also i must say i find it very funny how i’ve seen multiple tweets from English only speaker saying “Orologia” ‘s name is too complicated / is confusing and they’re already coming up with nicknames to type it without fucking up, meanwhile the very first time Orologia was namedropped, non-english friends and i, who have a greek/latin-rooted native language, all went “oh yeah that’s similar to how we say "Clock”, see what you did here”. 

I’ve rarely seen such a massive gap in the reception of a name than this, usually there’s never anything that’s so drastically different, but it gave me such a massive double take that anyone would have a hard time with his name while the latin-root besties all went “oh cool, easy name there.”

#in french 'clock' is 'Horloge' so the sounds are already similar #but more obvious is that 'clock' in italian is 'Orologia' like. Literally lmao. #likewise in spanish. #i have a Romanian friend who came at me with 'oh that sounds like clock' as well #it was such the obvious moment for us that seeing english folks today being genuinely confused by typing Orologia's name made me go ???? #it's so funny to me.
