yknow this upd8 made me realize just how deprived of homestucks usual storytelling style weve been. the original comic had so much foreshadowing in various forms (like “you cant be future ___ because of xyz!” or the longcon foreshadowing of jake through jade having a mysterious penpal) and hs2 just had like. none of that. no mysterious future things being referenced that hang over you for sometimes thousand of pages until the dots connect and give you that ohhhhh moment. just purely “this is whats happening right now.” we need the weird time fuckery both in canon and in terms of how the story is presented to us again
