hi. lgbt community. i WISH you guys would stop saying ‘afab’ when you mean ‘nonbinary afab’. trans men do exist

#this has been a PSA #i see so. MANY. posts. describing stuff that for the VAST MAJORITY of trans men is… not applicable #and it’ll be like. AFABS- #like ohhh my god. i literally cannot identify out of afab it’s a label thrust upon me #but what you’re describing is not at all related or relatable to me or the vast majority of trans guys!!! #wider lgbt community recognise that binary trans people exist challenge #(not that they so much get nonbinary trans people either… but the assumption is very much that they’re more prevelant & usually more #sympathetic than binary trans people) #(at least when afab & fem presenting (though i abhor this terminology) & usually white…. #) #but. LIKE. ‘tips for women & afabs!!’ or even sometimes said by other trans people ‘afab people-’ #when it’s so obviously about a nonbinary person whos bought into wayyy too much antimasculism not a trans guy or anyone who aligns #themselves w masculinity…. #i hate the word afab in general tho. but #lgbt #antimasculism #transandrophobia #oliver talks
