Dwarf Fortress x Deep Rock Galactic - Part 5
“I want to fight!” Urist protested.
Ulla scratched the back of her neck. “I dunno, lad... You’ve only watched the corporate training videos. It’s a helluva lot more intense once you’re in the tunnels, you know...”
“I’ve seen combat before,” Urist explained. “I’ve spilled blood! I’ve fought goblin hordes! I’ve even helped to take down a great beast ten times my own size, and there were only six other dwarves there with me! We only suffered three casualties!”
“Can you fire a gun?” Thorn asked as they approached. “Machine-carved jadiz, launched to lethal speeds with a nitra-magnite powder mix, ignited with a flint primer. Do you know how to aim and fire such a thing out of a gun, with the ability to kill?”
“The only part I understood was ‘flint’...” Urist admitted.
“For the love of...” muttered Thorn.
“I don’t understand the problem!” Urist spat. “Just give me a fine spear, and I’ll send those glyphids running back to their nests in no time!”
“A spear??” exclaimed Thorn, wide-eyed. “You expect us to hand your sorry arse over to the glyphid hordes with a bloody spear?!”
“Why not?” asked Donner, emerging from medical, freshly-showered and stark-naked. He walked over to one of the wardrobe dispensers to fetch a new outfit.
“’Why not’??” Ulla replied. “Donner, the lad wants to handle *modern* problems with *stone-age* solutions!!”
“Hold on,” the driller said, holding up a hand. “Technically, the spears that Urist has trained with would be been made of steel, at least; he’s mentioned steel before, so his people must have been at that level of technology, or higher.”
Urist nodded, confirming Donner’s assumptions. Ulla rolled her eyes.
“Right,” Thorn said, exasperated. “So what’s the latest thing you know, newbie? Spear? Bow and arrow? Crossbow? Musket? Revolver? Do you know what a clip or magazine is??”
“Well,” stammered Urist, “we had arch—”
“Also,” Donner interrupted, still naked, “he has the muscle memory and combat training of a speardwarf. He claims to have slain great beasts, with help. I say let him have a few rounds of glyphids, with a spear in hand. See what happens. Have someone with a gun nearby, just in case. Rock and Stone, and all that.”
Urist had hope in his eyes, and looked to Thorn and Ulla, like a child asking for approval.
Ulla wanted no part of this, and made a gesture to brush away the conversation as she walked back to the Abyss Bar.
Thorn mulled it over for a few seconds, though. “Feck it all. Sure. Let’s give the crazy bastard a spear, and I’ll join him on his first drop.”
“Wait, truly??” Urist said, filing with excitement. “This isn’t you pissing about, right??”
“Yes, I’m quite serious,” Thorn confirmed. “I’ll buy you ten rounds at the bar, if you manage to do a full drop without my guns. Hell, I’ll buy you five, if you kill any glyphid larger than a swarmer all by yourself, so long as you make it back to the space rig with minimal injury, regardless of how many shots I fire. It’s a deal.”
They and the newcomer shook hands on it. Urist was beside himself with eagerness, while Thorn was deadpan as usual.
“This is a reckless and irresponsible decision, gunner,” said Klaus’s voice over the intercom. “I’m not unlocking that drop pod, just so you can feed some hopeless traveler to the bugs. It would be an egregious waste of resources, for one thing.”
“Yeah,” Ulla added angrily, shouting from the bar. “Also, it would be bad, Thorn. You would feel bad. Sending new people on suicide missions is bad, you understand??”
Thorn crossed their arms. “Obviously we go with a hazard 1 drop. Donner said the Salt Pits should be clear, right? Besides, good ol’ Klaus had no fucking problems whatsoever sending me into a wave of bugs on my first training drop. Alone. You remember that, Klaus?”
The space rig was silent for a moment before Klaus responded: “Well, you lived, didn’t you? I told you that I had faith in your ability.”
“Sure,” said Thorn, “after you said your goodbyes, and killed the comm link. You only backpedaled after seismic calmed down, because everything else was dead, except me.”
Silence, again. Reiner emerged from his capsule room, and jogged over to his locker to retrieve something.
“Ugh, fine,” said Klaus. “There’s a spot in the Salt Pits that practically rates a zero on the hazard scale. If you go now, it should stay that way when you land. Next spike in bug activity is predicted to occur in 45 minutes. It’s a simple morkite run, in what could be the most boring cave system in all of Hoxxes.”
The scout eagerly came up to Urist with a metal spear in hand. “Take this, before you go! This baby is modified from a standard-issue pickaxe, but the spearhead is an authentic one that my great-great-great-grandmother used, way back in an old mountainhome! Real, original, dwarven steel!”
Urist couldn’t believe it. The entire spear was made of metal, and finely-crafted.
“It’s a family hierloom,” Reiner continued, “but it would mean a lot to me if someone like you would slay a glyphid with it. I think my ancestors would have loved to see it in action again, especially in traditionally-trained hands. I’m too used to guns and pickaxes, so it’s been collecting dust this whole time.”
“It’s perfect!” Urist said with awe, gently accepting the spear. He started with some careful movements, testing inertia, before moving up to full-force swings, causing the scout and gunner to take a few steps back. “It’s absolutely wonderful; you have my deepest thanks, Reiner! Truly! Rock and Stone!”

Launched in December 2020, the Magnite has quickly captured the hearts of Indian car buyers, recently surpassing a significant milestone – over 1 lakh units sold domestically in the first quarter of 2024! This impressive achievement is further bolstered by the fact that Nissan has consistently shipped over 30,000 units of the Magnite for three consecutive financial years. Nissan Magnite A Consistent Performer: Sales Figures Speak Volumes Nissan's commitment to the Indian market and the Magnite's compelling value proposition are reflected in its consistent sales performance. The slight dip in sales during FY22-23 can be attributed to the overall market fluctuations and the ongoing semiconductor chip shortage. However, the initial launch timing towards the end of 2020 also explains the lower sales figures for FY20. Unveiling the Nissan Magnite: A Feature-Packed Powerhouse The Nissan Magnite isn't just about impressive sales numbers; it's a well-rounded subcompact SUV that delivers on both style and substance. Transmission options include a 5-speed manual transmission, a 5-speed AMT (Automated Manual Transmission), and a CVT (Continuously Variable Transmission) for a smoother and more comfortable driving experience. Packed with Features for Enhanced Comfort and Safety The Nissan Magnite doesn't compromise on features, offering a plethora of modern amenities to elevate your driving experience. Overview
Available exclusively in a single-tone Onyx Black exterior finish for a uniform look

Distinctive Features
This limited edition Magnite Kuro model sets itself apart in several ways:
Striking 16” black alloy wheels provide a muscular stance
Body cladding, roof rails, and dealership decals in black further accentuate the exterior styling
A wireless charger in the front cabin adds to the high-tech ambiance
All-black interior including seats, dashboard, and carpeting creates a premium atmosphere

For those looking to make a bold style statement on the road, the Magnite Kuro presents a compelling option combining substance and allure. Test drives will allow buyers to better appreciate both the head-turning aesthetics and impressive driving dynamics carried over from the standard Magnite range.
Key Features and Specs of the Nissan Magnite Kuro
Tumblr media
The Nissan Magnite Kuro is powered by a 999 cc 3-cylinder engine that delivers 71.02 bhp of maximum power at 6250 rpm. This allows the car to achieve a top speed of 152 mph.
The engine is paired with either a 5-speed manual or 5-speed automated manual transmission. The automated manual transmission (AMT) offers the convenience of an automatic with better efficiency.
The Magnite Kuro has a fuel capacity of 40 liters which translates to an ARAI-certified mileage of 20 kmpl. This means it should deliver a range of approximately 800 km when fully fueled.
As a compact SUV, the Magnite Kuro measures 3,994 mm in length, 1,758 mm in width, and 1,572 mm in height with a wheelbase of 2,500 mm. The ground clearance is an impressive 205 mm.
The Magnite Kuro features a 7-inch TFT instrument cluster as well as an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system compatible with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Other tech and convenience features include push-button start/stop, rear parking sensors and cameras, and keyless entry.
On the safety front, the Magnite Kuro offers dual front airbags, ABS with EBD, rear parking sensors, and ISOFIX child seat anchors as standard across all variants. Additional safety features are also offered on higher variants.
With its combination of style, features, and value pricing aimed at young, first-time buyers, the Magnite Kuro looks set to shake up the South African compact SUV segment.
How the Kuro Compares to the Standard Magnite
The Nissan Magnite Kuro Edition is a special trim level of the popular Magnite compact SUV. It builds upon the features of the higher XV trim while adding several exclusive styling and technology elements:
Styling
The Kuro Edition features an all-black exterior, including blacked-out wheels, headlights, and other trim elements. This gives it a sportier, more aggressive look than the standard Magnite.
Red accents on the brake calipers and interior stitching provide an eye-catching contrast against the black exterior.
Smoked headlights and taillights also contribute to the Kuro Edition's distinctive presence.
Technology
The Kuro Edition comes equipped with a wireless phone charger, allowing you to charge your phone without any cables.
A 360-degree camera system provides a bird's-eye view around the vehicle when parking or maneuvering in tight spaces.
Pricing
The Kuro Edition carries a moderate price premium over an equivalently equipped standard Magnite XV. The special styling and technology upgrades help justify the extra cost.
Even with the premium, the Magnite Kuro Edition is very competitively priced compared to other compact SUVs with similar features. It delivers strong value, especially for buyers wanting a sportier, bolder look.
Overall, the Magnite Kuro Edition builds on the standard Magnite's winning formula of style, technology, and value. With its blacked-out design and extra equipment, it offers an even more compelling option for buyers wanting to make a statement with Nissan's entry into the compact SUV segment.
Pricing and Availability of the Nissan Magnite Kuro
The Nissan Magnite Kuro edition arrives in South Africa with competitive pricing. When considering your purchase, keep the following price points and availability details in mind:
The base model Nissan Magnite Kuro starts at R323,200, while the higher-end XV trim costs R344,900. This positions the Kuro edition at a slightly lower price point than the standard Magnite lineup.
Opting for the manual transmission on lower trims can save over R20,000 compared to the automatic variant. Manual options provide good value for budget-focused buyers.
As a special limited edition model, the Magnite Kuro is produced in small batches exclusively for the South African market. This exclusivity comes at a premium over standard models.
The Kuro edition is currently on sale at Nissan dealerships across South Africa. Call your local dealer to check the availability of specific trim levels and transmission options.
Nissan South Africa is offering a 5-year/150,000km warranty on all Magnite models, including the Kuro edition. This provides excellent long-term coverage for your investment.
When equipped similarly, the Magnite Kuro is priced very competitively against rivals like the Toyota Urban Cruiser and Suzuki Vitara Brezza. Its exclusive design and limited availability make it a unique offering in the South African market. Contact your nearest Nissan dealership today to learn more or schedule a test drive.

What Makes The Nissan Magnite Such A Chic Magnet
Stylish, punchy and spacious: the Nissan Magnite has everything going for it.
Tumblr media
Over the last year or so, numerous adjectives have been used to describe the Nissan Magnite. And Nissan’s compelling SUV is deserving of each one of them. The one that really sticks, though, is ‘charismatic’. There is clearly no better word for the SUV that has been racking up sales numbers despite the numerous lockdowns. But surely, the sheer appeal of the Magnite isn’t all that surprising when you consider Nissan’s illustrious automotive heritage: the GT-R, the Leaf, the 350Z, the Bluebird… and now, the Magnite. Suffice it to say that superior engineering has been part of Nissan’s DNA for over a hundred years. And so are incandescent looks.
The Magnite is all sharp lines and angular handsomeness, and its aggressive stance is so inviting, that you want to get into the car, thumb the starter button and floor the pedal. This visual boldness and aggression is not the only reason the Magnite stands apart from other run-of-the-mill SUVs. What the Magnite has done since its launch in December last year is to overturn traditional assumptions about category, style, and class. Here is an SUV that offers a real explosion for your buck, and thanks to this combination of spot-on pricing and an assemblage of incredible attributes, the Magnite has been a threat to not just other SUVs in its class, but also to sedans and premium hatchbacks.
Take, for instance, the suite of features it comes with. The Nissan Magnite for sale is packed with segment-first features such as wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and then there is wireless charging and – wait for it – a 360-degree reversing camera and display. All of this, of course, is accompanied by a crisp 8.0-inch touchscreen, Nissan Connect, the company’s integrated audio, navigation, and communication system, smartwatch connectivity, puddle lamps, automatic climate control, steering-mounted controls and a sweet-sounding six-speaker audio system. If you think that’s impressive, you’ll be glad to know that the Magnite doesn’t lack space either. The SUV’s cabin is a serene space enlivened by quality trim and tasteful textures all around. We especially love the smart air-con knobs, the deconstructed centre console, and the double-stitched ‘denim’ on the door pads and elbow rests. Plus, those of us who practically live in our cars will dig the ginormous 10-litre glovebox.
The seats are remarkably comfortable and space is abundant, especially at the rear. This means that, irrespective of whether you are at the back, or in the driver’s seat, you’ll find your time inside the Magnite to be engaging and yet relaxing.
Since we are talking about driving, prospective Magnite owners will encounter two contenders that could do duty under its hood. These are a 1.0-litre B4D naturally-aspirated petrol engine and a 1.0-litre HRA0 turbo-petrol. The former is a naturally aspirated petrol engine that develops 72PS and is offered with a slick 5-speed manual transmission, while the 100PS turbo-petrol comes with the option of either a manual transmission or a CVT automatic. We had a blast with the latter and loved the way the Magnite performed at traffic light grands prix. It’s a lively engine that responds with great alacrity to inputs and is eager to spring out of inertia. This enthusiasm comes in handy, especially in urban situations and makes driving practically effortless. Keep going towards – and on – an open road, and two things stand out: linear power delivery and refinement. Should you be in the mood for some fun, simply select ‘Sport’ to make the experience even better and revel in the punch that the engine delivers.
Tumblr media
The Magnite is equipped with a pliant suspension, and that means a comfortable ride irrespective of the terrain the SUV is on. The suspension soaks up undulations with ease and admirably tackles larger threats that rise up from the rain-battered roads of our cities.
As impressive is the SUV’s straightline stability, which inspires confidence at high speeds. Another highlight? The well-weighted steering makes zipping through traffic and into and out of narrow lanes a breeze. What about safety, you ask? Well, that has always been a priority area for Nissan, and it’s no wonder the Magnite has, apart from ABS with EBD and dual front airbags, features such as rear parking sensors and automatic warning hazard on heavy braking as standard. Plus, you also get electronic stability control, brake assist, ISOFIX child-seat mounts, traction control, hill start assist and a tyre pressure monitoring system.
The Nissan Magnite has clearly left an impression on everyone who has driven one. What we have here is a sharp-looking SUV that makes driving something to look forward to, that’s filled to the gills with equipment and spacious enough for five. Plus, how can one forget that it earned a 4-star safety rating in the ASEAN NCAP tests earlier this year? Now, if you add cost-effectiveness to this mix – Nissan’s capable, stylish all-rounder is the most affordable compact SUV around – you’ll realise that there is nothing quite like the Magnite.

RE Himalayan 450 have incredible cruising speeds?
Himalayan 450 ADV would be the one to debut this new 450cc engine that Royal Enfield has been growing for a very long time. It has a liquid-cooling jacket together with a big radiator to dissipate heat and it appears prefer it has a DOHC setup as effectively.
4V head will in all probability be within the combine and the expected output from this engine is round 40 bhp and 35 Nm.
How these expected figures translate into real life, is slightly attention-grabbing. In a current video by Bunny Punia YouTube channel, we are able to see a RE Himalayan 450 take a look at mule outfitted with two exhausting panniers and a top box.
These equipment will be sold separately as a part of accessories. These accessories usually are not the attention-grabbing a part of this video.
This take a look at mule was cruising at very high speeds. Bunny Punia recorded this take a look at mule from a Nissan Magnite AMT on a highway. As seen within the video below, mentioned Magnite was doing 140 km/h (indicated speed within the instrument cluster) and Himalayan 450 take a look at mule pulled away from the spying car.
While we were doing 140 on our speedometer, the bike kept pulling away + the rider was sitting upright and not crouching down + panniers don’t help in slicing through air.

That is an impressive feat for Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 because it displays the bike’s high-speed cruising abilities. Being an ADV and a touring bike, this high-speed cruising means is a solid addition to its belt. Main rivals can be upcoming KTM 390 Journey and Triumph Scrambler 400X.

What to expect?
Speedometers in vehicles do comprise some errors. OEM-equipped speed sensors are sometimes enthusiastic and normally present the next number.
Therefore, there exist specialist timing gears that may file correct vehicular speeds primarily based on GPS, calculating velocity over a distance and translating into set speed indications. I personal a contemporary Hyundai vehicle and it normally shows 10 km/h increased indicated speed.
Stated Nissan Magnite AMT may have an enthusiastic speedometer as effectively. So, if we contemplate a margin of error, it might be travelling at round 10 km/h to 15 km/h slower than the indicated pace.
So, RE Himalayan 450 could probably hit 130 km/h with comparatively low stress after which some. Which continues to be impressive contemplating air drag from two panniers and an upright rider.
Upcoming Himalayan 450 is rumoured to function a 6-speed gearbox and would possibly pack a slipper clutch and ride-by-wire throttle, enabling cruise management.
What it’ll offer are, wire-spoke wheels, long-travel suspension, dual-purpose tyres, USD telescopic forks at front and rear mono-shock suspension setup, a tall windscreen, and a completely digital circular instrument screen that additionally featured on Scram 650 take a look at mule. Launch is likely in early 2024.

Is Hysus Digital Only For Big Businesses
In the fast-paced world of digital marketing, assumptions can often shape perceptions. One prevalent misconception is that agencies like Hysus Digital are exclusively tailored for big businesses. Tata Nexon Facelift Test Mule Spotted In The Wild Once Again
Tumblr media
● Tata began testing the Nexon facelift in early 2023.
● It is the second major refresh while the first facelift came in early 2020.
● Exterior updates include a new alloy wheel design, vertically stacked LED headlights and connected LED taillights.
● Inside, it will have a new steering wheel, updated upholstery and centre console.
● Likely to get with a 10.25-inch touchscreen, up to six airbags and 360-degree camera.
● Expected to be launched in early 2024 with prices starting at Rs 8 lakh (ex-showroom)
Since the early months of 2023, there have been ample sightings of the Tata Nexon facelift undergoing testing, with the camouflage slowly reducing as time goes on. We have now spotted another test mule of the updated SUV on tests – although still draped in heavy camouflage – suggesting it’s inching closer to being production-ready. This will be the second major overhaul for the sub-4m SUV after the 2020 update.
Design Details Revealed So Far
Its profile is unlikely to get any major design changes save for the revised alloy wheels. At the back, the updated Nexon will have a reshaped boot, a tweaked bumper and connected LED taillights. The facelifted Nexon will also come with dynamic turn indicators as seen on a test mule recently. All these design changes will likely make their way on the Nexon’s EV versions as well

Design changes on the Nexon facelift will be carried forward inside the cabin as well. Some of the interior revisions include a Tata Avinya-like steering wheel (with a rectangular display in the centre), violet upholstery, and a slightly redone centre console.
Features on board the facelifted Tata Nexon will likely include a digital driver’s display, a 10.25-inch touchscreen system, paddle shifters, wireless phone charging, ventilated front seats, and auto climate control.
Passenger safety is expected to be taken care of by up to six airbags, 360-degree camera, ISOFIX child seat anchorages, and a reversing camera.

We are expecting Tata to launch the Nexon facelift sometime early next year at an expected starting price of Rs 8 lakh (ex-showroom). It will continue to compete with the Maruti Brezza, Renault Kiger, Kia Sonet, Nissan Magnite, Mahindra XUV300 and Hyundai Venue, while also taking on crossover SUVs like the Maruti Fronx and Citroen C3.
