Not to sound up myself but why does fandom privilege the most unhinged media illiterate un self-aware individuals to become its mouthpieces

#the big blog / big acct paradox if you will #like I don’t think I like a single ‘big fandom blog’ on this entire website #especially in [redacted fandom] #I mean twitter is abysmal too but in different ways #it’s more cultish there so fandom leaders don’t so easily get away with admitting that they don’t even watch or know anything abt the sport #their blog is abt.. #wait sorry did I say something? #idk I’ve just always felt so alienated within fandoms and intellectually alienated is certainly one axis of that #this isn’t even abt academic stuff as such just like. common sense idk #I know we’re all inconsistent and biased etc etc I just. #I’m never as die hard and blindly in support of anything as fans are so I feel like I always #interact on a different plane to like. the majority of fandom #this is why I kept getting into scandals when I was a kpop fan 😭 #I also hate the mob mentality around big blogs like I think it gets to peoples heads #and then you have users who blindly defend other users from any valid criticism and it’s all just a wild cycle
