#love this movie really i do but engaging with others' opinions of it is driving me insane #& unfortunately a lot of this truly baffling illiteracy relates to the original + the amount of attention it gives the jets over the sharks #but genuinely even watching the original as a child i was able to see the sharks as you know human beings so im starting to think– #–maybe these people claiming to be ~progressive~ actually have biases toward white/non-hispanic characters #how tf is bernardo a misogynist though lmaoooo #is it the JOKE LINE about him & anita having six kids bc if so i fear for humanity #west side story #notes
