She could barely feel the shivering of her eels, despite the way the pair was wrapped securely around her body in a desperate attempt for some semblance of warmth and protection against the fierce chill.

Between their additional weight and the snow constantly battering against her face, it was getting difficult to keep up her trek, stumbling over the frosty ground underfoot. Where was she, anyways? It was impossible to see out here! All she'd wanted was to snatch some food!

One of the long, large and floppy ears atop his head receives an experimental tug. His frown remains firmly hidden behind his book even as it deepens, but the reason for that is likely to do with the changes his nose has undergone. Sitting halfway between human and hare-like, it has him rather self-conscious. Can't he just be one or the other?

Endless Aurora Info

Luz has chosen the Snow Leopard as her guardian!

This means:

She has the snow leopard's ears and tail!

Her teeth are also sharper, with slightly longer canines. She can't roar, but she'll definitely growl or rumble a little if she's upset.

Baby's also got claws now, and she's more than a little excited about it.

Luz doesn't have much in the way of "traditional" survival experience, and without her magic she's not as adept in a fight as she's used to being, despite her time she's spent practicing with a sword here in Spirale.

And so... these new instincts she's feeling? She's leaning into them. If she can use them to help her friends and family, she'll do what she has to.

Nice event, mind if I... am completely unaffected? Lilith's guardian is a raven, and since she already has a raven-themed curse going on, she's not going to notice the difference. She's already got feathers popping up for some reason or another. Ironically, powers not working is actually helpful in her situation, she can ignore her usual fears and focus on using her survival skills and helping others who are less prepared.

Her stomach hurt.

The reason why was obvious enough; between herself and her two rather large eels, food had run out in her home quickly as soon as it had suddenly turned into a limited resource. That wouldn't have been too much of a problem, given her new heightened senses, and the wafting, tempting scents drifting all around her...

Except, Guardian or not, Frye was not at all adjusted to this kind of cold-- and especially not to hunting in it.

Quiet? Her? The word practically wasn't in her vocabulary! Which, unfortunately, showed. Her habit of loud battle cries whenever she made a run for any of the little creatures that crossed her field of vision was more than enough to scare off what otherwise could have been a nice snack.

(She still didn't know what half of these creatures were, to be honest, but with the way her stomach was growling right now, that wasn't going to be enough to make her take pause. Not when they smelled this good, and she was this hungry!)

The repeated disappointments was frustrating, and it was getting harder to shrug off the brutal sting of the cold as she trudged on, pulling her eels close in an attempt to keep the pair warm as well. Still, she'd followed the latest promising scent trail as soon as it'd caught her attention--

--and ran straight into a stranger, standing there in the distance with what looked like his own fishy catch. It didn't look like he had much, but not much was still more than she had.

And that meant that it was definitely worth fighting for.

"NOT SO FAST!"

To suddenly find fur covering her tentacles where there'd been none before was something that was uncomfortable at best, prickling in Frye's gut like she'd swallowed an urchin. This whole thing brought back vivid pictures of Alterna to mind; memories of pulsating, colorful ooze with a little too much hair in it to be normal, of little octopus guys covered in fur, and of one really big, corporate bear whose butt they'd given a good lesson to.

But at least Alterna had been filled with all sorts of treasure for the three of them to loot, and had led the trio to help save the world! That place hadn't been super cold the way everything was right now either, despite the snow that'd coated the underground dome as well. Maybe the stuff there had been fake? Honestly, she'd never stopped to think about it before...

Whatever-- there were more important things to worry about right now. Itchy, uncomfortable new tail or not, there was no way that Frye was going to spend her time sitting around her house waiting for this storm to pass! The sheer extreme of the cold admittedly had made it difficult for her to think straight by the time she'd been asked to make her choice, a fact which rendered the memory of said choice foggy in her head; but with newfound warmth and resilience breathed back into her body alongside her new, fuzzy features, she already knew the first person she had to track down.

And, as it turned out, tracking her down wasn't going to be all that hard. As she pushed past frozen storefronts and ice-covered sidewalks, a strong scent hit her nose. One that she couldn't quite place, but somehow, felt immediately familiar anyways. Her head swiveled wildly until she caught a glimpse of the source-- and proceeded to burst into a barreling sprint across the icy terrain, shouting over the wind at the top of her lungs with little care for any kind of subtlety.

"HEY! HEY, WHISPER! OVER HERE!"

Frye doesn't know a lot about arctic animals, and was already somewhat out of it as a result of the extreme cold by the time the choices became available in the first place. she ended up picking an arctic wolf purely on a whim, because it reminded her of a friend.

on the bright side, she's feeling a lot better now that she's made her choice! but she's not super happy about the white fur that's grown to cover her tentacles, or the sudden new tail. on the other hand, having even sharper teeth than usual and claws is pretty cool. lots of ways to be intimidating like that!

extremely loyal to and protective of people she considers part of her 'pack', as well as to any place she considers to be her territory, though that's... not actually all that different from normal. you'll probably see her wandering around the Land of Burnt Umber more than anywhere else, as it's the place she's most protective of.

her sense of smell being quite keen isn't all that different from normal either, but it's been taken to a whole new extreme now. she WILL smell you coming, and unless you're a known friend, she'll be more likely than usual to react with aggression.

otherwise though, she's still just trying to make the most out of the situation and have a good time, despite the intensity of the cold. anyone up for a snowball fight?
