Did you know according to TCM,each season relates to a specific organ!? —— In TCM early February (of course during my birth month since it’s my favorite organ) is considered to be the beginning of Spring and the liver and gallbladder are the organs that are related to this season —— In Western medicine, the liver plays a role in digestion, metabolism, detoxification, coagulation, and immune modulation, while in TCM the functions of the liver include regulating emotion, promoting digestion and absorption(literally and metaphorically digesting life), the maintenance and the circulation of qi, (energy aka blood, and body fluid) and of course regulating reproductive functioning —— If the liver and gallbladder are imbalanced, or have stagnant qi (energy), many physical and emotional symptoms can express themselves as the following: . . . Headaches, grinding of the teeth, eye issues(the liver meridian is connected to the eyes), feeling hot all the time (liver is active between 1-3am so if you’re always waking up you might have excess “heat” in the body) pms/period symptoms, general inflammation, irritability/anger/impatience (aka shit mood since your liver is associated with emotions, especially anger), feeling restless (emotional detoxing) and a general feeling of being stuck/stagnant/ merp in life ——- In TCM the liver modulates emotions, which can be related to functioning or dysfunction of our hormones, neurotransmitters and HPA axis ——- Excessive anger can damage the liver, leading to dysfunction in upward flow of qi and blood, which can be indicated by red eyes and face (like me talking to customer service) and can lead to emotional disorders manifested as irritability, anxiousness and a generally shit/Debby downer person to be around —— Let’s all just have a silly goose time; if it isn’t enhancing and advancing your life then let’s work on letting that shit go and letting that shit flow 💁🏼 ——— #briannaapproved #TCM #liver #liverhealth #qi #liverstagnation #hormones #hormonehealth #functionalmedicine #digestion #detox #liverdetox #emotionaldetox #detoxification (at Asbury Park, New Jersey) https://www.instagram.com/p/B-__BWcj8V7/?igshid=1aaa48cprvnin
