What’s your general timeline regarding fashion in Westeros, from Aegon’s conquest (or even pre-conquest) to modern times? (E.g dance of the dragons: 1400s renaissance fashion, mid 200AC: Tudor fashion). Is it just a mixing pot?
So glad u asked keep in mind I’m playing fast and loose with all this I will probably come up with a new idea in two days that makes me disregard half the stuff on here (also yes some of it is just a melting pot and years of inspo are not always in order)
1. 20s BC-Early AC years: I get a sense of very early medieval fashion around this time. Think 1100s-1200s. All of it is fairly similar, with small tweaks based on location
2. Aenys-Maegor: this is where i think the “classic” medieval European look begins to take off. So think like the 1300s
3. Jaehaerys: I haven’t strongly defined the first century AC, but I do think I have a melting pot made up of mostly early 1600s (with some typical medieval princess looks thrown in there for the daughters)
4. Viserys I-Aegon IV: to me this is very typical 1600s Western European court fashion for the dance all the way to Aegon the unworthy. The general shape and style of clothes lasts for a long time, but details change over the course of each kings reign
5. Daeron-Maekar: this is much more modest era of fashion and more subdued. It makes me think of Burgundian styles and maybe early 1400s?
6. Egg-Aerys: this is when we start creeping in on typical Renaissance fashion. The Italian renaissance I have in mind particularly for Eggs reign. We also start getting hints of 1500s English fashion
7: Current era: this is mostly 1500s English, but again still a mix of stuff. Y’all have seen my posts I have Northerners in traditional Russian clothing and Dornishmen in Syrian and Saudi outfits most of the kingdoms do not fit into the same irl era

some jerv headcanons  //  personals do not reblog !!!!!!!!
0.  not a hc, just wanna say ill probably be referring to him as jerv or j or something on hc posts now since THE JERV FANS SEEM TO FIND MY POSTS NO MATTER WHAT AND REBLOG THEM ?  why !
i.  anyways, he was diagnosed with paranoid schizophrenia during the era of the dsm-iv.  in the dsm-v, subsets of schizophrenia have been removed, but paranoid schizophrenia was not an accurate diagnosis for him anyways - he has positive and negative symptoms, so undifferentiated would be a better diagnosis.  but i digress, that’s out of date anyways.  he experiences mild auditory hallucinations, mostly music/musical instruments, though there are some occurrences of voices.  delusions are his primary source of psychosis, as well as abnormal behaviors linked to his child-like perception of self.  he has comorbid anxiety and depression.  he’s very erratic.
ii.  he has a tendency toward addictive behaviors, though this mostly takes the form of cannabis use.  it’s debatable whether this is helpful or not because marijuana has links to worsening schizophrenia (cause or correlation based on self-medication is the question), and it has a direct link to systems likely related to schizophrenia - studies find that people with schizophrenia seem to have reward processing deficits.  THC is an immediate and reliable and intense reward.  cannabis also contains cannabidiol, which has some antipsychotic properties.  and, of course, weed’s also used for anxiety.  overall, his nonadherence to his anti-psychotics (because he is in denial of his own disorder at times) makes his use of marijuana look a bit more positive because it’s weed or nothing.
iii.  tacking onto the addictive behaviors, he doesn’t use other drugs because he doesn’t like the idea of casual drug abuse, but he does spend a good chunk of time trying to make emotion altering gadgets because he wants to make something that “will make everyone happy!” which lowkey he wants to be high/not depressed.  he has an obsession with the idea of Making Everything Nice and Good, that’s primarily the reasoning for his mind control tech creation.  he wants a fairy-tale you guys !!!  a nice children’s story delusion.  why can’t everyone just be nice?  he’ll just have to force it.
iv.  he gets paroled sometimes because he technically hasn’t killed anyone with his bare hands, only indirectly - usually defensive, bar times like his first crime.  he killed a close-knit baseball team because he was led to believe that one of them was a r*pist (and they’re all friends, so they’re apologists!).  ends up it was a false accusation that was never supposed to get out in the first place, let alone have him take on a vigilante role.  he will be cruel towards people like that.  still, it’s hard to legally tack a long sentence onto him when he only “influences people” (sound familiar to all y’all who follow my kilgr.ave blog??).  you have to have a pretty damn good lawyer prosecuting him.
v.  because of his smoking habit, he’s gotten parole violations for it smh.  he tries really hard to get his outpatient psychiatrist to legally prescribe him medical marijuana, but no one wants to give a schizophrenic man who suffers severe psychosis weed.  so all that shit abt weed’s effects on schizophrenia i just listed up there?  he gets real mad and starts ranting about that, and it pisses him off that everyone seems to forget he’s a NEUROSCIENTIST he KNOWS HIS SHIT he went through YEARS of schooling he has the student loans to PROVE IT.
vi.  he likes to visit arthur and they have an open dialogue about it as two brain-studyin boys with schizophrenia.  arthur chooses alcohol abuse though, rifp
vii.  he tries not to smoke more than necessary, but he does smoke socially if someone else is partaking in some sort of substance abuse.  so, when he’s with jon and jon’s getting mad drunk, he sometimes will smoke with him.  it’s kind of an excuse, kind of just to not be sitting around watching someone else do drugs alone.
viii.  it calms him down, but it makes him more cuddly, so you bet your ass that when jon knocks out, jerv is there to snuggle with him and be his babysitter essentially.
some references, if only for my own use if i look back at this post:   substance abuse comorbidity  |  self medicating  |  trigger or treatment?
