He’d been watching her for a few minutes from a high perch on a tree branch, having been nestled on a cushion of moss that suited his rear end just fine for the sitting. As he watched the girl, though, Judas couldn’t help but note the rounded ears, and his own pointed ones wiggled with interest. And what was that she was carrying? Food? Was it food???

Fingernails clutching into the wood of the branch, he repositioned to be more comfortable, legs kicking leisurely as he called out, 

“Hey! What is that? Can I have it??? It’d make a great gift to me, you know — If- If you ever wanted to get me something. Just saying!”
