A Little Bird (m.m)

Mason smiled at her, a happy lovesick look on his face. She looked so perfect to him. He had been pinning over her for a couple of months now, to concerned with not screwing up their friendship to make any sort of move on her.

But the other night, while they were out celebrating their most recent win, her brother mentioned something about her liking him like that. And in a weird way her brother kinda gave him his permission to ask her out, an opportunity he wasn't about to pass up.

So there he stood in the kitchen of his friends' house, watching as she sat the kitchen table reading her book. Her back was facing him, but he knew from the amount of times he watched her reading, that her brows were furrowed and nose scrunched in concentration.

This was his moment, his opportunity. She was right there.

Placing the caffeinated drink and muffin he had gotten for her in her line of sight, Mason wrapped his arms around her shoulders and leaned in his lips hovering right behind her right ear.

"Hi Annie" his lips brushed against the soft skin. He felt the tension in her shoulders slip away as she slightly reclined into his arms and tilted her head back so she was looking at him upside down.

"Hello Mase." Annie Zegras said while setting her book down. It was some cheap romance book that was dry and missing the point of the genre. She was glad for the distraction that the cute boy brought, although it was probably only temporary, he was most likely here for her brother. "What's this?"

"That is a blueberry white mocha and savory muffin from that place around the corner that you like some much." He rattled off her regular order that she got from the shop. Trevor may have mentioned it to him at one point in time.

"Oh my god. How did you know that was my favorite." Annie's eyes got a little brighter as she dove into the breakfast Mason brought her. She took a chunk of the muffin and offered a piece to him, but he declined. "Thank you, thank you, thank you. But seriously how did you know?"

"A little bird told me that." Mason sat in the chair her to her, watching her being so happy at the small gesture. She was so pretty.

"And does that little bird have a name?" Annie closed her eyes and took a sip of the warm drink, savoring its flavor before looking over at Mason again.

"Of course not! Birds rarely have government names." He shook his head at her, his curls falling back in his face.

"It was T wasn't it?" Annie laughed at his joke, a sweet sweet sound to his ears. "Oh by the way I think the guys are upstairs playing some video game or something like that."

"I'm not here for them. I'm here to see you." Mason admitted. His heart has pounding in his chest. This was it. "Annie, I want to, um, would you like to ..." he breathed.

If only he get his words out, but the cat got his tongue. He couldn't form words. God, she was going to think he was weird and never speak to him again.

"Yes" She whispered as if she were reading his mind. A smile graced her lips as she repeated her answer to to his non existent question. "Thursday night, after the game, it'll be late, but I think I can get us a reservation somewhere."

Now it was his turn to seal the deal with a nod and mumbled yes. Mason grabbed her hand, giving a little kiss. Annie blushed and when he let go of her hand, she rubbed his cheek with her thumb. They were both smiling like crazy at each other.

It was a date.

missed you

May 18, 2022

Livia rubbed her eyes leaning her head off the glass of the plane window. She was heading back home after the Stars had gotten out of the playoffs during game seven.

She was excited to be home and she did just get to see her parents and brother as they came out to see a few of her playoffs games but she was most exicted to see her best friend Wyatt, as she hasn’t seen him since she played in Toronto in March but that was the only time she saw him since she left for Dallas in September. It’s the longest they have ever went of not seeing each other.

Livia had seen Luke in January when she played the red wings but she only saw him that once since August.

Livia also hasn’t seen her two best friends together and the three all being together in a long time and she truly misses the days she saw them everyday and spent all day together, she misses her boys and facetime can only do so much.

Livia stood up as the plane as landed and threw on her back pack and purse and grabbed her suitcase from the overhead and walked down the aisle of the plane.

She had a hoodie on and a hat so no one was recognizing her, while she does love the fans but she’s not the biggest social person so it’s not something she loves all the time.

Livia walked through the airport and to the pick up lot where her parents told her they would be. She looked over and her mouth dropped in shock as she realized they weren’t here to pick her up but Wyatt was.

“Livy!” Wyatt grinned widely seeing his best friend and the girl he’s been in love with since the first day of kindergarten.

Livia let out a giggle and hurried over to him she dropped her suitcase handle and quickly wrapped her arms around his neck tightly. Wyatt’s hands automatically wrapped around her and spun them around both of them laughing happily.

Wyatt gently set her back down on the floor and she looked up through her lashes and Wyatt was just in awe, he has always known she’s absolutely beautiful but she seems to get more beautiful every time he sees her.

“Hi.” Livia beamed at her best happily, her nose scrunching from her smile being so wide.

“Hi.” Wyatt happily chuckled out just staring at her with a large smile.

Wyatt gently pulled her into another hug, “I missed you Livy.” Wyatt whispered softly resting his chin on her shoulder and closing his eyes.

Wyatt hated this season and hated playing hockey with out his best friend and it was so odd to play on not be on the ice with Livia, he couldn’t wait till he joined her in Dallas and they get to play together again.

“I missed you too.” Livia softly whispered back, She had missed Luke terribly when he moved away and stopped playing with Wyatt and her but not playing with Wyatt was like playing with out a hand and she hated how there was always a void where she wanted Wyatt to be, she didn’t understand why she misses Wyatt more than she does Luke.

“Come on, let’s get you home Livy.” Wyatt smile couldn’t have left his face since he saw her. He threw his arm around her shoulder and grabbed her suitcase. Livia smiled happily leaned her head on his shoulder as they walked and Wyatt leaned down pressing a soft kiss of the top of her head that’s covered from her hoodie.

The silence in the cell was deafening. Viktor attempted to count the dust particles he can see in the cell and Alejandro from the side of the wall facing the door glared daggers at it. This was going to be a long night and she knew it.

Viktor takes the first shot at making conversation it seems.

He looks between her and Alejandro, “By the way, I know you both are married… to each other. Might as well let the cat out of the bag that I know while we are here and without everyone I guess?”

He studied their expressions for a moment, and when Alejandro tries to deflect, she shoots him the “can it” look. Isidora from her post on the only known chair in the room, crosses her arms, motioning him to go on.

“I— I was leaning my head against the doors of the shipping container while we were questioning Valeria, and you both stepped outside…. Izzy was calling you an idiot sir, in about ten different languages if my memory was right. And well…. my mom does the same thing to my dad when he returns from ops bent and bruised and almost dying so.”

No point in lying, after all, it is Victor. She’s known the kid long enough in his years since becoming one of the 141 since he was a rookie with lieutenant McTavish. accepted following the death of his brother Aldric, a former member himself. An infiltration and espionage specialist, his brother was killed in action while on an undercover operation at the hands of Vladimir Makarov, the asshole himself. Since then Vik has gone from a whiny Mason legacy kid to one of the best snipers and assets the 141 had, and in spite of the mountains of tragedies, he’s faced in his life he’s still Viktor.

“I guess I get to take home the lump sum of cash from the betting pool if we get out of here you know? That’s something to look forward to..!” He scratches the back of his head and makes a nervous half-laugh… then jumps from where he’s crouched in the corner of the room.

At that, Isidora shoots up from her chair and stands feet or two from where he is. She’s motioning her head downwards to look at from where he sits, hands now resting on her hips as if she’s scolding her four-year-old at home for drawing mustaches on her classmates during nap time. Even as smart as she is, being already fluent in two and a half languages. She’s just like Viktor.

His brain gets the better of him. She knows. But what the hell does he mean by that?

“Betting pool?! Care to elaborate Viktor?”

Viktor is now standing up. Shooting glances from them both. She steps a half inch closer, “Shit! Uh… well um… so—“

She cuts him off, “We have all night likely Viktor. But please, today Mason. There is a betting pool about my married life… because?”

Here comes the bumbling, “And I apologize! I’m so sorry and I am sure the team would agree! Okay okay well… everyone knows you are married right but nobody knows to who. So because of like y’all being around each other a lot right, the consensus is that you’re likely married to price and just want to keep on the down low since like…… your partners and all. 141 and mi-6 right. So uh, well, I thought like the sure price is a catch but your not one to get with anyone who you closely work with you know? Not like Soap and Willa you know? He’s not here but sorry for throwing you under the bus buddy.” He takes a deep inhale before he makes the closing statements of his defense……. Hopefully.

“It's more of a "me and soap" thing but we roped kyle into it too. Not to throw them all under the bus either, Riley said we were going to be chewed out, end up dead, and roasted for holiday dinner—“

She’s cut him off once again. She uncrosses her right hand and motions him to zip it for a moment with her index finger, “And he would be right.” Turning to the left of her, to her spouse from the right of her. Alejandro has now moved to stand with his back nearby to the door. He’s trying to save Viktor from any further embarrassment, but any more revelations and he might burst out laughing it appears.

It's a mutual feeling for her. She’s scowling to look miffed, but this is the funniest thing she’s heard said from someone all week. And there’s still Graves who yet lives and breathes and runs his mouth.

Jamie walked into the apartment seeing most of the lights all off and just a glow coming from the dinning room, “Nix?” Jamie called out as he knew Phoenix would be home as Jamie had the car. Jamie sniffed slightly and could smell something good cooking.

“In here.” Phoenix called back nervously wiping his hands on his pants as he waited for what felt like forever for Jamie to walk into the dinning room.

Jamie furrowed his brows in confusion but walked down the hallways and into the dinning room and gasped slightly seeing the dinning room.

There were lots candles around the whole room, the dining room table was decorated very fancy like a restaurant, there was sushi on the plates and Phoenix was holding a bouquet of orange tulips.

“What is all of this?” Jamie soflty asked as he looked all around and he noticed how the sushi was his favorite kind.

“Jamie, I would love if you would be my date for tonight.” Phoenix nervously asked as he stepped closer to Jamie holding the flowers in one hand.

Jamie smiled softly his cheeks flushing bright pink, “Just tonight?” Jamie teased slightly letting out a small chuckle.

“As long as you will have me.” Phoenix told Jamie and gently grabbing Jamie’s hand.

“Did you talk to Z?” Jamie titled his head curiously.

“I uh was telling him about my feelings and he may of told me that you felt the same for me.” Phoenix sheepishly explained he was glad Trevor told him that so he had enough confidence to ask Jamie out.

“And how do you feel?” Jamie soflty asked stepping closer and looking up at Phoenix.

Phoenix swallowed nervously with Jamie being so close, “I like you and i would really like for you to be my boyfriend.” Phoenix soflty spoke maintaining eye contact with Jamie.

“Yes. Yeah i would really like that.” Jamie beamed and nodded quickly.

Phoenix let out a laugh of relief, “Good.” He gently pressed a kiss to Jamie’s cheek before stepping back and pulling Jamie to the table, Phoenix pulled out the chair and Jamie sat down. Phoenix handed the flowers to Jamie before he walked around the table to sit across from Jamie.

“This is my favorite sushi.” Jamie stated as Phoenix opened the bottle of wine that’s also Jamie’s favorite.

“I know.” Phoenix simply replied and smirked slightly at Jamie making him shake his head fondly.

Jamie and Phoenix ate their sushi talking about random things before Phoenix excused himself and walked out of the room.

Jamie gently brushed his fingers over his flowers and smiled softly, he’s never gotten flowers before.

Jamie looked up and saw Phoenix walking back in with a plate, with something that smelled really good.

Jamie perked up happily when Phoenix put a steak on his plate and he beamed. Steak is already Jamie’s favorite but when Phoenix’s makes it it’s even better.

“Thank you.” Jamie smiled softly and reached over the table gently grabbing Phoenix’s once they both finished their steaks, “No one has ever done something like this for me.” Jamie sadly added, he’s never been very lucky in relationships and a lot of people in LA just wanted to try to get with him for money and no one ever has treated as kindly as Phoenix does.

“Of course Jay.” Phoenix smiled softly squeezing Jamie’s hand, he was sad no one ever treated this sweet boy the way he should he, “I wanted to do something for you because i care for you.” Phoenix’s words made him smile brighter and blush more.

“Got room for dessert?” Phoenix playfully questioned and Jamie chuckled but nodded.

Phoenix lifted Jamie’s hand pressing a soft kiss to it before he gently set it back on the table and let go of it getting up.

Jamie flushed even brighter at Phoenix’s actions and watched him walk out of the room.

Jamie stared at the door until Phoenix walked in with a round tin in his hands. Phoenix set it down in front of Jamie and Jamie beamed as he realized it was his favorite dessert, cheesecake.

“Did you make this?” Jamie asked noticing how it was a reusable pan.

Phoenix sheepishly nodded and his cheeks turned pink, “If it’s not good then-“ He was cut off by Jamie leaning up and pressing his lips to his.

Phoenix stopped talking and cupped Jamie’s face bringing him closer as he desperately kissed him back.

“It’s going to be great.” Jamie whispered against Phoenix’s lips. Phoenix smiled softly back.

Phoenix, Cam and Travis were all sitting at one table together in the cafeteria eating breakfast after the early morning skate before they are getting on the plane to Toronto for the game tonight.

Phoenix was having his mocha hot coffee, eggs, toast and potatoes, and he managed to grab his favorite oranges as there was only one left this morning.

Jamie was a few minutes late having to talk to Coach about something but he walked into the cafeteria and got some food on his plate and he frowned sadly when he saw there was no oranges left.

Jamie had looked around when he walked in to see where Phoenix was sitting and now walked over to the table and sat down in between Cam and Phoenix.

“What’s with the frown Drysy?” Travis poked at his newest teammate noticing the sad frown on his face.

“They had no more oranges left.” Jamie sadly told them, it sounded crazy but for some reason wherever the team’s kitchen gets the oranges, they are quite literally the best oranges.

Phoenix felt his heart clench funny at the sight of Jamie being unhappy and he slid his orange across the table to Jamie and it was completely worth it watching his face completely light up with a bright smile.

“Thank you! Are you sure you don’t want it?” Jamie smiled brightly but still looked concerned at Phoenix.

“I’m good all yours.” Phoenix shook his head fondly.

Travis raised a skeptical brow because in all of the years he has known his best friend never once has ever shared any food with anyone and sharing his absolute favorite food is unheard of.

Travis has noticed how much softer Phoenix is to Jamie but this was just a whole nother level of softness towards Jamie. Travis wonders if Phoenix realizes he’s in love with Jamie.

Phoenix blushed slightly at the giant smile he got from Jamie but shook his head and looked away and made eye contact with his best friend who was smirking at him knowingly.

“What?” Phoenix mouthed at Travis but Travis just shook his head with a smirk, knowing Phoenix will figure it out eventually.

Phoenix turned back to Jamie and saw Jamie holding out a piece of the orange and Phoenix softly smiled and nodded grabbing the slice happily eating it.

Jamie split the rest of the orange with Phoenix making Cam and Travis share a look wondering when the two were just gonna admit their feelings for each other.

The Sequin’s were the ones hosting the annual dallas stars team holiday party this year and Livia had came over earlier to help them finish setting up and then she got ready with Kate.

Kate begged Livia to let her straighten her hair and Livia reluctantly agreed as she usually doesn’t care enough and just lets her hair air dry into her natural waves.

Kate put some black eyeliner on Livia’s water line and it really made Livia’s green eyes pop. Kate had picked out an outfit for Livia who agreed and let Kate buy it for her.

Livia put on the pair of leather pants that were oddly comfortable and a really cozy green sweater that was the same colors as her eyes and a pair of black heeled boots.

Livia walked out of the bathroom and saw Kate fully ready in her red plaid dress, Livia did a little spin as Kate gasped and smiled.

“Liv you look beautiful!” Kate didn’t think Livia could get more beautiful but she definitely wrong.

The girls must of taken a bit because by the time the two walked down the stairs quite a few of the players and some of their families were there already.

Wyatt looked up at the stairs and felt his breath catch, Livia was glowing and her eyes were sparking brightly, Wyatt has always loved anything green on Livia as he always says it’s her color especially with the way it makes not only her eyes pop but her freckles too.

Wyatt didn’t get a chance to talk to Livia as the Finn’s stole her before he could.

Wyatt stayed by Ty’s side but his eyes kept staying on Livia and was completely distracted by her.

“Dude.” Ty gave him a shove making Wyatt snap his attention back to Ty.

“What?” Wyatt asked cluelessly.

“Go to Drysy.” Ty titled his head to Livia, he knew he wouldn’t get an actual conversation with Wyatt when Wyatt is to focused on Livia.

Wyatt just nodded not even arguing and saw Livia walking about from the group and Wyatt watched as she walked by the snack table picking up a cookie before walking down the hallway. Wyatt quickly followed and saw her standing outside on the balcony.

He closes the door behind him and the click made Livia quickly turn around.

“Wy.” Livia breathed out smiling at her best friend and the guy she realized she’s been in love with for years.

“Hi Livvy.” Wyatt’s smiled back and walked over to her, he gently brushed back a strand of hair behind her hair, “Did i tell you look absolutely beautiful tonight.” Wyatt looked at her with a smile.

“Just tonight?” Livia gently teased back and leaned into his hand that was still resting on her cheek.

“No.” Wyatt shook his head, “You look absolutely beautiful always.” Wyatt smiled softly gently caressing her cheek.

Livia looked at him and then blinked rapidly realizing something, “Are you flirting with me?” Livia titled her head curiously.

“I have been for years Livvy, thanks for noticing.” Wyatt gently quipped back with a soft smirk.

“Years?” Livia breathed out her eyes widening realizing all those times people told Wyatt liked her they were right.

“You didn’t know?” Wyatt frowned in confusion having figured Livia knew his feelings for her and was just being polite by not saying anything because she did not feel the same.

“No!” Livia quickly spluttered out, She gently grabbed his other hand, “I did not know Wy.” She reassured him not wanting him to think she knew for years and did not ever say anything.

“Oh.” Wyatt breathed out feeling hopeful once more, “Oh.” Wyatt smiled softly.

“Oh?” Livia repeated back.

“So since you know now that i have had feelings for you for years, what are you thinking?” Wyatt whispered to her as he leaned closer to her.

Livia let out a nervous breath and dryly swallowed, “I’m thinking i would really like to kiss my boyfriend?” Livia nervously whispered back hoping she didn’t mess everything up because she was the bold one for once.

Wyatt let out a relieved breath smiling brightly, “Well your boyfriend would really like to kiss you too.” Wyatt gently whispered leaning closer till their noses gently brushed against together and when he saw her nod he gently pressed his lips finally to hers.

Wyatt practically melted as he finally kissed her and cupped the back of her head pulling her closer to him.

They could feel each other’s wide smiles against each other’s lips as they tried to kiss longer but both pulled away giggling happily.

“You’re my girlfriend.” Wyatt whispered in disbelief and awe that he was finally getting his girl.

Livia giggled nodding and she was smiling so wide her nose was all scrunched and Wyatt couldn’t help but lean back down pressing a long kiss to her lips.

“Oh!” Jake blinked in shock as Jason and him walked onto the balcony and saw the two younger ones kissing each other.

Wyatt and Livia both pulled apart and Livia quickly hid her face in Wyatt’s chest.

“Damn it Roope won the bet.” Jason cursed shaking his head.

“What bet?” Wyatt narrowed his eyes at the two.

“Uhhhh the bet when you two finally get together.” Jake awkwardly told them, getting two dark glares from both of sunshine’s of the team.

The team had made a bet months ago and almost every single player had picked a timeframe when they would get together and of course Roope won.

Wyatt wrapped an arm around her waist and gently guided her off the balcony past the other two as they headed back to the living room seeing everyone was sitting around the couches together.

“Roope won.” Jason groaned dramatically as Jake and him followed Livia and Wyatt back into the living room.

Roope just simply smirked because he had a feeling how long it would take from knowing Livia pretty well but it was glad that Livia and Wyatt finally confessed especially because of the happy smile on her face.

“Johnny boy!” Tyler cheered thinking Wyatt would never make a move, “Well done.” He gave the two a wink.

Jamie and Joe both shared a look glad the kids are finally together.

“Thank god!” Ty let out a groan of relief he could not watch the two pine after each other any longer.

“About time.” Thomas commented.

Livia blushed even brighter and hide her face back in Wyatt’s chest and Wyatt fondly smiled and his arm tightened around her waist.

Wyatt gently led Livia over to the open spot on the couch and plopped down first and Livia quickly sat down next to him resting her head on his shoulder and Wyatt proudly wrapped an arm around her shoulder and pressed a kiss to the top of her head.

Phoenix had turned around and watched across the ice as Jamie fell on his shoulder and his hand quickly grabbed his shoulder and Jamie quickly got up and hurried off the ice and down the tunnel.

Phoenix bit his lip looking worried but knew he couldn’t go see Jamie until after the game was over so he pushed back his worries and focused on the game.

The Flyers lost 6-7 to the Penguins.

Phoenix rushed down the tunnel and quickly took a shower and got dressed and luckily he didn’t have any media to do that night.

He quickly hurried down the halls to the medical rooms and walked in seeing Jamie dressed in comfortable clothes and out of his uniform looking drowsy.

“Hey Jay.” Phoenix greeted him softly, Jamie slowly looked over and smiled brightly at Phoenix.

“Nix!” Jamie beamed happily and started giggling. Phoenix furrowed his brows in confusion and looked towards the doctor.

“He had a high dose of pain medication.” The doctor looked amused as he told Phoenix, Phoenix nodded smiling looking amused.

“How is he?” Phoenix asked the doctor and stayed standing next to Jamie, Jamie who was tracing Phoenix’s tattoos that he could see.

“It’s a lot better than it could be, it’s not a bad as his last injury and he will have a splint on for three or five days then he won’t need it anymore, but what he does need is a good night sleep tonight.” The doctor told one of his many players. Lucky for Jamie his injury could’ve been alot of worst and he shouldn’t miss to much time out for his injury.

“Do you’ve got him?” The doctor doubled checked with Phoenix.

“Of course.” Phoenix nodded quickly and looking down at Jamie and smiling fondly seeing Jamie so enthralled with his tattoos.

“Good, here’s a few more dosages of his pain meds he shouldn’t have any until at least 2:00 am.” The doctor explained and then handed the bottle to Phoenix.

Phoenix nodded and slipped it into his pocket, “Thank you.” The doctor nodded and excused himself out of the room.

“Alright Jay, let’s get you home.” Phoenix gingerly wrapped his arm around Jamie’s waist guiding him to stand as Jamie just let his head flop against Phoenix’s shoulder and close his eyes.

“Alright then.” Phoenix fondly whispered watching as Jamie closed his eyes and seemed to try to sleep on Phoenix.

Phoenix led them through the arena and out the back exit that never has any cameras and luckily Jamie doesn’t have his car here yet so Phoenix drives them around.

Phoenix walked them to his car and unlocked it and opened the passenger door, he gently guided Jamie into the seat and clipped his seatbelt for him.

Phoenix looked up and saw Jamie’s head flopped to the side and little snores leaving his mouth and Phoenix softly smiled.

Phoenix quietly closed the passenger door and walked around the car and hoped into the drivers side.

Phoenix smiled fondly seeing Jamie looking so soft as he is fast asleep.

Phoenix went the long way home not wanting to wake up Jamie until he had too. He may of continued to drive the long way multiple times so Jamie could keep sleeping and Phoenix really did not want to wake up Jamie if he didn’t have to.

Phoenix eventually pulled into the parking garage after a few hours of just driving around letting Jamie sleep in the car. He shut the car and hoped out of the drivers aide and walked around the car and opened the passenger door and he remorsefully had to shake Jamie awake.

“Hey sleepyhead.” Phoenix softly spoke seeing Jamie slowly wake up and stare at him. “Let’s get you home.” Phoenix gently helped a very tired Jamie out of the car. Jamie was just holding on to Phoenix as Phoenix led them to their apartment and holding up on Jamie as he did.

Phoenix opened the door and walked them in and shut the door behind him. He led them down the hallway and opened Jamie’s bedroom and gently helped Jamie lay down on his bed and Phoenix made sure all the pillows were perfect for Jamie to get some sleep.

He looked at Jamie once more and fixed the blanket that is covering Jamie before he turned to leave to let Jamie sleep.

“Wait.” Jamie softly spoke barely opening his eyes. Phoenix quickly turned around, “Could you stay?” Jamie soflty questioned and if he wasn’t so tired and on strong pain medication he would never of had the courage to ask his crush that.

Phoenix blinked in shock but nodded and walked around the bed and sat down on the other side of the bed.

Jamie slowly turned his head to his long time crush not that he would admit that, “Thank you Nix.” Jamie softly spoke his words slurring from him still being half asleep. Jamie has never had anyone take such care of him with so much softness and was jealous that he has never got to have Phoenix take care of him before because he’s perfect and that’s something Jamie is very appreciative of.

“It’s not a problem Jay.” Phoenix softly replied back and did not even realize he was bringing a hand up to gently brush Jamie’s hair away from his forehead and Jamie made a happy sound and pushed more into Phoenix’s hand.

Phoenix blinked in shock but kept his hand there as Jamie seemed to like it and gently began running his fingers through Jamie’s hair.

Phoenix watched as Jamie fell fast asleep and he gently removed his hand from his hair ignoring the pang of disappointment.

Phoenix pulled out his phone to send a quick to text to his baby brother to let him know Jamie is okay because he knows Trevor is definitely freaking out and extremely worried for Jamie.

Phoenix put his phone on the nightstand before resting his head on the pillow and slowly took a deep breath and was filled with the scent of Jamie from the pillow.

Phoenix fell asleep so fast in Jamie’s bed that he didn’t even realize he was still in his suit from the game.

Livia was sitting on the couch with Kate, both sitting in robes and their hair in braids with a hair mask in, with a clay face mask on their faces and Kate was working on Livia’s nails.

Tyler was sitting next to them leaning his head back on the couch and had his cucumbers still on his eyes.

Livia has been adored by the couple since she met them and at least once a month usually a few times a month they always have a spa night and just gossip.

Livia also loves to babysit their three dogs when the two want to go on a date night and the two will always come home and find her fast asleep on the couch with their dogs cuddled around Livia.

“Soooo!” Tylee singsonged as he leaned up and caught the cucumbers that fell off his face and tossed them into his mouth.

Kate and Livia shared an exasperated look but both turned to Tyler.

“When are you going to put poor johnny out of his misery and tell him you’re in love with him.” Tyler looked extremely curious as he blunty asked Livia.

The whole team very quickly picked up on the fact Wyatt is completely in love with Livia, it was extremely easy to realize and he is always following her around like a puppy in love.

But the team could also tell Livia was also just in love with Wyatt, meaning they have seen her speak more words to him in one day than she had said to all of them in her first month in Dallas.

Also how they both of them are always touching each other and Wyatt and Livia are always found cuddling with each other and always both fast asleep.

Livia choked on her own breath and her eyes widening so much they nearly looked like they were going to pop out.

Kate winced in sympathy and gently rubbed Livia’s back as she tried to catch her breath again.

“What! Me and Wy are just friends.” Livia quickly spluttered out still looking completely shocked.

Tyler let out a booming laugh, “You don’t actually think that.” Tyler slowly stopped laughing when he saw Livia’s face, “You don’t actually think that do you?” Tyler looked extremely incredulous.

“We’re just friends.” Livia protested shrugging back.

“She’s joking.” Tyler shook his head in disbelief and then looked at his girlfriend, “She’s joking right?”

“Do you like him?” Kate gently questioned Livia, turning her full attention to the young girl.

“He’s my best friend.” Livia simply answered and avoiding the question.

“That’s not an anwser.” Tyler piped in and Kate shot him a stern look not wanting to overwhelm Livia too much, especially when it’s obvious she’s pretty confused.

“Liv do you like Wyatt?” Kate gently asked once more giving her an encouraging smile.

Livia blanched looking extremely overwhelmed and confused at the same time, “I uh don’t know.” Livia stuttered out truthfully she never let herself think to much about the idea of liking Wyatt never wanting to mess anything up.

“Alright how about this, i’ll ask you some questions and you see if Wyatt does that to you?” Kate softly suggested and Livia nodded in agreement

“Do you get butterflies around him? like your stomach turns into knots and it makes you nervous but the good nervous?” Kate gently grabbed Livia’s hand and gently rubbed her knuckles comforting

Sixteen year old Livia and Wyatt were each other prom dates and Livia had a dark green dress that had long puffy mesh sleeves and Wyatt had an all black suit with a matching tie and pocket square to her dress

Wyatt gently clipped on the botuiner on her dainty wrist, the flowers matched the two perfect.

Wyatt was having the time of his life being able to go to prom with the girl he’s been in love with for years he looked back up and gently brushed back a baby hair off of her forehead and gave her a fond smile.

Livia didn’t understand why at the time her stomach was turning but she felt extremely excited and her cheeks were burning.

“Does he make you feel safe?” Kate added watching Livia closely.

Livia was tense as she stood with the team by the bar, all she wanted was to go home and get some sleep especially with her ribs hurting from the hit she got that night.

Wyatt looked over trying to find her and saw how tense she was and the pinch between her eyebrows that only shows up when she is uncomfortable.

Wyatt quickly pushed through the crowd quickly and made it right to Livia’s side, he wrapped an arm gently around her shoulder and watch as she tensed before realizing it was him and relaxing into him.

“Wanna go back?” Wyatt’s leaned down and whispered against her ear, and Livia quickly nodded wanting to go home.

She let out a sigh as she relaxed completely against him feeling safe as he led them outside.

“And most importantly does he make you smile?” Kate asked once more.

An eighteen year old Wyatt walked in Livia’s room holding a bag and he frowned at the sight of his best friend looking so sick in bed, she was mostly hidden under the blankets but you could see her bright red nose and glossy eyes.

“Oh Livvy.” Wyatt gently cooed walking over and sitting next to her and gently feeling her forehead that was way too warm.

“Wy.” Livia mumbled her eyes looking up at him pitifully.

“I know i know.” Wyatt mumbled soothingly knowing how much Livia hates being sick.

He set the bag onto her bed, “I got your favorite chicken noodle soup.” Wyatt told her watching as she perked up slightly, “And if you eat most of it i got you chocolate chip cookies.” Wyatt shook the bag of cookies knowing they are her absolute favorite.

“Only if you get under the blanket.” Livia mumbled giving him puppy eyes.

“Like you had to even ask.” Wyatt quipped jack and getting up taking his jacket and shoes off and Livia smiled for the first time since she felt sick and it was all because of her best friend.

“Oh.” Livia breathed out as she realized all these years she has been in love with him.

Kate and Tyler shared a relieved look that they managed to make her figure out her feelings.

Phoenix let out a breath as he has been pacing around his room for the last hour trying to figure out how to tell Trevor.

Phoenix flopped back onto this bed letting out a frustrated groan and pulled out his phone and facetimed Trevor.

“Nixie!” Trevor beamed as he anwsered the call, his face shifted into concern seeing Phoenix’s nervous face, “Is everything alright?”

Phoenix pursed his lips and looked at the screen nervously, “I uh may have feelings for someone.” Phoenix trailed off.

“You do! Who?” Trevor gasped and looked shocked he’s never seen his brother have romantic feelings for anyone before and he hopes it’s Jamie.

“Don’t be mad.” Phoenix rushed out, “It’s Jamie.” Phoenix watched as Trevor froze in shock.

“OH MY GOD!” Trevor yelled happily his face in a large smile, “You like Jimmy!” Trevor smiled widely.

“You’re not mad?” Phoenix looked confused at his baby brother’s reaction.

“Of course not! Jimmy and me can become brother in laws.” Trevor smirked having hoped that his brother would like Jamie one day.

“That’s if he even likes me.” Phoenix fondly rolled his eyes at Trevor.

“Well of course he does.” Trevor shrugged, “Jimmy won’t admit but he’s been crushing on you since he met you.” Trevor told Phoenix.

“He has?” Phoenix asked hopefully.

“Oh yeah and he asked for permission to like you alreadly so i know he likes you.” Trevor reassured his brother, he knew Jamie probably didn’t want him to tell Phoenix but Trevor knew that is Phoenix knows Jamie likes him back he will make a move.

“Huh.” Phoenix mumbled slowly nodding thinking of an idea.

“Let me know how it goes?” Trevor cheekily smiled knowing Phoenix will ask out Jamie.

“I will.” Phoenix nodded, “And Trev thank you.” Phoenix appreciated that Trevor was cool with his best friend and brother liking each other and maybe getting together in the future.

“Of course.” Trevor just shrugged it off.

Tom was kneeled down in front of his youngest daughter and just finished tying her skates, Connie has been very interested in the ice lately and is always pointing to the ice so Tom and Melanie thought it would be good idea to see if she wants to actually skate, since she can walk pretty good now and turned one almost two months ago.

“Ready Connie Bear?” Tom asked his daughter, as his wife and Madi were already on the ice.

Connie looked at him and nodded quickly, Tom helped her up and she waddled with her skates towards the ice. Tom stood behind her holding both of her hands as she stepped onto the ice.

Tom was prepared for her to slip when she stepped onto the ice but she just glided forwards as she was giggling.

Connie was trying to tug her hands away from her dad and Tom let go of one of her hands skating to her side and she just skated forward with no hesitation.

Connie’s face was in the brightest smile that Tom or Melanie has ever seen on her face and they shared a look knowing this would not be the last time she went on the ice.

October 10, 2022

Livia had been living with Roope for about a month now and was getting used to be away from her family and not having any of her friends on the team but she’s been getting closer to everyone on the team.

Roope had actually enjoyed having Livia live with him, he’s never offered for a rookie to live with him before always liking his own space but the coach actually suggested that Livia would do good with Roope and when he found out she is pretty quiet he agreed.

Roope had been teaching Livia some Finnish and she has been picking it up quite quickly and she really likes trying all of his home dishes.

Roope noticed that Livia hadn’t put up much in her room besides a few pictures frames on her nightstand and wall and he wanted her to be comfortable.

Roope spilt off from Livia when they got to the Arena for their last practice before the season starts and he headed to the media room. He knocked on the already open door.

Morgan the main media worker and the head of the whole team looked up and smiled teasingly when she noticed it was Roope, “Roope are you willingly in the media room?” Morgan had been working for the Stars for years now and the players are always more willingly to work with her.

“Did you pick the question today?” Roope questioned her. Morgan always has a question for them at the start of the week.

“No, why?” Morgan shook her head looking at him in question.

“I’ve got one.” Roope shrugged and told her the question making her nod and write it down onto the whiteboard, Roope left the media room and headed back to the locker room and got ready for practice.

Livia walked out of the locker room holding her two hockey sticks and saw Morgan holding a sign for the question of the day.

Livia smiled and read the question, “If you could pick one thing to always have in your room, what would it be.”

“Oh!” Livia’s face lite up and she giggled softly, “Plants, i love plants.” Livia gave the camera a shy smile before continuing her walk to the rink.

Roope had waited ahead so he could hear her answer and he nodded to himself having an idea of what to get Livia.

October 13, 2021

Livia walked through the apartment after a long day and waved to Roope as they had ate dinner already and she was gonna FaceTime Wyatt and Luke and go to bed.

She opened her door to her room and gasped slightly and she felt a smile spread across her face as she looked around her room, Covered in so many different plants, multiple on her shelf’s, nightstand, the dresser, her desk, standing plants as well and a few hanging from the ceiling.

“Oh my.” Livia quietly whispered as she gently touched one of the plants.

“I thought it would make it more at home.” Roope told her as he leaned against her doorway and smiled slightly seeing her so happy, he remembered when he left home how homesick he got and how many care packages his mom sent for him, he didn’t want Livia to feel homesick and wanted her to enjoy her rookie year.

Livia brightly smiled and turned around walking over to Roope and softly hugged him, “Thank you.” Livia appreciated how nice Roope has been to her and was grateful to stay with him.

“You are welcome pieni kukka.” Roope smiled softly and hugged her back, He’s been calling her little flower in Finnish since he met her.

“I know we are out of town a lot so i got these.” Roope told her as showed her the boxes that were on her desk, watering system that she can control from her phone so she can take care of her plants on the road.

Livia smiled wider and gently picked one of the boxes up.

Connie Willow Bedard was born July 17, 2005 to Tom and Melanie Bedard, she was the second born and the last kid her parents had. She has an older sister Madi.

Connie has been exceptional on the ice since her dad brought her onto the ice when she was barely one, she was in love with the ice and the feeling of gliding across the ice.

Connie had met her best friend Fraser Minten on one of her first hockey teams when she was really young and they played together until they both got drafted into the WHL and then started playing against each other.

She was the first ever player to get exceptional player status and joined the Western Hockey League a year earlier than everyone else, she joined the Regina Pats in 2020.

In 2022 she met Mason Mctavish when she joined Canada’s World Junior team and they became very close and act like siblings. Mason took her under his wing and became quite protective of his honorary sister.

Connie met Kevin Korchinski in the 2023 World Juniors and they hit it off pretty easily, Connie being more quiet and reserved and Kevin is more a ball of sunshine and very outgoing, they compliment each other well.

Connie was drafted to the Chicago Blackhawks first overall in the 2023 NHL Draft and the first ever Woman to be drafted in the NHL and she went first.

Connie met Alex during the training camp over the summer before her rookie season and they clicked surprisingly well and Alex seemed to have a natural protectiveness over Connie, getting in multiple fights over the season protecting her.

Connie felt like she could finally just be herself with Alex, she didn’t have to be Connie Bedard the Blackhawks first overall pick and the player that was gonna save the team. Alex was teaching her there was more to like them just Hockey.
