Eavesdropping on a soon-to-retire coworker who is listening to a webinar on retirement plans and the woman running it just explained how to estimate your life expectancy by taking the average of how old your grandparents/parents lived to be, adding/subtracting some years to that age based on medical issues they may have had that you don’t and vice versa, and that number is probably the best to shoot for when deciding your own life expectancy, to know how much money you will need in your retirement. Yo. Retirement planning is fucked.
