wasn’t that bad of a student at school — satisfactory, for lack of a better word. he managed to graduate high school & go to college, that’s for sure.

well, he was only stopped for a few months since the school suggested it’d be best for him to not be around kids ... was on paid leave for 2-3 months.
getting the call from the authorities was something he didn’t expect. unfortunately, he expected the worst.
although relieved, he knows that it’ll be a long road ahead of them. but they aren’t really his child anymore. papá lost them since then.
totally debating whether i should’ve kept the lawsons as is and applied with nikolaj coster-waldau instead. we’ll see.

Hello, friends! I’m Luna (or Lulu, if you’re so inclined) and this is my hot mess express named Evangeline Parker (nee D’Aveanzo)

Evangeline grew up in Massachusetts as the youngest of two children. Her older brother Jason was born fourteen years before and Eva was considered an “oops” baby.
If politics had a royal family, they’d be the D’Aveanzo family. Her mother is a governor and her father teaches at Harvard Law. With Jason following his mother’s footsteps, the pressure for Eva to become an attorney was very strong. She, however, could never fit the mold for the perfect conservative daughter. Instead, she decided it was time for her to break off from them. While her family agreed to pay for her classes, Eva had more of an interest in psychology and behavioral analysis.
While in school, she met Nate Walsh and the two were serious within weeks. They kept their relationship a secret due to his job as a TA. With her home life being so restrictive and living a life of no one giving her wants a second thought, she was blind to the red flags with Nate. He was controlling, manipulative, and emotionally abusive. Soon, their arguments escalated and he struck her. The relationship grew steadily worse until her friends intervened. After she broke up with Nate, he outed their relationship under the guise of Eva doing so. Her family was furious with her for “ruining” someone’s career (they’re all about image and not really the best listeners) and she was treated with a cold shoulder.
With her reputation in shambles, Eva took off on an impromptu road trip with her friends to New York City. She fell in love with the lights, the sounds, the smells, and the people. After a week, she moved from Cambridge and transferred to Columbia.
She graduated on time with a Bachelor’s degree in psychology rather than pre-law and focused her attention on graduate school to earn her Master’s. Until one day, she walked into her class to see Nate working as a TA.
Terrified he’d do the same thing at Columbia that he did at Harvard, Eva ran. She packed her things into her car and took off again. Her destination was anywhere she felt safe and her car broke down in Los Angeles. Nearly 2800 miles away and Nate couldn’t find her, she made the City of Angels her home. Krav Maga became her sanctuary and helped her take back her control. She finished graduate school and became a behavioral analyst at a nearby hospital.
The best laid plans of mice and men often go awry was a quote that she started to live by and it was especially true when she built a wall around her heart and resolved to never let anyone take it down. After Nate, Eva couldn’t let herself go there again. Not when everything blew up so spectacularly. She just didn’t know how true her personal quote was until she met Cedrick.
Prior to Cedrick, she hadn’t put much thought into marriage or a family. Her own family was a prop. Everything was hidden behind forced smiles, image, vanity, and status. With Cedrick, however, that wall not only fell, but disintegrated as if it had never been there to begin with.
The birth of Kylie and Sebastian changed her views on everything. Eva went from being a terrified victim (while she fancied herself a survivor, she refuses to face what happened at Harvard) to a devoted mother and wife. She maintains that she would never expose her children to the upbringing she had. The oppressing mold she was forced to conform to would not exist with them.
Shortly after Eva married Cedrick, she started getting anonymous letters at work. When she ignored those by ripping them up and throwing them away, it grew into phone calls with hangups. When she started ignoring those and blocking the number, the problem grew worse until the twins were born and she received photos of her taking care of them at home. Photos of her with her husband. Surveillance-style candid photos of her out and about, getting lunch with colleagues, and more. Eva’s not entirely sure how to tell her husband, as she tried to keep talk of her abusive ex to a minimum.

She understands needing help, needing someone to hold her hand, or just needing a friend and she never wants anyone to feel alone or like they have to go through anything by themselves like she has.
Andie learned from a very young age that hiding behind a smile can cover up all of the trauma that was her home life and has carried that with her into adulthood. You’ll never catch her without a smile on her face.
She goes strictly by Andie. Her father used to call her Andrea and now if someone uses that name she is taken back to that place...so she avoids it by telling everyone her name is Andie and it is NOT short for anything.
Andie has mastered the ability to seem carefree and like an open book. Ask anyone and they will think they know everything about her- but in reality she never tells anyone anything of importance. Her childhood is practically nonexistent.
Background:
Andie grew up cowering. Always trying to make herself small. Don’t speak too loud, don’t stir the pot, don’t leave anything out. Be the perfect child. Be nonexistent. All of this because of their abusive father. He never physically laid a hand on her, but the sound of his yelling and her mothers screaming was enough to teach Andie to keep silent.
She focused her efforts instead on writing everything down. Hide in the closet with her younger sibling and write down every sound; all the whimpers, the crashes, the expletives. If she could just write everything down then maybe she could get them out of this situation. Just because she couldn’t use her voice didn’t mean she couldn’t use her words.
Her mother later was using Andies writings to help get away from their father- the idea that a divorce and running away could save all of their lives. And it worked, at least as far as Andie is concerned.
Once the family moved in with their grandparents Andie really came out of her shell. She took it upon herself to stop being a victim. He was gone- out of their lives...he would never find them. She projected a care free spirit, began playing music in the house (to fill the silence), and helped her mom pick up the pieces. It was only at night, or when she was alone that she let herself be vulnerable.
She was only home for 2 years without her older brother (when he joined the Navy Seals) when the night terrors started. Andie started to think that maybe their father would find them. And what if he did? What would she be able to do to protect their family against this man who was larger than life itself in her mind?
She still has those night terrors to this day, replaying every word her father ever spoke to her. Every time he came home drunk or angry. Every time he raised his fist. Andie wakes up in a cold sweat more often then she wakes up to her alarm clock...if she can sleep at all
As soon as she turned 18 she left for college. Determined to get out of the house that never quite felt like home to her.
Moving away for college did three things for Andie:
it made her independent- she was strong enough on her own.
it introduced her to drugs- who needs to be present when you can be high? (just weed tho)
it brought one night stands into the picture- if she could feel loved for a short time without the possibility of getting hurt...what is the downside?
Her secret: she learned about the possible downside of one night stands after she hooked up with a married man almost a year ago. They met at a bar, he was handsome and a good dancer. She has always liked older men. One thing lead to another and she was sitting, alone, on her bathroom floor with a positive pregnancy test in her hands. She hadn’t ever even gotten his phone number... she barely even remembered his name and now she was going to have his baby? No way.
It took Andie a week to work up the courage to tell someone. To ask someone to stand by her side as she did one of the hardest things she would ever have to do in her life. Now that it is all over Andie has a hard time around children. She is constantly imagining what life would be like had she kept the child and the only person who knows is __(?)___ *I’m leaving this a little up in the air...so if you want your character to be this person HMU!!*

luca saige du pont was an angel in the du pont family. the little girl with the chubby cheeks, freckles, curly brown hair & bright blue eyes. she was very bashful & timid as a child, she would hide behind her parents legs to avoid speaking with strangers, and would clutch onto her parent’s hands for dear life.
luca had always been shy and hesitant as a child. she was always attached to her parent’s side, and dealt with some pretty severe separation anxiety. in hopes of breaking her out of her shell, her mom had signed her up for dance classes. she instantly fell in love with it, and was a natural.
while luca was shy in person, on stage she really shined. she cried after her first recital was over, saying that she never wanted to leave the stage.
dance really helped luca with her anxiety. it helped her feel like she had control of it, like she could go to dance and all of her worries would just slip away.
but, after her mother passed away, all of it slipped away and all control luca had on her life & anxiety completely disappeared. her eating disorder started as a way to cope with the death of her mother & her father’s arrest.
it started out as eating healthier foods, then turned intro restricting calories, and is now at cutting out full meals and eating only what she needs to get her through the day. it’s spiraled, but luca is still convinced that she has it all under control and she’s fine.

meet my chaotic baby orion joel, one of the eldest joel children !
she was your typical try hard in high-school, always doing everything and anything to try and get into her dream school. she was captain of the cheer team, president of the student council and in the end her hard work paid off landing her at usc.
uni was nothing like orion had imagined, she went from being smartest in her class to being with thousands of others that were just like her.
she did like the new found freedom though, she loved being able to stay up all night and go to parties to drink and smoke with out getting scolded by her parents.
she started falling behind in some classes, losing all motivation to study or work and her mother’s sudden death only made it worse.
deciding university wasn’t for her, orion dropped out mid semester with out telling anyone, she saw no point in wasting dad's money if she was going to fail anyway.
she’s been trying to look for jobs to pass the time but her luck isn’t the best.

she's style... she's grace... she's in your face. this girl is confrontational as F U C K. if you say something about her or her family she'll go up to you (all 4'10" & 92 pounds of her) all "what did you say? you wanna talk shit? talk it then bitch. nothing to say now? that's what i thought, keep my fucking name out of your mouth while you're still able to speak". very very... mouthy.
she's also violent. sheee has been in many physical fights (both won and lost) and will not hesitate, bitch.
she CAN be nice, and there are people who have only seen the nice side. but there are also people who have only seen her bitchy side and those people are most likely her enemies.
she's very sarcastic and can be short with people (not just in height). she's not a huge talker unless you KNOW each other, so if you ask her an elaborate question but it's easy to answer, you're gonna get a "yes" or a "no". straight to the point.
she owns her own hair/tattoo/piercing shop. how does she own her own business at only 25 years old? easy. she went to cosmetology school and took art classes, along with training classes. she knew she wanted to do at least one of those things later on in the future so she prepared herself ahead of time and did all three at the same time. she became an apprentice at a piercing studio and was quick to make friends with the owner at the time. the owner was wanting to expand, but didn't know what to do for the bigger half of the studio. elvira suggested making it a hair salon and just have them separated by a breezeway entrance, the owner thought that was a fantastic idea and thus the hair salon was made. because it was elvira's idea, the owner gave her part ownership of the salon and the tattoo/piercing shop, but when he retired, he left the entire business to her and she became the sole owner and changed the name to "life in the fast lane" (cause her last name is lane... get it? i know, it was bad)
something people might notice about elvira that really sticks out is her hair. ever since she was old enough, she started bleaching and dying her hair crazy colors. it's a normal occurrence to see her with green blue and yellow hair. but now it's more frequent. almost as if it's every other day. and people talk. people talk a LOT. some talk shit and say she's going to ruin her hair (which she did, she fucked it up with all that bleach), others say it's not her hair and that she's using wigs or extensions.
the only person that currently knows about her leukemia is her twin. she hasn't told the other lanes yet because she didn't want to scare them. but now that she's starting treatment and feeling worse, she knows they'll start asking questions and she doesn't want to lie to them.
if you see her around town wearing a surgical mask, mind your business.
her personality has toned down a lot. treatment is taking a lot out of her and it's noticeable that she's changed. some are genuinely worried about her and others don't give a shit, they think she's faking depression for attention (she's not above doing that, but she's not doing it).
she's been in the hospital a lot lately and when she isn't there, she's at home complaining about the way food tastes.
has a very dark sense of humor but some subjects are off limits even for her.
sooo even though she's a major bitch in general, she's going to need friends. like real friends that she's known forever, friends from the hospital (not just cancer patients), stuff like that. i'm sure the news about her cancer is going to get out, so i would even be down for a plot where someone befriends her because they pity her, and even an enemy turned friend. so with that said, this is elvira and i would love to plot so please hit me up!

wisteria will pretty much answer to anything, but she mostly introduces herself as wisty or wisteria
miss wisty was born deaf & with a congenital heart defect. at just four days old, she had open heart surgery to fix an atrial septal defect (a hole in the atrium wall that divides the upper two chambers of the heart). although she no longer has the hole in her heart, she still has to be careful about getting overworked. her heart still works harder than a normal healthy heart would because there are other complications that come hand in hand, which you can read about HERE, HERE, HERE (supraventricular tachycardia & wolf-parkinson-white syndrome)
she can still do everything someone with a healthy heart can do, she just has to be more careful about it and not overwork herself
wisty had surgery for cochlear implants at twelve years old. she still had 20% of her hearing so she wasn’t completely deaf, she could still hear a bit, but the implants helped a lot. now she has 75% of her hearing, which is way more than she ever thought she’d be able to achieve. although she can hear better, she still uses a lot of sign language because she spent so many years using it has her main language
wisteria has a five year old son named julian mason holden, better known as j.j. she got pregnant with him during a one night stand. although she’d seen the guy around, she never told him she got pregnant, so even if he knew she was, he had no idea that it was his baby. she was scared to tell him about julian because she knew he was going to college and didn’t want to mess that up for him
she was raised by a single mother named emilia renaldi. wisty was told all about her father from her mother’s point of view, that he was tall dark and handsome, considerate, suave, a good man at heart. so she was bound and determined to find her father, to finally see who he truly way. she was aware that her father had an affair with her mother --- which she wasn’t keen on --- but she had no right to judge someone for their flaws because everyone has them and there’s always a reason for one’s actions, even if she doesn’t agree with them
wisty’s mother was the only person she had around to raise her. she was an only child and because of her heart condition, she was a bit sheltered. wisty and emilia were going to the store one day while julian was at school and they got into a car accident. wisty escaped with minor injuries, but emilia lost her life on impact. to this day, wisty is terrified of vehicles
although emilia told wisty all about her father, it wasn’t enough information to track him down. thankfully, she found a box while going through her mother’s things that contained love letters and pictures. after a few weeks of googling and research, she finally found his address and mustered up the courage to finally meet him to tell him who she was and tell him about emilia’s passing. she wanted to get to know him and be in his life if he allowed her to. but she knows that she probably won’t be in good graces with the other holden children. she knows that sharing blood and sharing a name doesn’t mean you’re family and she won’t push the other holdens to like her. she just asks that they don’t judge her for mr. holden’s actions because she didn’t choose to be brought into it
now that all of that is out of the way... wisteria is a kind, loving, generous woman. she’ll help who she can, and she’s a people pleaser
she likes to be liked and she tries her hardest to be likable, but if someone doesn’t like her, it’s not the end of the world to her
she loves will all of her heart. so if she tells you she loves you... she means it, whether it’s romantic or platonic or familial
very easy to get along with. she tries to see things from all sides of a situation and will express her opinion, but not belittle others or tell them that their opinion or point of view is wrong
she doesn’t judge people for their actions. she believes everything happens for a reason and it’s not her job to judge, just accept people as they are. it doesn’t mean that she has to like someone if they’re just plain evil. but she will accept that’s who they are
she’s really into music. she’s always listening to something or singing. it’s mostly throwback tunes
loves to watch crime documentaries even though they freak her out

she's style... she's grace... she's in your face. this gir is confrontational as F U C K. if you say something about her or her family she'll go up to you (all 4'10" & 92 pounds of her) all "what did you say? you wanna talk shit? talk it then bitch. nothing to say now? that's what i thought, keep my fucking name out of your mouth while you're still able to speak". very very... mouthy.
she's also violent. sheee has been in many physical fights (both won and lost) and will not hesitate, bitch.
she CAN be nice, and there are people who have only seen the nice side. but there are also people who have only seen her bitchy side and those people are most likely her enemies.
she's very sarcastic and can be short with people (not just in height). she's not a huge talker unless you KNOW each other, so if you ask her an elaborate question but it's easy to answer, you're gonna get a "yes" or a "no". straight to the point.
she owns her own hair/tattoo/piercing shop. how does she own her own business at only 25 years old? easy. she went to cosmetology school and took art classes, along with training classes. she knew she wanted to do at least one of those things later on in the future so she prepared herself ahead of time and did all three at the same time. she became an apprentice at a piercing studio and was quick to make friends with the owner at the time. the owner was wanting to expand, but didn't know what to do for the bigger half of the studio. elvira suggested making it a hair salon and just have them separated by a breezeway entrance, the owner thought that was a fantastic idea and thus the hair salon was made. because it was elvira's idea, the owner gave her part ownership of the salon and the tattoo/piercing shop, but when he retired, he left the entire business to her and she became the sole owner and changed the name to "life in the fast lane" (cause her last name is lane... get it? i know, it was bad)
something people might notice about elvira that really sticks out is her hair. ever since she was old enough, she started bleaching and dying her hair crazy colors. it's a normal occurrence to see her with green blue and yellow hair. but now it's more frequent. almost as if it's every other day. and people talk. people talk a LOT. some talk shit and say she's going to ruin her hair (which she did, she fucked it up with all that bleach), others say it's not her hair and that she's using wigs or extensions.
the only person that currently knows about her leukemia is her twin. she hasn't told the other lanes yet because she didn't want to scare them. but now that she's starting treatment and feeling worse, she knows the'll start asking questions and she doesn't want to lie to them.
if you see her around town wearing a surgical mask, mind your business.
her personality has toned down a lot. treatment is taking a lot out of her and it's noticeable that she's changed. some are genuinely worried about her and others don't give a shit, they think she's faking depression for attention (she's not above doing that, but she's not doing it).
she's been in the hospital a lot lately and when she isn't there, she's at home complaining about the way food tastes.
sooo even though she's a major bitch in general, she's going to need friends. like real friends that she's known forever, friends from the hospital (not just cancer patients), stuff like that. i'm sure the news about her cancer is going to get out, so i would even be down for a plot where someone befriends her because they pity her, and even an enemy turned friend. so with that said, this is elvira and i would love to plot so please hit me up!
