Communication No. 2431
The ISU has announced that the following things after their meeting on October 1st:
Four Continents Championship will be held in Tallin, Estonia - the first time it will be held in a European country. Since it is only one week after the end of Europeans, it will make logistics easier for the two competitions to be held back-to-back.
The qualification criteria for the JGP Final will held as such:
For Singles, the seven winners of each event will qualify for the Final. should there only be 6 individual winners, they will qualify. Should there be less than six, the 2nd and 3rd place skaters by score will qualify for the final until they reach 6 entries. Japan will be allowed one wild card entry as the hosts.
For Pairs, the four winners will qualify for the final. Should there be less than four, the next place 2nd and 3rd place teams by scores will qualify until there are four entries.
For Ice Dance, it works the same as with singles - the seven winners qualify. If there are only six, six qualify. If there aren’t six, then the 2nd and 3rd place teams will qualify until they reach six entries.
The 3 best 2nd place skaters/teams, 3rd place skaters teams, who are not already qualified, will count as substitutes for the final until the minimum number of entries are reached - (6 for Men and Women (not counting the wild card,) 4 for Pairs, and 6 for Ice Dance.
The 2022 - 2023 Junior Grand Prix season will be as such:
August 24-27, 2022 Courchevel / FRA
