Reader and Chad are banned from wrestling in the apartment cause they were pushing each other around and next thing you know the coffee table is broken. They had replaced it before Sam came home but she still noticed.

Chad normally wouldn't try, (even if he now could put up a decent fight) he tried when they were kids and didn't have fun, hence why he would back away whenever Tara called upon Reader's help. But it was a dare from Mindy that he could wrestle with Reader, so, there goes the coffee table.

Sam absolutely notices. Her disappointment is immeasurable and her day is ruined.

Reader either drives Sam to work or walks her there when they move. Like they both leave for work at around the same time so it’s no trouble and it just makes Reader feel better knowing Sam isn’t walking in the dark alone. Tara is very grateful for it too. Both her people are safer together

Funny how you mention that, seeing as I may have written a bit concerning that in chapter 13. Anyway, I can see it happening. I can also see Sam being like: "Stay with Tara, I can take care of myself" I'm guessing there would be a compromise? As in, Sam letting Reader pick her up after late night at work. Bonus points if Tara is in the car as well.

Pause for a second. Seriously though, I get not wanting to spoil your story but if you are going to kill reader are you going to tag the chapter with character death? Like I know it’s scream and people die, I get that. But it always makes me feel weird when the person I’m being told the story through gets killed or dies. I don’t know how to explain it. But like, could there maybe be a heads up of some sort for that? Please?

If you want spoiler answer, send a private message. I get what you're saying, but I'm not going to spoil the entire story and take away what little tension there is just to reassure one person.

I suppose it depends partly on if your Tara only speaks English. Because if we stick to generic nicknames and avoid ‘Baby’ or ‘Babe’ because of Amber that leaves us mostly with silly ones or ones that I couldn’t see rolling off the tongue in like a fight scene or something. Like “Darling, look out!” Doesn’t really work unless you’re a vampire. Lol ‘Love’ is a good catch all but Reader already uses it so I don’t know how you feel about Tara using it. Hmm

Hmmm indeed. I don't live in the U.S. so I can't say for sure, but from the research I did I didn't get the impression that studying a second language is a mandatory school subject and I don't see Christina paying for Tara to learn another language by herself. In canon or my story. So if she did learn another language, she'd probably start learning quite late, and wouldn't learn consistently between 5 and 6, and I don't know if she'd be comfortable enough with it, at this point in the story, to use it for a nickname.

I want to say Baby is off the table, but I just keep coming back to it, as if that would be the exact nickname Tara would use. Use it to show she is free from Amber completely? I don't know at this point.

Babe might not be off the table, yet I feel like it would break the scene because it just, I don't know, doesn't sound serious to me. Darling just sounds too serious and Love, well, it could work, but still, Reader took it... Hmmm...

I do hope at least someone is amused by me overthinking and fussing over a tiny detail.

The vampire reference went right over my head, by the way.

I do believe Tara would choose Sam over reader. Of course, as Thomas pointed out, the choice would be excruciating; and she’d be overcome with immense, long-lasting guilt/grief. Even though reader has been there for Tara, and has been the only one to not abandon her, I feel deep down that Tara would put her family above all else (even though, at this point, reader should be considered her family)

As for Tara choosing Sam, honestly, yeah, I agree with everything you said. That's kind of been something I mentioned a chapter ago. Both pairs of siblings would choose each other over their lovers if forced to choose. No matter how much the choice would destroy them. Thomas pointing it out, however, is a low blow, because, well, he's not exactly wrong.

I mean, I am really happy you think that, but have you read like: Let the light in by the-oblivious-writer or He hung up and It's not your fault by persevereforhappyending? Amazing multi-chapter stories. Or Protect her by house-of-lovin?

Believe me, I am thankful for the compliment, and I am not putting my own story down, the ones I mentioned are just that amazing.

The difference is Tara is possessive because it’s something Reader made for her, and Sam is possessive cause it’s damn good hot cocoa and unless you’re Tara(and maybe Y/N in some cases) Sam doesn’t strike me as one to share her things 😆

Oh, definitely, but I also like to think Sam, after day of being overprotective and caring, likes being cared for as well by those that she trusts. It's the small things that count and this is her future sister-in-law, so you know, there might be a bit of that somewhere in there as well.

Sam stealing one of Tara’s hoodies because she just needed something quick, except it’s not actually Tara’s it’s Readers. Reader sees her and just tilts their head a little but just decides to go with it, because Tara steals so many of their clothes Sam may as well too. That leaves Tara to tell Sam later. And Reader isn’t sure if they want to be around when that happens or not.

Okay, I'm stuck on Tara's reaction here. Sam definitely can't look Reader in the eyes, too embarrassed. Reader, as you said, doesn't mind. Oh, but Tara... I'm stuck between Tara being very possessive over the clothes she stole (being like: "hug her, have bonding days with her, I love you and I love that you get along, but hands off my clothes that were once Y/N's") or just having a laugh and being chill about it.

The same way Sam and Reader have bonding days and Tara and Readers have date days; Sam and Tara have sister days. Reader usually makes themselves scarce or they go out. It’s important to both the carpenter girls to rebuild their bond and add to it. But like the other days, they always make sure to bring back food or something for Reader.

Okay, that's lovely. I especially love how these headcanons turned out to be about Reader and Tara's relationship on one side and the trio having their own little family on the other.

And yes, Reader absolutely supports Tara and Sam having their sister days.

Sam falling asleep slumped over the kitchen table doing paperwork and waking up tucked in on the couch. Tara and Reader had worked as a team to get her moved to somewhere she could be comfortable and warm. Tara even leaves her a note for when she wakes up so she doesn’t think someone broke into the apartment and did it or something. Reader adds a smiley face to the note. Just cause

I love this, this happens, one tiny thing though. Reader could carry Tara around with stab and gunshot wounds. Healthy reader can definitely carry Sam. However! It's Sam and Tara wants to help. So it looks kinda like this:

Reader carries Sam and Tara supports her shoulders, opens the doors if needed, and then tucks Sam in.

That is if Sam doesn't wake up, in which case she absolutely hits Reader at least once before she realizes what is happening 🤣🤣🤣

Reader definitely adds a smiley face.

It might be even funnier if Sam actually goes on to list the differences, completely aware of what Tara means and wants, she just wants to have a laugh at Tara's reaction.

Something being too high for Sam to reach and Reader is like “do you- don’t want me to get it or” and Sam is so huffy about it.

..; “tara barks, i bite” that was so- wow omg , as much as amber was making it seem offensive (?) that r was tara’s guard dog , i love it sm , was wondering if you could make like - idk - headcanons (?) of how r started being tara’s guard dog and then how it came to be known by everyone that r will forever protect tara no matter what - does that make sense ?

Oh Amber definitely meant it as an insult, but all things considered, I don't think Reader considers it as an insult. As for headcanons, I'd love to do it, but that's actually a planned scene that'll come up either in the next chapter or chapter 12, depending on the decision I make for the next chapter.
