We're in the car together and I hand you the aux cord. What are you playing?
okay so. i asked you for additional details on this because the true answer is: it depends! i'm not just gonna put on whatever i want, that's what MY car is for! so you wrote a short fiction:
Rain beats down on the windshield and the wipers meander up and down periodically, slicking the glass with stray beads of water. You sit at the steering wheel, squeezing tight, headlights on. It's pretty hard to see out there. The light from the front of the car cuts into the fog like a hot knife in butter, but it doesn't get very far. It's always raining on the west coast. Sihouetted billboards whizz past, incomprehensible shadows looming over and advertising nothing. A dead deer on the side of the road whizzes past. A large semi truck honks and your knuckles go white. You're not sure if your fingers could grip the wheel any tighter. At any moment it feels like you could either lose your control or the lunch sloshing around in your stomach. You'd eaten not thirty minutes ago, before the rainstorm started. An American diner, greasy spoon. You had a cheeseburger, fries, and a Dr. Pepper. "Can't we listen to some music?" Nova asks from the passengers seat. A little whiny. It just occurred to you then that the ride was completely silent, save for the rain beating on the windshield. You'd been driving for about six hours now, the noises all just kinda blended together. A huge pickup zooms past and your grip tightens again. Nova starts to rummage around for something. As she does you see flashing lights through the mist. A car must have veered off the side of the road. You gulp. "Here," Nova says as she hands you the tip of the aux cord. You peel one of your hands off of the wheel and shakily reach out as best you can, give the current circumstances, to gingerly grab it.
What do you play?
...
and so iiiiiii am gonna play uhhhh hmmm.. my first instinct was this
but i feel like death cab in the rain on the west coast is a little bit of a copout answer lmfao so

hey wow new tag just dropped: #my voice
nothing new in there but lyra musicblogging was full of stuff that wasn't me singing so this is really sort of a sub-tag. anyway. if you're into that sort of thing, there's my sordid collection
