My very first Crolly doll, which I named Missy, arrived this week. I will make another post about the history of Crolly dolls, but for now I am just excited to check her out!
Without further ado, here she is!

The first thing I did was remove her clothes, to get a good look at her condition. Her red shoes appear to be her original rubber cinderella shoes, size 5. The clothing seems to be from a child. Everything went into a sterile wash.

The next point of interest is the giant hole in her back. She didn't get shot by a canon, her squeaker/voice box is missing! Maybe some day I'll find her a replacement. 🥰

She smells VERY strongly of mould/damp, and one look inside confirms my fears- mildew, eew!! 😵‍💫
Her hair is green. I'm not sure if that is her original state, or whether it has faded over time. It also smells like death 💀

Her body is quite dirty and scratched all over. Look at these grubby little mitts!

I washed her with a mixture of warm water, dettol and washing up liquid. Many (filthy) water changes later, she looks and smells much better. I wiped her down with some antibacterial wipes and put a thick layer of conditioner in her damp hair overnight to combat the dry/tangled mess.

So, here we end our first post, with poor Missy left splayed out near a fan to help her insides to dry out for a little bit, while the conditioner does its job.
Fingers crossed that Tifa the cat won't attack her during the night 😝
