being a condi character disliker is crazy and overrated. vyncent literally has a whole entire world dedicated to him and jay ferin is such a badass that the world revolves around her. emizel is super silly and actually helps a lot in seeing characters and more about them, despite him causing chaos and being a gremlin. don't get me started on Rolan and how well he and his character fit in the world and how he's literally the main character of blood in the bayou

I wish fans gave as much love to Jay as they did to Gil or Chip. No hate to them, but it really feels like the fan base values the “hot Yaoi men” more than anything/anyone else. Griz has put a lot of effort into femme NPCS/characters and it feels like they get brushed under the rug. TO ME.

I believe, very firmly, that Grizzlyplays does not understand the colour of obsidian. Art of Niklaus Hendrix has him becoming increasingly purple, which is just really not normal obsidian colours, unless you count fucking minecraft as your reference. Even then, that's a far, far darker purple than our dearest Desire Daddy.

Grizzly, beloved, please read a fucking geology textbook. I recommend Earth: Portrait of a Planet (Fifth Edition) by Marshak.

Honestly I don't see the romantic chemistry between Gillion and Chip. I just don't. I can imagine Chip having a crush, but that is one-sided. Gillion does not at all seem romantically interested in Chip. I love FNC but I think, and it's not an issue specific to the JRWI fandom (it's just a general Fandom thing), people focus wayy too much on the potential of a romantic ships.

They have a fantastic friendship, a bond that goes soo much deeper than just friends, not because they're lovers, but because they're family. They found each other. They ALL found each other. Jay is left out so often bc of the shipping. She's a lovely character, SOO COOL and yet so little focus is on her.

SPOILER EP 21 Riptide, even after The Kiss, I don't believe the feeling was mutual. Sure, I believe Chip is... okay yeah that man is NOT beating the allegaytions, but Gillion? I don't believe the genuineness was from romantic love. Love, sure, maybe, but a platonic, maybe familial (though that may have been a little early to determine that one) but I just don't buy it. Then there's the next episode just after that, when Gill finds his Peepaw's book, and exclaims that he would have to apologise to Chip as he didn't realise what kisses meant to humans.

Anyway, yeah. I don't really mind the idea, I even enjoy the Hypothetical myself. But I just don't think it would, or could, happen in canon. I do hc Gilly as aroace and maybe that factors in to it but yeah. I wish their relationship was explored more in its friend/found family form bc there is soo much there to work with. The three co-captains, the found family. Okay confession/ramble over.

I love Soda from The Suckening so much it’s indescribable. He is the best NPC to ever grace JRWI, and I cannot for the life of me tell you why I feel this way. I just do. He’s awesome in every way a character could be awesome. I haven’t even seen episode 2 yet (not a patreon supporter). I’ve watched Riptide for months and never joined, but my sheer love for this character is driving me to. I will gladly spend more money if it means more Soda in my life. All I can hear is that stupid Joe Biden meme where he says “SODA ‼️‼️‼️” and it warms my heart.

(Huge shoutout to Emizel as well for being my second favourite. He’s almost on Soda’s level. Almost.)

I think Spoilers for S1EP100 onwards

I’m gonna be so real I don’t think Ava loved Lizzie. I think it was so one sided. There might have been a bit where Jay said something I really don’t remember, but if Lizzie loved Ava I don’t think Ava loved Lizzie.

Jayson mentions how Jay wears her heart and truth on her sleeve and it’s really obvious and she can’t lie, and how it’s something unique to her, which just makes me think that Ava wasn’t like that. Just makes me think that Ava used Lizzie to get to Shadowbeard and the hideout, and was then killed in crossfire to tie up loose ends.

Doesn’t matter if she was acting in love, a Naval Captain being involved with a pirate looks bad, and the Navy can’t have that.

I don’t think Ava loved Lizzie at all. Imo Lizzie was means to an end.
