Elena, in the later seasons (season 5+), has me a bit 😕 bec she doesn't feel like Elena. like,,, Elena encouraging Caroline to go after Jesse bec Tyler wasn't there despite Caroline still officially being with Tyler? Elena needing Stefan to be okay, not bec he deserves to be okay, but bec she feels guilty for having a great summer while Stefan was drowning over and over in the safe? she feels more self centered and shallow which like, isn't a BAD thing, really, but it feels like after she flipped her switch and then came back she became less empathetic and genuine. I dunno
