Dawn of Eternity

Odlo was born from the House Of Deffings. His Father was Adrian Deffings (Adrianus Von Deffings an-Evendim) Adrian was son of a farmers family in Evendim who generally spoke farmers accent. Adrian himself moved to the Shire.

Once Adrian got there he needed a job to pay his stay, he got a job in second-hand-management of the Quarry mine of Scary. After a while Adrian gained leadership over the Quarry mine in Scary and there they lived.

Odlo's mother was Maria Eckledun (when married Maria Deffings Eckledun). Maria was a high member of the bounders, but also a politician. Her ideas where to make the Shire a military power and ignore and destroy the isolation. These ideas made many enemies in the Shire. Adrian also agreed on these ideas, for it will give many trade routes for The Quarry. Odlo had further 1 sister and 1 brother. His sister was Catrien. Catrien was educated by her mother Maria, to succeed her ideas as politician. His brother was John. Adrian wanted his sons (Odlo and John) to succeed him as leader of The Quarry and so the ingoing and outgoing trade of the Shire.

John and Catrien where determined to succeed their parents. But Odlo was different. Odlo liked to go out on adventures with his friend Simon Mepfit. They listen much to the tales of Bilbo Baggins. Adrian disliked that Odlo was addictive to these tales and was distracted from his family business.

It was the time of Bilbo's 111th birthday. Odlo wanted to join it, as he also gained an invitation. But his father Adrian Forbid it and locked his door while Odlo was on his room. Odlo however did his first Burglar move and sneaked out of the room (its still unknown how he got out) and got to the part with his friend Simon.

During the party Odlo was amazed by Gandalf's firework, and (dispite other hobbits there) he was amazed by the sudden disappearance of Bilbo on stage. After the party he got back to his home. When trying to sneak in he founds his room and other rooms in ruin. He saw blood on the floor. When he came upstairs he gained the shock of his life. His whole family was hanging from the roof. Odlo ran outside and cried for help.

Soon the local watcher came to his house an ordered to get the family done and give them a propper funeral. Odlo than gained The Quarry, which he gave to Simon. Odlo had an simple life among other hobbit's, but in secret he was teaching himself the ways of a burglar. Every afternoon and evening, while normal hobbits would feast in the inn's or relax at riverbanks fishing for their dinner. Odlo gone out into Greenfields, hunting for a deer.

Odlo didn't used a bow, infact he tried to catch a deer with a melee surprise attack. For several times the deer escaped. Odlo did not accept his loss and thus he starved as he did not want to buy nor catch other food. His hunger gave him desperate idea's to go hunting while every other hobbit was certainly sleeping. Odlo used the darkness of the night to sneak up a deer-den. Even if 2 deers where awake and on lookout, they did not saw Odlo coming. Once Odlo got close, his stomach began to growl of hunger again. That awakened the sleeping deers and they ran away. One of the deers who where on lookout attacked Odlo, But Odlo having him as target attacked him too. With Odlo's self-made dagger he cut through the throat of the deer. His first victory and his dinner was for sure.

Having no problems with hunger again, Odlo set off to Bindbole Wood in the morning. Using the morning fog and dew as his cover, Odlo was now hunting for a bigger target: The Black Bear called Bindolo. Bindolo is known to have attacked hunters, traders, collectors and adventures who came to close to Bindbole Wood. According a bounder, Bindolo attacks began after a large group of spiders took the spider nest north-west of the woods, This nest was probably Bindolo's den.

Once Odlo was in the woods, the fog and dew was everywhere. Morning birds and innocent rabbits where jumping and singing, announcing the pretty day to come. Once Odlo got to the north of the woods, the woods got thicker. More trees, plants and rocks as Odlo got closer to mountain row that seperate the Shire with Evendim. Than in the far sight, he saw a gaint black fuzzy ball, knowing it was Bindolo. Once Odlo got closer he saw that Bindolo was poisoned by spiders.

The poison was very deep, but Odlo tried to help Bindolo. Getting Bindolo to Overhill will make him look like a fool, and Bindolo will probably be killed anyway. Odlo was able to get the sting out of the poisoned wound. Than Odlo took some water, and some leafs. Odlo afterwards gone to Overhill and sneakily burged some bandage from the local medicineman. Quickly Bindolo got back on his feets, He thank Odlo in a animal way. Afterwards he ran towards the spidernest, once he was a bit further away he turned on and howled to Odlo. Odlo than thought the right thing, Bindolo wants Odlo's help defeating the spiders.

Once Odlo and Bindolo got to the spidernest, Bindolo started cutting down large spiderwebs, while Odlo took care of spawning spiders. Odlo directly took care of every spider who touched to ground, first the sting than the rest as he made them disable to poison. Once Bindolo got through a series of webs, They got to a large spider. Odlo directly got behind the spider and Bindolo would distract the spider. But before Odlo could got the sting of the spider, the spider jumped and she moved her sting under her, scratching the ground and with a full speed through Bindolo's body. Odlo's reaction was fast and he throw dust into the 4 eyes of the spider, jumpedon her body. and stuck her on the place where Odlo thought the hearth would be. Badly it did not kill the spider, while she ran away of shock and injures, only to recover and and strike back.

When Odlo came to Bindolo, he saw the sting did not make a simple poison wound as before. The sting got from he belly all through his body and out of his back. Bindolo, as good as dead, made a small effort to walk to a corner. There he pushed a rock away and kicked a item on the floor. Next Bindolo passed away. When Odlo took the item he saw it was a strange dagger. Not knowing how long it was hidden nor by what or how it came there, Odlo wanted to leave the spidernest. Than he heard slimey noices from above. When he wanted to run away, he saw something lying on the ground. It is a cloak that looks much as a rock. Odlo directly picked up the cloak and hide in it. As soon the spider queen got down, she did saw the death body of Bindolo, but didnt saw Odlo. Thinking Odlo ran away, She got back up. Once she was gone, Odlo directly run out and gone to Brockenborings to ask someone about the strange dagger.

Once Odlo got to Brockenborings, he sought out the local bounder. The bounder could not tell from where the dagger nor the cloak came from, or if some one was using them. He said that Odlo had to seek out someone in The Plough and Stars inn, maybe someone could tell. Once Odlo got to the inn, he asked the innkeeper if he know something about the 2 mystic items. Odlo asked around the customers, but as well as the innkeeper as the customers didn't know anything. When Odlo came out of the inn a elfish girl came to him, asking Odlo about the cloak and dagger. Odlo told her that the items have been found in a gaint cave where the queen of shire-spiders rule, and asked her about the dagger and cloak. The elfish girl didn't know where the dagger is coming from nor what kind of dagger it is. She told Odlo, however, that the cloak is hailing from Lothlorien, and it's purpose is to hide the wearer from unfriendly eyes.

The elvish girl told Odlo that she came from Lothlorien, and so the cloak was very familiar to her. The dagger wasn't familiar, but she told Odlo to seek out an elvish elder who, according to stories, have travelled and explored the world in ancient time. The elvish girl told Odlo that this man was resting in the gardens of Stock near Brandywine Bridge. Odlo turned around looking to the south, but when he turned back to thanks the elvish girl, she vanished.

Odlo set off towards Stock. On his way Odlo took items and other things from his house in Scary, knowing that this will be an adventure where he will probably long-gone for. Once Odlo was on the middle of the road through Bridgefields a hobbit ran up to him. He asked Odlo to help him protect his field against brigands. Odlo ran down with the hobbit towards the point the brigands where moving. Once the brigands attacked Odlo could take 2 down, but than their numbers started growing. Odlo threw his selfmade dagger away, and picked up the mysterious dagger. Than one brigands smashed Odlo to the ground with the hilt of his sword, than 4 Brigands stand around him. Odlo through his end would be know, but than the mysterious dagger started glowing white. The glow became brighter, soon the brigands where blinded and did not know where to fight. Than Odlo felt new power within him, he jumped from the ground and in a fast speed he stabbed the brigands in bellies and backs. Few brigands where able to see again, and saw 5 death brigands with Odlo standing in the middle holding a bright-glowing dagger. They gained the fear of their lifes and ran away.

The helpless hobbit thank Odlo and gave him some money and some food from his field, enough to keep up a journey towards Rivendell.

After 1 day Odlo finally arrived at Stock. Odlo asked some hobbits there about the elvish elder. One hobbit told Odlo he is resting at the gardens of The Golden Perch inn. Once he got to The Golden Perch inn he saw the Elder sitting above it. When Odlo got up the inn, he saw that the elvish girl was there too. As soon as Odlo came close, the elvish girl walked up to him and gave him a special ring. She said that it would help him to journey towards the bitter end, than she walked away again. After the elvish girl was a near a tree she turned her head and smiled towards Odlo, but directly than the elvish elder called Odlo to him. Distracted by the elder, the elvish girl vanished again.

The elder asked Odlo about the dagger. Odlo showed the dagger to the elder, than he shocked for a second. "The dagger was from my wife" he said. Odlo asked about the secret power and the strange never seen form. the elder replied that its a mixed dagger. The hilt is made in Harad and Far Harad, it's shape is Haradrim, but its made from Oliphaunt tusks. The blade's shape was Easterling, but the materials used for the blade was mixed. It was made with a little bit of every material on the world. The elder told Odlo, that once a orc murdered his wife and took this dagger away. He asked an local burglar than to find this orc, kill him and bring back the dagger. The burglar was using the same cloak as Odlo was than. So both the elder as Odlo assumed that the burglar got the orc down and wanted to rest in the cave that later became the spidernest. He would probably have been attacked by spiders or an ancestor of Bindolo.

The elder said he had no need for the dagger anymore, and so Odlo was allowed to keep it. He said that once his wife died, her spirit's power became the dagger's power. During the time his wife died, the elfs had enormous power, so the dagger gained that power too. The elder told Odlo that the finder of this dagger and cloak will have a destiny that will be worth a song. He told Odlo to abonden his normal life and move to bree, there he must ask the town crier about the news. Odlo will hear about a group, and Odlo must accompany them towards destiny. Towards eternity

Once he got to Bree the town crier told Odlo about a mixed group of people, who are, dispite all fear, are going to counter the unfair, untruth and unworthy, Odlo very liked to meet this group of people very much. The town crier told Odlo that the whole group is marching to battle in high lands of the Misty Mountains. Than Odlo gone to the Prancing Pony, and asked butterbur about this group and how to join. He told Odlo to speak with the messenger about this. The messenger told Odlo that the group is looking for new recruits, and Odlo asked for the invitation. He told Odlo to wait at the Prancing Pony, as he will deliver the message of his arrival and that he is waiting at the Prancing Pony.

Well Odlo was at the Prancing Pony, he heard stories of an expedition into the dreaded Barrow-downs to uncover several ancient mysteries. Odlo heard the expedition did not go well, even worse that the volunteers of the expedition probably all have been killed. Odlo knew that many of the simple bree-folk would not attemp to search for survivors. Odlo also knew that the contact with that certain group of heroes will probably be late. Odlo packed the stuff he needed, and set off towards Barrow-downs. Some bree-folk gave him some food as sign of his courage, some other people signed him as a fool.

Well Odlo was at the entrance of the Barrow-downs he saw a death body lying just off the corner. He had bite marks from a certain hound like creature, than Odlo thought about the story Butterbur once told about a Barghest. An terrible hound who, according to the story, died and resurrected out the death. Odlo saw a little paper in his hand, on it was written:

Expedition Failure, Need aid for rescue. As Soon As Possible!! Our base camp is at the west of Northern Barrow-downs, at the entrance of the Old Forest! Greatings, Bob "Expedition Lieutenant"

Odlo took up the paper and wandered deeper into the Barrow-downs. He saw himself as the "aid" the expedition needed. Onco Odlo came into the open field of barrow's he saw nothing, yet. But than he shocked, in the far a man... or it was a man. A wight with no flesh, eyes nor hair walked up towards Odlo. Odlo knew that he would probably not welcome him with a nice warm cup of soup. So Odlo took the Mysterious Dagger, and quick cut a gaping hole in the wight's backbone. It will be the deadkill against all living creatures, but the wight just turned around like he had no pain at all. Next he tried to cut through Odlo's arm with his ancient sword. He failed, but quickly he tried again, making a painfull gaping cut in Odlo's arm. Out of Shock Odlo lost his dagger.

Odlo fell on the ground, he directly tried to catch his dagger. The Wight was ready to put his sword in Odlo to finish him. But than Odlo grabbed a crawler and threw against the wight's face. While the wight was distracted, Odlo grabbed his dagger and began to cut bone after bone away from the wight. But Odlo was bleeding and soon he became exhausted. The wight was only crawling around with 1 arm, head and upper-body. But Odlo had no more energy to put the wight to final rest. The wight seems unbeateble and Odlo thought his time has come.

Out of nothing a dwarf came rushing towards Odlo and the wight and with a hard swing, he crushed the skull of the wight. The wight stopped moving, it was death. The dwarf helped Odlo up, he said that wight's here can since a few days ago, only be killed by losing their head. Odlo asked if the wights where weaker before, the dwarf replied that the wights where weaker and with few. The wights who walked on that time where risen on the time Angmar took controll of the Barrow-Downs. The dwarf helped Odlo taking care of his injuries, and travelled together to seek the expedition.

The dwarf said his name was Gromil, He said he was once part of the dourhand family. Once the Dourhands became racists, Gromil grown more and more to the back. Once the Dourhand gained contact with Angmar and joined with them Gromil left. He said that it is nothing for dwarfs to battle eachother and join up with black-hearted orc's and goblins.

Gromil was able to get rid of many wights, after a while Odlo gained back his strength. Now Odlo knew how to kill these wights he quickly cutted down 1 with a precise hit through the skull. Than in the dark horizon 2 blood-red eyes brighted up. As they moved closer, both Gromil as Odlo started to gain some kind of fear in them. But Odlo quickly overcame his fear, picked up a rock and throw it towards the eyes. Out of shock the eyes turned and made a large circle around Gromil and Odlo. With its eye's fixed on the 2 heroes he ran so fast and than accidently crashed against a upright stone. Odlo and Gromil quickly came closer. They saw it was a kind of dog, and the looks of the tooths it was the same as the bite marks on the messanger.

The barghest quickly tried again to bit Gromil, but Odlo quickly hit him with the helt of his dagger and stunned him. Than Gromil picked an axe from his pocket and quickly cutted off the head of the hound. It's head dropped on the ground and bounced 1 more time into the air. Out of his body squirted a lot of blood like a red-fountain. Because the free flow of the blood the hounds body bounced and rolled around, on some places even parts of his neckbone fell off. Than the blooding stopped, Both the ground as Gromil and Odlo where under the blood.

Fortunate the expedition camp was close there Odlo and Gromil could washoff their armour with water from the Old Forest. Now they will disscuss the change of strenth of the undeath and the Angmarim Curse on these lands with the expedition members. They say that a certain source lied deep in the Barrow-downs. Bob, the expedition lieutenant, has sent a scout into the south but has not returned yet. Bob said also that when the expedition fell, a seperated group has gone south also.

Odlo and Gromil knew what they had to do. They packed their stuff and headed south. On their way it was uneasy silence, no wight nor barghest in sight. Odlo and Gromil reached a gaint spire in a circle form hill. There they noticed a burned-out campfire and a book. Gromil picked up the book and read it while Odlo was on the watch. Gromil said that this book is written by a certain Taradan, who is burried in the Barrow-downs. But at a certain page the writings are newer. These writing where made by Malin, an expedition member. While the text said all that Odlo and Gromil also knew, 1 sentence gave them chills:

From south the Doctor is watching

Gromil and Odlo knew directly that this Doctor is the source of the havoc on the Barrow-downs.

Odlo and Gromil moved further south. They reached the mountain wall that seperates North with South Barrow-downs. The mountain was also called The Barrow-Wall. Everything that lied in South Barrow-downs was extremely old, it was a well-used graveyard during the golden age of Arnor.

Odlo and Gromil moved a bit more east to find a certain passage across the mountains. Once Odlo and Gromil came to the passage they gained a horrific amount of dread on them. The dread was coming from the south and so probably also this Doctor. Odlo and Gromil threw away their fear, and moved over the pass to the south. Once Odlo and Gromil made it across they shocked, before them was a whole army of wights.

Odlo and Gromil knew they had to avoid this army, will they be able to get to the source and end it. There was a small barrow-like path in the east. Odlo used some bushes he found on the mountain pass, gave some to Gromil and sneaked across some wights towards the empty barrow-path. When they reached the barrow-path they gave chase to get to the source as fast as possible. But while they're halfway a ranged wight jumped out his barrow from behind and quickly shot an arrow in Gromil's leg. Gromil directly took cover behind a rock and tried to get the arrow out his leg. Odlo knew that this wight could alarm if Odlo would help Gromil. So, Odlo rushed towards the wight, evading an arrow and another and 1 more. Odlo quickly picked up a stone which he threw against the wights head which stunned him for a moment. During the stun Odlo moved behind the wight and quickly cut its head in two pieces. The wight fell down, death again. Odlo quickly ran towards Gromil to help him with his wound. Gromil was already able to get the arrow out and forced himself to forget the pain. Odlo and Gromil moved further.

Once they reached the the southern end of the Barrow-downs they saw the person they called The Doctor. With him was standing a woman in red clothing that according the stories only was wearn in Angmar. Odlo and Gromil didnt know why there was a Angmarim here, well that on this very moment Angmar is eating dust in their own homeland. When they moved closer they saw 5 prisoners from the expedition. The Doctor picked a certain large book out of a chest, and began to read a sentence up and loud. The sentence was of a certain speech, not elvish nor dwarvish nor blackspeech. But once the sentence was done, 1 prisoner of the expedition started to act weird. Odlo and Gromil shocked as it looked like something in his body was trying to breakout. The Prisoner was screaming so hard and loud that probably everyone on middle earth could hear it. Quickly they saw the skeleton arm of the prisoner breaking out his own flesh, and than its legs. The whole skeleton of the prisoner gained his own life and broken out of the prisoner's own body. The prisoner was reduced to a pile of flesh, organs and blood. They saw quickly that the skeleton obeyed the Doctor. The Angmarim woman placed the remains of the prisoner and placed into a huge dish. Than she said something that looked like blackspeech and quickly the remains got in fire and a crimson smoke rised towards the sky. Out of the smoke raced many little yellow flares and got into any skeleton that was standing before them. Now Odlo and Gromil know why these skeleton became a lot stronger than normal.

They wanted to move at the back of the tempe to free the other prisoners, but once they got closer 7 skeletons ambushed them. Odlo and Gromil quickly picked up their weapons and got a wight down, and than a other one. Once they almost got a third down some other wight knocked them out. Once they woked up they saw they where inprisoned, and at the entrance of the sacrificial altar place where the Angmarim and "Doctor" is standing.

The Doctor turned around and gave his "welcome" to Odlo and Gromil. Odlo kept himself quiet, while Gromil started to threat the Doctor. He said that a attack on a dwarf is a attack on all dwarfs. And so if the Doctor kills him than its certain that he will be killed by a dwarvish hammer or axe. The Doctor only laughed on this and said something in black speech. The Angmarim then unlocked Gromil and dragged him to the Altar. Then the Doctor picked up the one book with weird langauge with which he used to disintergrate the prisoner before. Now the Doctor said the same sentence and than Gromil started shouting in pain. Powerless Odlo had to watch sees his friend die in terrible pain. Once the ritual was over, Odlo gained terrible anger.

Out of nowhere the elvish girl appeared. She was all in full armor and had a shield and spear in her hands. With a quick throw she cutted Odlo free from a distance and a second quickly throw she knocked the Mysterious dagger out the Angmarim's pocket into Odlo's hand. Once Odlo grabbed the dagger a fell light came, Odlo saw barely what happened, but what he saw was that a beam of light knocked the doctor to the ground, than striked through the Angmarim and than destroyed the book, putting it into flames. Once the book was downed a wave of light flowed all across the field with wights. As a destructive wind-wave it blowed all the wights into milions of bones. Than the light gone off again.

Once Odlo was able to see again, he saw an empty field but the ground was filled with broken bones. 3 other prisoners where cut lose, and the elvish girl was vanished again. Then Odlo saw the Doctor still living. Odlo didnt know why the "Miracle" didnt killed the Doctor, but Odlo directly grabbed his dagger and holded it to the throat of the Doctor. The Doctor didnt know where he was, or what he was doing. Odlo thought that the Doctor lost his memory. However the Doctor said that he doesnt remember anything until he read the Necronomican the Angmarim woman gave to him. He said he had no control of himself once the woman stepped into his house and forged him to the read the book. Odlo asked his name, he replyed his name was Dalton Willow, a Proffessional Lore-master. Odlo remember to have seen "Missing posters" of him between a lot others who where missing in the Old Forest, but later rescued by a dwarf.

Dalton heard the Angmarim woman (named Mua) talking about a certain Codex Cult of the Last Darkness. Directly, a member of the expedition who was searching Mua's body, signed Odlo that he found a book that looks to be brand new, but as evil as ancient evil. Dalton said that, this book was the certain Codex. Dalton said also that, because angmarim are losing their homeland to united group, many luietenants of angmar who where outside of angmar seeked salvation by this cult. Dalton didnt know more than that.

The members of the expedition signed Odlo again. They where looking in this codex and found a threating text:

It is, where the city from where thee lightbringers come fort, will be captured as the darkness and the eye want. From the inside at the highest ladder it shall fall, it is.

Odlo and several members didnt know its meaning, but Dalton said that the city from lightbringers comes has to be Bree. Odlo than knew the last sentence, meaning it will bring down bree from the inside, and it will be done by someone who is high in the governmental-ladder of bree. Odlo knew than that he has to hurry to bree to prevent someone from the inside taking bree.
