shoes, his grey sweatpants, a long sleeve shirt with a white torso and green sleeves that he had rolled to his elbows, his hair still a little damp where he must have been fresh out a shower. He stopped short as he saw me his eyes wide and his side erupted across his face.
without another word, he bolted over closing the gap between us and pulling me tightly to his chest his hands on my cheeks pulling my face to his and kissing me intensely I happily kissed him back our kisses so very intense and passionate until he finally pulled back
"I've missed you so badly" He gasped
"I've missed you too" I smiled "I only saw you a few days ago"
"I know, but we haven't been alone in a room for six months. I am overwhelmed with feelings right now"
"Awwww that's so sweet Jake" I giggled
"I'm not gonna lie the dress isn't helping" he says unable to look at my eyes staring completely at the cleavage of my little blue dress
"I thought you'd like my dress" I giggled
"I do, I really do. But again I haven't been alone with you for six months and I share a room with a murderer. This…. Is fucking fantastic" he smirked his hands unable to stop making a grabby action only inches from my breasts
"Awww my eyes are up here Jake"
"I'm sorry"
"It's fine, you really are excited for our visit" I giggled giving his cheek a kiss and heading into the room to get comfy "I didn't think you'd be so jumpy, given what I sent you"
"Ummmm don't remind me darling! Your beautiful pictures line the wall of my bunk, and those special ones live under my pillow" he explained as he came and sat with me
"Awww"
"I very nearly exploded when I opened the letter, I certainly made a mess of the sink" he blushed
"I figured you'd like it"
"I couldn't help myself, you looked so beautiful in that little nightie. I can't wait till I can come home and really see you dressed like that on our bed"
"Soon"
"I hope so, you have no idea how much I've missed you, your smell, your skin, your lips… and other such places"
"Ohh? Well I suppose it is visiting time" I smiled setting my hand on his thigh
"Nope" he says moving my hand
"What? I'm very confused here Jake?"
"Have. Not. Been. Alone. Six. Months. Remember. And you've already brushed up against it three times honestly…. I was in a hair trigger before you even got here. Anything more then a kiss I am making a mess of these sweatpants"
"Ohhh you poor thing" I cooed pulling him into a cuddle
"Ummmmmmm" he smiled happily "besides we can do anything"
"Why not?"
"They took condoms out the rooms"
"Why?"
"Someone got mad about his child support payments and used a condom from the box to try and suffocate his lawyer"
"Ohh… that's fair they are kinda dangerous"
"Yeah, he's nuts. We're not even allowed sporks anymore because of him! I miss sporks"
"How do you eat food then?"
"You know those tiny little cardboard spoons you get in the lid of cheap ice cream?"
"Yeah"
"Thats how"
"Aww my poor baby" I smiled hugging him tighter
"Ummmm… too close!" He says quickly moving
"Aww you really are struggling aren't you?"
"I'm doing my best. Doesn't help my cell Mates been in the cell alot I haven't had any time on my own to… deal with things. Sometimes I honestly think about starting something just to get thrown in solitary a while atleast I'm on my own and I can cum"
"Well as it is visiting?"
"Can't I'm on such a short fuse I don't trust myself pulling out. And I've missed you so much I don't think I'll want to. And I can't accidentally knock you up while I'm in here that's horrid"
"Alright, then how about something else."
"Like?"
I smirked and glanced down to his sweatpants "something to give my sweet boy some bragging rights" I giggled nuzzling into his neck
"Uuuuuuuhhh are you serious?"
"If that will make you happy?"
"Are you kidding! Of course! Last guy got his girlfriend to do that got special treatment for a month!"
"Alright get comfy then"
"Yes! Yes! Yes!" He smiled excitedly getting comfortable so I moved to my knees and have his legs some little kisses before I took the elastic of his sweatpants down enough to reveal his tight blue boxers and the obvious desperate erection within, I quickly tugged those down to and immediately giggled as I saw him, so hard, precum leaking from his head, his veins prominent where he hasn't been able to get what he needs
"Awwww my poor boy" I cooed pressing kisses up his shaft immediately he bit his lip his head rolling back his hands gripping the sofa like a bird's tallons, "already?"
"I honestly don't think I'm gonna last that long"
"Aww that's okay Jake, I'll make sure you get what you need" I smirked wasting no time taking him Into my mouth and moving fast gently sucking doing all the little things I knew he adores his sounds fueled me as he utterly lost his rational mind an utter slave to the pleasure I gave him for a moment he glanced down at me and began to slowly buck his hips
"Fuck you look so beautiful down there. Ummm I'd sell my fucking soul for you! God damn it id let them lock me up for another ten years just to get inside you my darling! Ughhhh - uuuuuuuhhh!" He moans loudly finishing into my mouth I did my best to swallow everything but there was an awful lot so I ended up having to wipe my mouth a few times
"Feel better now Jake?"
"Ummm humm" he nods barely able to down words "I love you so much"
"I love you too" I smiled
"Can I uhhh can I ask something?"
"Alright"
"Could maybe…. Please?" He whines looking at my chest
I giggled and moved to sit on his thighs and immediately his hands came and cupped my breasts
"Ohhhh my god your not wearing a bra"
"Took you long enough"
"Ohhh my god! Ughhh uuuuuuuhhh fuck" he groans squeezing fondling feeling the weight of my breasts in his hands while he kissed my neck until he suddenly stopped moving his hands to my waist "I'm sorry -"
"For what?"
"I may have just uhhh…. Made a mess up the back of your dress"
"Jake!"
"Sorry!"
"It's fine my poor little prisoner boy" I giggled giving his cheek a kiss

Chapter Six:
Captain's log: Stardate 1510.2, we have completed repairs at Starbase Twelve and are finally making our way towards the Beta Quadrant. Our next task is to collect Special Ambassador Robert Fox, an experienced diplomat and Starfleet negotiator, who will be assisting us on our mission to Valaar. Once aboard, I can begin briefing him and the rest of the team on our next course of action. All being well, we'll arrive at the Beta Quadrant on time and ready for action.
Captain Pike looked up as an alarm whistled out of the communication section. "Captain, the Constellation is hailing us…" Cadet Uhura readied her console for the Captain's inevitable command.
"On screen Cadet…" The main viewing screen hummed and shifted until an image of Captain Matt Decker came into view. Both Captain's acknowledged each other for a moment and smiled.
"Matt… well this is a pleasant surprise, there's me thinking you'd be too busy to check in on little old Enterprise…" Captain Pike and Captain Decker knew each other from way back when and always shared an easy rapport.
"Well someone should be keeping an eye on you… no, I hope you don't mind the intrusion, Commodore Locke told me you were visiting Starbase Twelve, I'm sorry I couldn't have stuck around…" Captain Decker shrugged but his manner remained urgent.
"No worries Matt, how are things on the Constellation? That's a mighty fine ship…" Captain Decker softened for a moment as he looked fondly around his own Bridge.
"That she is Chris, but look I didn't just want to shoot the breeze. We've just passed through the Beta Quadrant as we were tasked with finding a missing supply ship - I believe Commodore Locke told you?" Captain pike nodded though he developed a sinking feeling in the pit of his stomach.
"Yeah, well… it's been destroyed. Our long range sensors picked up debris and radiation before we even stepped foot in the sector. I've sent the data onto headquarters but it'll take time to reach them." A thought then occurred to Captain Pike.
"What about a recorder marker? They might have jettisoned information about what hit them?" Captain Decker nodded in agreement.
"We managed to pull in a recording device of some kind but it's heavily damaged. My Chief Engineer is taking a look at it as we speak but they're not hopeful." Now came the question Captain Pike dreaded asking.
"Any guesses at what might have happened? How's the Quadrant looking generally?" Captain Decker raised his open palms in defeat.
"That's just it Chris, the Quadrant's as quiet as a grave." Captain Pike didn't appreciate such a description. "As you know, only two of the five planets in the system are inhabited, with Valaar having the only spacefaring civilisation. We tried hailing them, three times in fact, but they ignored us." The same as usual then, Captain Pike thought wearily.
"However, one thing we didn't expect was the force of their planetary defences… their shields snapped on almost immediately and messed with our comms something terrible. I don't know Chris, something's up though it's hard to imagine what. But if that's the kind of shields they have, I'd hate to fathom their other defences…" Captain Pike furrowed his brow.
"Are you saying you suspect it was Valaar who blew up the ship?" It was a hell of an accusation, and though Captain Decker was at times a fanciful man, he was serious when it came to his duties.
"Well, they're the only planet around with such capabilities - I doubt the Klingons would have ventured out this far when their sensors would have given them the information needed for their patrols. The same goes for the Romulans. And now that the Valaarians are refusing all contact, it makes sense that their aggressiveness could extend to attacking any unwelcome vessels." Captain Pike shook his head, it was still a big assumption considering the lack of evidence.
"Well did you pick up anything else, any strange energy signatures or warp trails?" Captain Decker raised his hand to halt the direction of the conversation.
"Before Valaar's shields snapped on, we read a higher energy output from the planet, we tried to sample the interplanetary communications network but we weren't fast enough." Dammit, thought Captain Pike, if they'd got that information, Enterprise's mission would have been made a lot easier.
"Captain, Outpost 5 is hailing us…" Cadet Uhura piped up quietly from her station, loathe to disrupt the two Captains from their conversation.
"Alright Matt, we've gotta run. Safe travels, and if you can message me whatever you find out from the recorder marker, it would sure make our own investigations a lot easier." Captain Decker nodded and smiled.
"Will do Chris, and best of luck - something tells me you're going to need it." Captain Decker signed off before Captain Pike could respond. Instead, a voice could now be heard over the PA.
"Captain Pike I presume? This is Special Ambassador Fox, requesting permission to board at your earliest convenience." The man's voice was hard and already putting Captain Pike on edge.
"Transporter Room, one to beam up on the following coordinates." The Captain signalled for Cadet Uhura to relay the numbers to Lt. Kyle.
"Lt. Kyle here sir, Special Ambassador Fox is aboard." Even the Transporter Chief's voice was uneasy.
"Good. Tell him to wait there, I'm on my way. Ortega's you have the con, Spock you're with me." The tall Vulcan swept after the Captain and into the turbo lift.
Briefing Room two:
"Look Lieutenant, I know this isn't easy, but it's important we get this right. This information isn't just for my benefit but for the Ambassador as well. Our briefing's in two hours… if we get this wrong he'll have the Captain's head." Lt. Kirk sighed as he picked up his data slate and pen. He'd spent the last half an hour with Lt. Ne-Lahn trying to better understand Valaarian customs in the event they'd grant an audience with Captain Pike.
"Lieutenant, as I've already explained, Valaar will not even acknowledge Enterprise's entry into the system. No meeting with the Captain and crew will take place, I assure you." Lt. Ne-Lahn crossed her arms, this being the second time she had to explain herself.
"Whether they do or don't is immaterial at this point, if I don't have this information for the Captain's disposal anyway, then we won't be prepared for all eventualities. Surely you can see the logic in that?" Lt. Kirk smiled as she sighed, he found the key to dealing with Valaarians was much the same as how he dealt with Lt. Spock.
"Fine… upon meeting Valaarians for the first time, one must make direct eye contact and keep hands behind backs…" Lt. Kirk looked up from his note taking and wondered if the Lieutenant was pulling his leg.
"What? Secondly, one doesn't speak unless spoken to. Valaarians usually begin by saying: 'Denemaht - that means stranger - you are here, how do you respond?' One answers by saying: 'We respond by extending our greetings to you and request a conference.'" Lt. Kirk hurriedly wrote down the Lieutenant's recommendations though he wondered at how formal Captain Pike would manage to remain.
"Thirdly, only address the Valaarian speaking to you, and if you have a question for anyone else, it must be requested from the rest of the group. Do not turn your back on a Valaarian at any point, nor offer handshakes, humour, or colloquial speech. We also confer standing and don't appreciate anyone shuffling on their feet." Lt. Kirk smiled at that last point.
"No one acting as though they've ants in their pants… got it." The Lieutenant looked at him confused but decided not to question him, humans and their turns of speech only bewildered her, especially when explained further.
"Another thing Lieutenant… it would be better you assign a female to head any landing party or act as speaker for the group. Females are the main authority figures on my planet and they may not respond well to the Captain… despite his overall geniality." Lt. Kirk shook his head and laughed.
"You want me to recommend that the Captain hang back? I'm not sure he'll take to that Lieutenant… he is the Captain after all. Besides who exactly would you recommend to take his place?" Lt. Kirk gave her a knowing smile, knowing all too well her burgeoning friendship with Una.
"Number One is first officer and also a woman. Therefore she would be the logical choice." Lt. Ne-Lahn sniffed as she straightened her tunic. Her friendship with Una notwithstanding, she was the most obvious choice to lead any delegation.
"Well, I'll be sure to make a note of it… but where will that leave the Ambassador, he won't appreciate being told to keep his mouth shut for the duration of any negotiations…" Lt. Kirk had a point but if they wanted the mission to work, it had to be on the Valaarian's terms and no one else's.
"Nonetheless Lieutenant, that is what must happen and why I intend to recommend another course of action to the captain…" Lt. Kirk considered her for a few moments. She certainly was beautiful, even if she was a little forthright in her manner.
"What do you mean? Starfleet has made it clear we establish diplomatic relations… how else do we achieve that other than by making direct contact?" Lt. Ne-Lahn noticed him staring at her closely and brushed it off as nothing more than professional engrossment in their task.
"Good afternoon folks, sorry to just barge in, but the Special Ambassador has come aboard and is eager to get started…" Captain Pike swept into the room with a harried look and a bemused looking Lt. Spock and Cadet Uhura trailing after him. Lt. Ne-Lahn's face fell as it appeared Una wouldn't be joining them but sure enough, she sauntered into the room, already engrossed in a data slate. The women's eyes met and they smiled softly at each other. Something which didn't go unnoticed by Lt. Kirk. "Now I know you won't have finished your reports… nonetheless, let's see what we're working with and begin formulating a plan, we intend to make contact with Valaar at the beginning of next week."
The Captain took a seat at the head of the table, with both Lt. Spock and Number One flanking his sides. He waited for everyone to get settled before requesting the group sound off their names and introduce themselves. Special Ambassador Fox looked disinterested until his eyes alighted on Lt. Ne-Lahn. Clearly, this was the first time he'd ever met a Valaarian.
"Ok folks, now that's out of the way I'm going to start by outlining our mission. Nothing too heavy, I'll save that pleasure for Lt. Kirk, our leading Xenoanthropologist…" Laughter coursed around the table, excluding Lt. Spock and Lt. Ne-Lahn, who didn't know what was so funny. "Our mission is, in essence, a simple one. For years now Starfleet has been determined to initiate diplomatic relations with the fourth planet in the Betazine System; a class M planetoid named Valaar. Little is known about the planet beyond what our own readings can tell us. However, it is vital we extend our greetings and offer an invitation to join the federation. I make no bones about this offer also being political in nature. With the Klingon Empire expanding and Valaar owing allegiance to no one, they would make a valuable ally. Any questions so far?" Everyone around the table shook their heads. "Alright, Lt. Kirk, I'll hand over to you." The Lieutenant cleared his throat and smiled, public speaking clearly not his favourite pastime.
"Ok well, thanks to my conversations with Lt. Ne-Lahn, who will be giving her own report shortly, I can disclose that Valaar is mainly a matriarchal, caste based society of humanoid species, with advanced spacefaring and warp capabilities. They value home world over off world advancement however and place a particularly high value on the scientific study of the natural world. Although vast regions remain unpopulated due to dense forestation, most of the northern equator is inhabited by large, self-sufficient conurbations. This northern region is still believed to be dominated by a two party political system that is apparently heavily divided on the future of their civilsation. One side, the Vrenekars, favour overall advancement in all aspects of Valaarian life. The Domushin, who are also currently in power, favour upholding and reaffirming more traditional values. There is a third movement, the Fontark, who propose total recreation of Valaarian society from the ground up. They're made up of mostly lower caste and disenfranchised groups."
Of course, it wasn't clear whether either power was still in charge, this was simply the last information Lt. Ne-Lahn had upon leaving the planet for Starfleet. Without access to new data, this was the best Enterprise could do to prepare themselves for such a venture. Though Lt. Ne-Lahn suspected it wouldn't be enough. At that moment the comm panel whistled with an incoming message.
"Cadet Turnbull sir, we're getting readings of an ion storm approaching dead ahead. Are we to maintain course?" It was the last news the Captain needed to hear. Ion storms were immensely dangerous for both ship and crew, and are normally given a wide berth if at all possible. Captain Pike thumbed the table console in response.
"Negative Cadet, change course to heading 111-mark-017. On the double." Special Ambassador Fox looked up in alarm.
"Forgive me Captain, but we're on an exceptionally tight schedule. Do you intend to delay us by averting the storm?" The Captain sighed, his warnings about Special Ambassador Fox being a difficult man at times, appearing to prove correct.
"I'm sorry Ambassador, but we hardly have a choice. If we're to begin the mission in one piece, it's better that we skirt around the storm altogether. It should take no more than an additional 72 hours to reach the Betazine system." The Ambassador's face became a picture of rage. He reached over and pressed a button on the comms console.
"Belay that order Helm, we are to continue on course." Helm gave no reply as if awaiting further communication from Captain Pike. This however would take a moment as both he, and indeed the rest of the crew in the briefing room, stared at the Ambassador in shock.

Humans are Space Orcs
Part 2
When Major Kovac returned to the accommodation his mercenary unit the "Dark Horses" were currently occupying his injuries, the attack by the Flet and his survival via an item of fruit seemed for some reason to cause a broad range of reactions.
His lover Captain Becca first looked nauseated when seeing him bleeding, then embraced him fiercely and then slapped him for getting hurt.
Captain Wolf seemed shocked more that Kovac was slowed by his blood loss than that he had overcome three "winged fucking puma" before joining in with Captain Dorman who both laughed and mocked while Kovac's wounds were cleaned, sterilized and dressed - this appeared to be a painful process.
Captain Gillespie was concerned for the safety of the Major and the rest of the unit.
Various riflemen in Kovac's service took moments to visit their commander and confirm he was ok, some like Knickers and Sergeant "Panther" both spoke of seeking immediate vengeance, others wanted to know how soon he would recover. Different human responses to the same event is something I've never fully understood.
Finally Kovac called a meeting of his commissioned officers. I was allowed along to witness.
"So if it's not personal and Kovac is adamant he hasn't stuck his bellend in a Flet, it can't be to stop us taking a contract as we have one lined up it must be professional, something from back in the day." Captain Becca said.
"That is a lot of history, we all served together in the United Nations Galactic Defence Force, the Galactic Defence Force and we've had 3 years as the Dark Horses, I can count a dozen conflicts with the Flet as primary antagonists and perhaps another dozen where they've been involved to some degree." Wolf looked at Kovac, "brother I love you but you picked a few fights in your time."
Captain Dorman shook his head, "It could be any of us or all of us, take out the Major and we're gonna find ourselves rudderless, we need to find an answer."
"If we are all at risk we need to look to our defences and I hate to say it but my troops are the weak link, medics are good soldiers but they aren't combat specialists like the rest of you, neither are the rest of my troop." Captain Gillespie gave a sigh, "we may have to confine them to lines."
"Good point Gillie, Bex 2 troop are gonna be in charge of keeping 4 troop safe; Dorman 3 troop sweep the lines, find any weak links, Wolf the whole of 1 troop are now on guard duty, have a roster drawn up and let the sergeants work out a routine between the troops." Kovac looked at his officers, "nobody goes off base alone, we travel in fire teams at least."
"Alright, and the Major has two guards at all times, I'm pretty sure I have the volunteers," said Becca, her tone brooking no argument.
An hour later Kovac was sitting in a chair facing an irate Becca flanked by the raw-boned, taciturn Knickers and the vociferous Cassidy, better known as Barbie his body guard.
"No, damn it Rad you're injured, you're not going out as bait now; or ever!" Becca said, her voice shaking.
"Im not waiting for them to come here, besides this time I'll have Knickers and Barbie watching my back," Kovac said calmly.
"Hey now Captain, I know you're worried but it may have all been a case of mistaken identity, perhaps they never wanted the Major." Barbie suggested, smiling sweetly.
"Yeah they no doubt saw him, and thought 'Oh hey, that 6'6" human built like a brick-proverbial with the white hair of an octogenarian he's close enough to our target' the Major is pretty damn unique looking." Knickers said with her usuall ascerbic tone.
The two women shared a glare as Kovac laughed, "look I trust these two with my life, more importantly I trust them with each other's lives, we'll be fine and if we get a bite and land something then we will have some answers."
Becca scowled a moment but finally nodded and the three left the fortified accommodation and returned to the market, Kovac shopped for a few hours, organising supplies and delivery, Knickers and Barbie sat at a table in the centre of the market, ostensibly sharing a meal but their eyes never stopped scanning the crowds. Kovac finished his errands and then stopped one merchant and asked for directions, once he received them he set off out of the market. The planet they were calling home was designated "Pelcar-3" and was known as the way station of the system, almost all trade routes went through Pel3 and as a result there were many storage districts, one of which Kovac entered now.
The warehouse was mostly empty but waiting inside was a Ditiri, humanoid in shape Ditiri were covered with a fine fur that gave them a "fluffy" appearance, they had a trader society and were not above working in less than reputable circles. Physically they were no threat to a human, moving significantly slower than most space faring species they did however have remarkably sharp minds and were considered cunning to the extreme.
Kovac and the Ditiri spoke for some time before the Major gained some information he was looking for.
"Flet will work for anyone, not like the Rhul, they are like humans in that respect, more so unlike Burtuq and Garax, Flet will work independently and not insist on being hired as a group, those three may have only been together for that job." Yellow eyes regarded the Major, "you are known Major Kovac, your achievements are known, past exploits may be coming back to haunt you."
Kovac nodded his thanks and the meeting ended, for the first time since I had met Kovac I feared for his safety. Kovac had fought in multiple wars if a former enemy was targeting the Major then entire star empires could be focusing their revenge on him and while the Dark Horses were good, they were not enough.
I don't know if Kovac heard the attackers, Flet are as silent as the earth felines they were nicknamed for but he threw himself to his left as a clawed paw lashes out at him, he landed heavily and rolled over coming to rest on his back, one foot planted on the floor with his knee bent and one leg raised off the ground with his knee pulled up to his chest, both arms bent so his hands were either side of his head, the largest Flet I had ever seen lunged at Kovac who raised his elevated foot higher.
The Flet was centimetres from Kovac when it dropped like a stone, behind it stood Knickers with a large club. She stared down at the motionless beast for a moment then nodded at Kovac, "plan worked," she said.
Barbie hurried to help Kovac up, "are you ok? Did it catch you? I forget how damn quick they are, thank God you're quick like a freak." She gave a small grunt as she pulled Kovac up, "you're not hurt are you? The captain would stab me in the tits if you got hurt...so would Knickers mind."
Kovac was adjusting the Flet on the ground and with a single movement heaved the 9 foot creature onto his shoulders with a slight grunt. "Gnnh I'm fine Barbs, really I am, thank you Knix, I owe you."
"No you don't" replied Knickers, she gestured and led the odd looking trio forward.
At the horses headquarters Wolf and Kovac had tied the Flet to the chair, while Wolf hummed a child's tune "pussy cat, pussy cat" a nursery rhyme that was fast becoming an abusive and xenophobic anthem when sung near Flet; Kovac left the room and returned with a bag, he crouched infront of the Flet and stared at the prisoner for a while. Then he spoke.
"Did you see the others?"
The Flet stared back for a long moment before giving the human "nod".
"Good," Kovac stood and walked to a low table, he set the bag down and reached inside. The first thing he pulled out was a pineapple, the kitty flinched at the sight of it, Kovac set it down on the table, then he reached into the bag again, he pulled a bunch of bananas out held them up while staring at the Flet before setting them on the table beside the pineapple, he followed this with an orange and then a yellow fruit that was oblong shaped the size of his fist, he paused for a moment looking first at the fruit then at the Kitty with an appraising look, finally he pulled out three limes individually setting them on the table before returning his focus to the agitated looking Flet. He looked in the bag and then at Wolf who gave a grin while producing a knife seemingly from nowhere, Wolf nodded encouragingly. Kovac seemed to hesitate before finally plunging his hand into the bag and placing at the end of the fruit chain a single kumquat. Wolf picked up the pineapple and spun it on the palm if his hand, his knife caught the light and glittered.
"Stop" squeaked the Kitty.
"Talk!" Yelled Becca from behind him.
Something that isn't understood by many is that the Flet are a matriarchal culture, the males may be the face of the military arm of their society but their females run the rest, so for the already intimidated Kitty having a female scream an order at it had a profound effect.
The Kitty talked he gave answers to all the questions he was asked only once did hesitate but Captain Becca's threat to "fuck him up with a kumquat" was enough to break his final resolve.
After the Flet was thrown out Kovac called an assembly, soon 150 men and women were assembled and Kovac spoke to them. He told them he was the target of the Flet Cosmic Imperium, it seemed he had been deemed responsible for the death of the heir to the throne and so was now sentenced to death. He informed them that there was no help to be called on and it was him against the Imperium, all of them were free to leave with his blessing, not a single soldier left there seat.
Some would tell you that this was human loyalty but they would be wrong, this was human insanity. Most of those thought Kovac stood a chance and those that didn't were so stubborn they wouldn't back down from intimidation.
In my fibres though I must admit that Kovac of all the humans I've known did make me wonder if he could achieve the impossible and defeat the Imperium with only 150 soldiers.
