''Hey! Don't touch me, I have a girlfriend.'' Jeongguk drunkenly protested, prying the unwanted arms from his body. ''Stop, please!''

''Are you serious right now?''

''Stop! That's not cool, I have a girlfriend!'' He tried moving away from the displeasing touches, the woman in front of him not seeming to get the hint that he wasn't that kind of a guy.

Jeongguk's vision must have experienced some huge errors after those countless refills of his beer, because he had no reason to shy away from the person who found him lying on his couch.

Jieun had made her way to Jeongguk's apartment after spending almost an entire day at the company. The endless recording and practicing had taken almost all the energy from her body, the only small amount that was left was reserved for the man who had been bugging her for the last hours to come back home.

Ever since Jin had been enlisted into the military, her boyfriend hadn't been too keen on really doing anything that consisted of going outside. She was happy that he was resting so well, but the man hadn't seen sunlight for almost a week now. His days were spent watching Netflix, ordering food and taking care of Bam.

So as she walked into his apartment, she expected to find the same image that she had seen all week; Jeongguk eating in front of the tv with Bam. However this day, it was quite a different sight.

Bam greeted her at the door, nothing out of the ordinary. What was out of the ordinary, was the lack of noise from her boyfriend. She could hear something playing on the tv, but nothing from Jeongguk's side.

Upon walking into the living room, she was met with a disoriented man mumbling inaudible things to himself, while he laid face down on the couch. The empty soju bottles and half-full beer glass indicated the singer had had a fun time on his own.

Jieun tried getting him up and into his bed, but that's when the man started opposing and tried pushing her arms away. He didn't recognize her.

She might as well have fun with this.

''A girlfriend, huh? Tell me about her.''

Jeongguk let out an unexpected snort. ''Why do you want to know about her?'' Before Jieun could even reply, he continued. ''She's- she's so fine.'' He smirked to himself.

''I don't know how to begin, she's just- ugh, so perfect. She has everything you could want in a person, you know? When I first saw her, we were like 18, I was like damn,'' that last thing made both of them laugh, a sudden American accent coming out, ''she smiled at me, well at us, my hyungs were there too. I don't know what she thought of me, to be honest. I thought she was beautiful, she was hot- she was so hot. She- she had this leather jacket on, her hair was down and she still had to get her make-up done. I watched her while she sat in the stylist's chair, I thought she looked like the most beautiful thing in the world.''

''I love her so much, I should tell her more that I do. That's why you can't touch me or kiss me, you know? I'm not a cheater, I don't do that. It would hurt her a lot and I don't want to do that. I would never do anything to hurt her, that- that would kill me.''

''Don't tell her I said this, but- I, uh, I think I'm gonna marry her someday. Well, I don't think, I know I'm gonna marry her. I would be an idiot not to.''

Jieun watched him in awe, speechless at the confession he just gave. She knew that Jeongguk loved her, that was an obvious given. However, she didn't know how much he actually loved her and how he wanted to spend the rest of his life with her.

His declaration of love must have sobered him up as he finally noticed her return. ''Ji- Jieunie? You're back, oh, I missed you so much.'' His arms quickly found their way around her and he left kisses all over her face.

''Yeah, you look like you had fun over here.'' She dramatically glanced at all the empty bottles on their coffee table.

He followed her eyes, grinning shamelessly. ''We did, didn't we Bam?'' The boy joined them on the couch upon hearing his name, safely putting himself in-between Jeongguk and Jieun.

''I'm gonna get you some water and aspirin, and afterwards you can clean all your mess up.'' She wanted to get up and head to the kitchen, but her boyfriend stopped her. ''No~,'' he whined, ''don't go, you just got here.''

Jieun got up anyway, pressing a short and sweet kiss against his lips. ''You know, the first time I ever saw you, I thought you looked really good in those jeans you were wearing.''

''Hell yeah, I did.''

At the Idol Athletics Sports Competition, Maya and Jungkook were on the same team. Maya was in the semifinals for the wrestling competition against Apink's Hayoung.

When she beat her fellow female idol, Jungkook couldn't have acted any happier. He was seated on the ground next to his BTS member Jin and the moment she won, he jumped up and had a huge smile on his face. However, he was quickly embarrassed as the only other people to stand up for Maya were her Twice member and a few other teammates of theirs. Jungkook almost immediately sat back down again, much to the amusement of his members who watched his reaction.

During the Melon Music Awards in 2018, a commercial starring Maya was shown on the screen. Despite the Twice members not being present, the crowd went crazy as Maya appeared on the big screen.

The moment that went viral is when the commercial was done and the camera immediately cut to Jungkook gaping at the screen, seemingly admiring her. As soon as he saw his own face, he quickly looked down at his feet and a blush appeared on his face.

The reaction of the people around him also didn't help his shyness about the situation. His members immediately turned to him and started laughing at their youngest. The cameraman who was filming Jungkook was seen smirking, proud of himself for capturing the moment. The Blackpink members were also seen smiling as Jungkook's smitten face appeared on the screen before them.

The pair were guest MC's in a special episode of the music show, Music Core. Throughout the episode Maya wasn't shy of making eye contact with the male idol, meanwhile Jungkook felt a blush on his face each time their eyes met and he would quickly look away.

The most popular moment of the episode is when Jungkook named her his ideal type, even though it was scripted.

At the 2020 Golden Disc Awards, Maya was seen walking back to her seating space where her members were already sitting as she had gone to the bathroom. As she walked by the BTS members, she almost tripped over a wire that was loosely laying on the floor. Jungkook didn't hesitate and reached down to help with the wire, while Maya did the same thing.

Their faces were very close to each other and they made eye-contact with each other, resulting in both of them getting up straightaway, realising the position they were in. Maya was seen bowing to him and muttering a formal 'thank you', while Jungkook made his way back to his members.

BTS fans noticed that after his interaction with the Twice member, his smile didn't disappear from his face and that his members gave him teasing grins.

''Jungkook, don't call her.'' Namjoon protested as the youngest pulled out his phone from his pocket to call up his girlfriend. ''Yeah, she probably has better things to do.'' Yoongi added, although he was amused by the entire debate. 

Jungkook shook his head as he pulled up her contact and dialled her number. ''No, I'm gonna call her and you're going to see that I'm right.'' To say he was a stubborn man, might be an understatement. 

''Hello?'' 

His agitated voice immediately replaced with a soft one as Jieun picked up. ''Yeobo, have you heard about the perilla leaf debate?'' He asked her, looking confidently at his members. 

''Yeah, Chaengie said something about it, I think. Isn't it whether it's okay for your partner to help your friend peel off their perilla leaf?'' Chaeyoung had mentioned this thing once to her during practice. 

Upon her answer, Jungkook put her on speaker phone so his members could listen to the conversation. ''Yes, that's it! What do you think about it? Do you think it's okay for your partner to help or not?'' He looked at his members with full self-assurance, he was confident Jieun would agree with him that it was not okay for your partner to help. 

''I don't care to be honest, it's a stupid leaf.'' 

The confident grin on Jungkook's face was wiped off within seconds of hearing her words. Meanwhile, the rest of the Bangtan group were laughing their asses off, except Taehyung because he shared the same opinion as Jungkook. ''Yeobo!'' 

''Jungkook, did you put me on speaker?'' She could barely hear her boyfriend as the laughter that was happening around him was getting too loud. 

He nodded, but realised he couldn't see her. ''Yes! Are you actually serious? So if I helped your friend with separating the leaves, you would just be fine with it?'' Jungkook couldn't believe what he was hearing. 

''Yes, why would that be such a big deal? It's a nice gesture.'' Jieun didn't see the fuss about the whole debate, she wouldn't mind Jungkook helping one of her friends out. 

''Why is that such a big deal? Come on! That's a marriage waiting to happen!'' His frustrations were of huge amusement to the men around him, Hobi laying on the floor holding his stomach. 

Jieun rolled her eyes when he mentioned the marriage. ''So what you're saying is that when we're out with one of your friends, Taehyung-oppa for example, I wouldn't be allowed to help him because you think that is cheating?'' She hoped her words would make him realise how truly stupid he sounded in her mind right now. 

''Is this your way of telling me you want to marry Tae?'' Jungkook was flabbergasted and his members had enough. Jin pulled the phone from Jungkook's hands. ''Jieun-ah, please don't listen to him, he's being a child again.'' 

''We're sorry for bothering you.'' Namjoon told her, knowing how the Twice girls always have packed schedules. ''It's alright, I was just waiting to record some songs.'' She was relieved no one was around in the waiting room, because her confused face must have looked ridiculous to the outside world. 

''I'm gonna hang up now, we have to continue filming.'' Jungkook's voice was heard again through the phone. ''Okay, I'll talk to you later, Guk.'' She sighed, she already knew he wasn't going to let this go for a long time. 

Seeing his defeated expression, Jimin decided to add some fuel to the fire. ''Bye Jieunie, if you ever want to go and eat perilla leaves with someone, I'm always availab-'' She didn't hear the rest of Jimin's sentence as the line was cut off, by who she assumed was Jungkook. 

''Hyung, don't talk to my girlfriend like that.'' Jungkook told Jimin, putting his phone away and walking back to his seat. ''I was just teasing, Jungkookie, your face was priceless.'' Jimin couldn't help but keep laughing at the entire situation. 

''Guys, let's continue filming, we're holding the staff up.'' Namjoon said, although he had a hard time to not start laughing at Jungkook's behaviour. Taehyung couldn't help but throw one last little dig. 

''Jungkook, what kind of ring do you think Jieun likes?'' 

''JUNGKOOK PUT THAT DOWN!''

here you go, lovely! this idea came to me in the middle of the night and I just had to write it. I’m excited about this one, because it’s the first time in a long time that I was able to write something longer and I didn’t have to force myself to do so! Feedback, thoughts or opinions are always welcome💗

Jungkook was offended by the question. Yes, it was morning but that didn't mean he looked that terrible. He gave Namjoon and Hobi a sarcastic smile. "Good morning to you too, hyung."

The two rappers were confused as to why they were still standing outside of the youngest's apartment, normally he let them in right away. "Is everything okay?" The leader asked Jungkook, finding his behaviour a bit weird.

"Why would there be something?" Jungkook nervously laughed, still standing in the doorway. "I'm totally fine." He tried assuring them.

Joon and Hobi shared a look with each other. "Alright then, can we come in now?" The main dancer was getting suspicious of their maknae.

"Well… ehm… you see.. you- you can't." Jungkook rambled, stumbling over his words and his lisp being audible.

Joon narrowed his eyes. "And why can't we come in?"

As Jungkook tried to come up with a plausible excuse, Hobi took a sneaky look into his apartment and saw a pair of heels laying there. His eyes widened in realisation. "Oh my god, you have someone over?"

Jungkook was like a deer caught in headlights, following Hobi's eyes to where the heels were laying on the floor. "Ehm…"

"Jeon Jeongguk!" Namjoon exclaimed, somewhere in his voice a hint of pride. "There's a woman in there right now?" He couldn't believe it, he didn't remember Jungkook talking about going on a date with anyone.

"Be quiet, hyung!" The maknae scolded him, not wanting any of his neighbours to accidentally hear.

Joon immediately quieted down, realising he might have been a bit too excited. "Who is it?" The two older men were curious as to who was spending their time with their younger brother.

A soft smile appeared on Jungkook's face, which didn't go unnoticed by the two people in front of him. "Look at that grin! Do we know her?" Hobi asked

Jungkook looked back into his apartment before giving a small nod, his smile growing bigger by the second.

"Eyy, come on now! Tell us." Hobi urged him, not having any patience left and his curiosity getting the better of him.

Jungkook shot another look into the apartment to see if his guest was up already, seeing that she wasn't, he turned back to his hyungs. "Jieun." He whispered.

Hobi looked at him in confusion. "Who's Jie-"

"Wait," Joon interrupted him, holding his hand up, "you mean Jieun as in Kim Jieun as in Twice's Jieun?" His furrowed eyebrows showed his disbelief.

Jungkook shyly nodded at the pair in front of him, his indoor slippers becoming more of interest all of a sudden. "You're not serious."

The main vocalist looked up at Hobi's words. "What do you mean I'm not serious?" Were they seriously not believing him?

"You're telling me Maya of Twice is in there?" In Hobi's head this was some weird joke that Jungkook was pulling. Jungkook adamantly nodded, quite offended that he wouldn't believe him.

Joon sighed. "Jungkook just tell us who's really in there." In the leader's opinion it was way too early to be pulling pranks like this.

"I just told you, why is that so hard to believe?"

The two rappers shared another look with one another, one that said "is this guy serious?"

"Don't get me wrong, Guk, but we're talking about Kim Maya… she's… you know-" Joon had started, but was quickly interrupted by Hobi. "She's way out of your league." He said matter-of-factly.

Jungkook was about to protest, but his members just shook their heads at him, telling him to not even respond to that.

"This isn't a fucking joke, alright?" Jungkook was getting impatient, he wanted to spend some more time with her before she had to return to her dorm.

Joon and Hobi almost felt bad for him. "Maybe it's someone who just looks like her? We know you've liked her for a long time an-"

"Jeongguk?"

The sudden sound of a female voice coming from the apartment grabbed everyone's attention. Jungkook motioned for his members to stay outside and he slightly closed the door so they wouldn't be able to fully see his space.

He walked into his living room and saw a freshed up Jieun collecting all her stuff. "Are there people standing outside?" She asked him, concern evident in her voice.

"It's just Namjoonie-hyung and Hobi-hyung, don't worry." He eased her nerves, handing her the heels that she had left by the front door. "You have to go?" He asked her, audibly disappointed.

Jieun gave him a sad smile. "Yeah, my manager is picking me up in half an hour at the dorm and Nayeon-unnie is waiting for me outside." She explained to him.

"Ah, you can't leave the older ones waiting." He laughed, trying to hide the sadness that she was leaving already.

Jungkook's response made her chuckle. "Isn't that exactly what you're doing right now?" She told him, pointing at his front door.

He awkwardly laughed, looking at the door. "Well… they don't mind waiting." He said to her, his hand going through his hair.

"I really enjoyed last night, I had a lot of fun." Jieun took a step closer to him, grabbing his hand.

Blood rushed into his cheeks. "Me too, would you ehm… maybe… like to do it again sometime?" Jungkook's eyes barely met hers, afraid of rejection.

"I would love to," she smiled, "I have to go now though, so just ask Yugyeom for my number, alright?" While talking to the BTS member, she had already put on her heels and she grabbed her purse from his couch. Jieun turned back to him and planted a kiss on his cheek, short and sweet. "See you later, handsome." She left him standing frozen in his own living room.

Jieun made her way to the front door and opened it, making the two men flinch and take a couple steps back. She slightly bowed her head at them out of respect and approached the elevators. "It's nice to see you." She greeted them, pressing the elevator button.

Joon and Hobi quickly gathered their thoughts, in shock that Jungkook was actually speaking the truth. "Likewise." "Nice to see you too." The last they saw of her was a little wave and she disappeared into the elevator.

Their youngest member appeared before them again, a giant smirk present on his face. His hyungs pushed him back into his apartment."The studio can wait, tell us everything now."

“I’m not doing that, Yugyeom.”

Out of all the ideas she had heard from Yugyeom throughout the years, this was the most ridiculous one so far.

The Got7 member sighed. ''It's just one blind date!'' He was adamant on getting her to agree to this blind date that he had set up for her.

''Did you think about the fact that I'm an idol and that I'll receive a massive amount of hate and death threats for even just being caught on a date?'' Her own members had been caught up in a dating scandal and although the response wasn't too bad, there were many other examples of idols who got literally vilified for simply being in a relationship.

''You dated Seungyoun-hyung and no one found out!'' Yugyeom pointed out, taking another swig from his beer. Maya rolled her eyes at him. ''Oh, yeah! That's just the perfect reason to go, cause that relationship worked out perfectly, didn't it?'' She told him, sarcastically.

The start of her previous relationship went exactly like this. A friend talking her into going on a blind date with someone and Jieun wasn't having it.

''I think you should give it a chance! It's a really nice guy and I think you'll get along great.'' The truth was that Yugyeom had seen how her breakup with Seungyoun had affected her and he thought it was finally the right time for her to start dating again.

Jieun contemplated. ''Tell me something about this guy.'' She asked him, it had been a while since she hung out with someone other than her members or close friends.

''Ji, I don't know if you have ever heard of a blind date, but that's not really how it works.'' His sarcastic comment earned him a slap on the arm. ''You're not expecting me to actually meet up with a total stranger?''

Yugyeom tilted his head. ''Uh, I am, that's the purpose of a blind date.'' He put an emphasis on the 'blind'.

''Oh, come on! If you tell me one thing, I'll actually consider going.'' He shook his head. ''I'll say one thing about him if you promise you'll go.'' Yugyeom raised his eyebrow, awaiting her answer.

Maybe the whole blind date idea wasn't such a bad idea. Yugyeom seemed very sure that this dude was good for her and as much as Yugyeom liked to annoy her, he would never do something if it wasn't in her good interest.

''Alright, I'll go.''

Yugyeom clapped his hands and a big smile appeared on his face. ''Ha! Yes! I'll text him right now!'' He pulled out his phone and typed away, letting this mystery man know that she had agreed to go.

''Oh, so one thing about him…'' Yugyeom thought about something, ''he's the same age as us.'' He figured he had to make this man as vague as possible, not wanting her to know beforehand.

Maya was not impressed. ''That's it? No, I want something useful.''

''That is useful, now you know it's not some old man that you're meeting.''

''You're sure he's not some serial killer, right?'' Maya still had her doubts as she and Yugyeom went up in the elevator, on their way to her blind date's apartment.

Yugyeom chuckled. ''I promise you, he's a good guy.''

''Does he know he's meeting me?'' The closer she got to this mystery man, the more curious she got about his identity. ''He does, he has uh, liked you for a long time.'' The grin on his face didn't escape her.

''Dude, it's not some creepy guy, right? I'm not planning on giving my autograph or anything.'' She truly hoped whoever this person is, doesn't end up being some obsessive fan who would try something she wasn't comfortable with.

Her worries only seemed to amuse her friend. ''Trust me, Ji,'' they arrived at the right floor and stepped out of the elevator, ''he's not gonna ask your autograph.''

They stopped in front of a door and Yugyeom turned to her. ''You ready?'' He asked her, unsubtly trying to hide his smirk.

''I guess.'' Jieun didn't sound too sure, but Yugyeom knocked on the door anyway, immediately walking away. ''Have fun, Ji!''

Before she could say anything back, the door in front of her opened. As soon as she locked eyes with the man in front of her, her mind tells her she should have known it would be him.

''Hi..'' Jeongguk seemed very nervous, his eyes not meeting hers. She smiled at him, finding it quite endearing. ''Hi, I'm Jieun.''

He opened the door a bit wider, inviting her in. ''I kno- uh, I mean- I'm.. I'm Jeongguk.'' He stumbled over his words introducing himself, even though he didn't need to.

''I know.'' She copied his answer, wanting to ease his nerves.

It seemed to work as he finally cracked a soft smile and the tension in his shoulders visibly left. ''You want some slippers or something for your feet?'' Jieun had taken off her heels and was left bare feet.

She looked down at them and gave him a sheepish smile. Jeongguk pulled out a pair of home slippers and put them down in front of her. ''They're my mom's, so they should fit.'' He told her.

''Thank you.'' Jieun took off her heels and put her feet into the slippers, fitting perfectly.

''Uh, thank you for coming, I, uh, really appreciate it.'' Jeongguk thanked her, avoiding eye-contact with her.

Jieun gave him a smile, brushing it off. ''Oh, you don't need to thank me. You should thank Yugyeom, he really talked you up.'' She chuckled, reminding herself she needed to send the guy some flowers later for setting her up on this date.

''What did he tell you?'' Jeongguk motioned for her to follow him through the hallway into his beautiful living room that had an overview of the city.

She answered him as she inspected his home. ''He told me you were the same age as us, you have liked me for a long time and that you definitely wouldn't ask for my autograph.''

At the mention of him having liked her for a long time, Jeongguk's cheeks and ears heated up. He desperately looked around, seemingly trying to find something to which he could change the subject to. ''Oh, well, that's- that's very nice of him.''

''Oh my- let me take your coat.'' It's like he had a list of things to do in his head and he had accidentally skipped that step. Jeongguk moved behind her while she unbuttoned the long coat, he removed it from her and it revealed her black silk dress that she was wearing.

''Wow…''

Jieun turned around upon his words. ''Pardon?''

His mouth fell open a little, having become speechless as he stared into her eyes for the first time that evening. ''You, uh, you look, uh,'' Jeongguk stuttered, ''you look really pretty.'' He managed to get the words out.

''Thank you,'' she glanced down at her dress, ''you don't look too bad yourself.'' Jieun looked him up and down, totally aware he could see her checking him out. Jeongguk was wearing a grey turtleneck that accentuated his broad shoulders and biceps, paired with a simple pair of black trousers.

The blush reappeared on his cheeks and he looked down at his own clothes, remembering Yugyeom begging him to wear something ''that doesn't look like he only wears oversized shit''.

''Uhm, please follow me to the dining room.'' Jieun couldn't help but chuckle as he completely ignored her compliment and moved to the next room.

Jieun was pleasantly stunned when being met by Jeongguk's dining room. He had lit the place up with candles and a fresh bouquet of flowers stood in the centre of the table. ''This is really nice, Jeongguk. Do you always have dinner like this?'' She remarked, making the man laugh and shake his head.

His hand moved to her lower back, guiding her to her seat. Jeongguk pulled out her chair and helped her sit down properly, after which he took the seat across from her. ''Would you like a glass of red wine?''

She nodded at his offer. ''Yes, please.'' At her words, he opened the wine bottle that he had placed on the table before her arrival and opened it, pouring some in her glass and afterwards in his glass.

Jieun raised her glass. ''Cheers.'' Jeongguk seemed surprised, but quickly picked up his glass and they clinked their glasses together. ''Yes, cheers.''

''So…''

''Yeah, so…''

''You've liked me for 5 years?''

Jeongguk choked on his wine as the question left her mouth, causing Jieun to chuckle at his reaction. ''Uhm, well,'' his nervous behaviour returned and he couldn't look her in the eye anymore, ''has it been 5 years already?''

''I must have made a very great first impression on you, I mean that's quite a long time.'' Jieun continued, liking how flustered she was making him.

The flustered man in question looked down at his feet, a shy smile gracing his face. ''I, uh, I guess you did.''

''Were you too scared to ask me out or something?'' She couldn't help but ask him the question, confused as to why it took them this long to go on a date.

A faint blush appeared on his cheeks and ears, her straightforwardness catching him off guard each time. ''Scared might not be the right word, but… you're just very- you know, uh, I guess I was just afraid you would reject me, maybe.'' He admitted, looking away from her again.

''Who says I would have rejected you?''

''Literally everyone I asked for advice told me you would reject me.'' He laughed, taking a sip from his wine. ''I wanted to ask you out last year when our promotions overlapped, but BamBam told me to not even try.'' He confessed, slowly glancing at her reaction.

''Well, most of the time he doesn't know what he's talking about. You're a charming guy.'' Jeongguk sat up straight hearing her words. ''So, if I had asked you out then, you wouldn't have declined to go on a date with me?''

''No, I wouldn't have said yes.'' She told him, shaking her head.

The man in front of her furrowed his eyebrows. ''But- but you just said-''

''I had a boyfriend back then, Jeongguk. I would have rejected anyone.'' Jieun confessed, stifling her laughter at his clueless expression.

He defeatedly put his arm down, accepting her words. ''I guess that's fair.'' Jeongguk interchanged from looking at the table to her. ''I didn't know you were dating someone at the time.''

''Yeah, that's kinda the point of a secret relationship.'' She laughed, playing with the rim of her glass.

''Were you two together for a long time?'' Jeongguk hesitantly asked, not knowing if he was overstepping any boundaries by asking about her past relationship.

Jieun sighed before answering. ''For about a year,'' she thought of something, ''you know, the way he and I met is actually quite similar to this.'' She gestured between her and Jeongguk with her finger.

''Yeah? How so?''

''It was also a blind date set up by a mutual friend, and it was also with a guy who apparently had liked me for a long time. Oh, and just like in this case, I didn't know who I was meeting but they did know they were meeting me.'' The similarities between her blind date with Seungyoun and Jeongguk were hard to ignore.

The only reason why she was so adamant on not going on the date was because of how things ended between her and her former boyfriend. She never doubted his love for her once, yet he still decided to break up with her. Yes, it was because of his mental health at the time, but that didn't make it hurt any less.

''Was it also Yugyeom who introduced you?'' Jeongguk asked, becoming quite curious.

Jieun shook her head. ''No, it was someone else, but Yugyeom is also friend with him, so I guess that counts as well.'' She chuckled.

''Are you hungry? I can get the food if you're ready.'' Jeongguk suggested, already getting out of his chair. ''Yes, that would be nice.''

He send her one bright smile before disappearing into his kitchen. Jieun grabbed her phone from her bag, deciding to send Yugyueom a quick text.

Kim JiJi: you're a genius, Kim Yugyeom

KYUM: you never say that about me

KYUM: you must be enjoying yourself then 😏

Kim JiJi: I am, actually

KYUM: good

KYUM: you should kiss him

KYUM: wait no

KYUM: don't kiss him

KYUM: i think he'll pass out if you do that

Kim JiJi: okay loser

A loud sound of glass breaking made Jieun flinch and she almost dropped her phone in the process. ''Everything okay?'' She yelled out to him, hoping he hadn't hurt himself. ''I'm okay, I just dropped a plate, don't worry!'' Jeongguk yelled back, assuring her that everything was fine. She chuckled to herself, and put her phone away.

''Apparently you really like samgyeopsal.'' Her date walked back in the dining room holding two trays with pork and several different side dishes. He put them down on the table and spread them out, so she could easily reach for all of them with her chopsticks. The grill had already been placed in-between them and Jeongguk turned it on, placing several pieces of the pork belly on it.

She was impressed as Jeongguk sat down again, flattered by the fact that he had most likely asked Yugyeom what she liked to eat. ''This looks great, thank you so much.'' Jieun picked up her chopsticks and put several side dishes on her plate.

''My pleasure.''

As they started eating, Jieun quickly realised Jeongguk and Jihyo had a similar reaction to good food, the angry look on his face after taking a bite from the grilled pork belly bringing her much joy. After many glasses of wine later and finishing their food, the pair had moved to the living room, where Jeongguk had put on a movie that was quickly discarded as their focus was on each other.

''No way! Boa trained you?'' Jeongguk exclaimed, looking at her wide-eyed.

Jieun shook her head. ''No, she didn't train me. Lee Sooman just got her to teach me a few classes and she gave me some feedback, that's all.'' She clarified for him.

''No wonder you're so good.'' The last few hours, Jieun had gotten to meet the real Jeongguk. He had dropped the nerves and actually started flirting back with her. It was probably because of all the wine they had, but still, it was nice.

''I just love performing, you know? Looking into a crowd, seeing people happy and jumping up and down… it's amazing.'' She told him, a smile creeping on her face while talking about her passion.

Jeongguk unconsciously mirrors her smile. ''I feel the same way. I don't care how sick I am or whatever it may be, standing on the stage is a feeling like nothing else.''

''I miss it so much… fucking covid.'' Jieun mumbled, picking up her glass of wine. He chuckled, not used to hearing her curse. ''I know, this was supposed to be a good year.''

''So much has changed… and not just this year.'' Jeongguk said as he finished his wine and poured some more in his glass.

Jieun gave him a confused expression. ''What do you mean?''

''You know, you have all these new and younger groups now- and I just feel like everything has become so toxic and competitive. I know it has been like that for years now, but people can't look each other in the eye now or people make it a problem, making up rumours and all.''

She could tell by the way he was speaking that it had been bothering him for a while and she agreed with him. The amount of rumours that were created, because of meaningless interactions are ridiculous.

''I agree, like me and Baekhyun- you know Baekhyun?'' She quickly asked him and proceeded when he nodded, ''We accidentally touched hands at a music show and SM actually had to make a statement because of all the articles claiming we were dating.''

Jeongguk sighed. ''That's what I mean, it's becoming unbearable. You can't even say something to your friends anymore.'' He was sick of the toxicity of the industry that was created by fans who liked to make up stuff to fit their agenda of hate.

''Exactly!'' Jieun exclaimed, ''I think 2 years ago, Jennie-unnie won on a music show and our promotions overlapped so we were on the stage as well, and I went up to her and gave her a hug, and somehow people were critical of that? No matter what you do, people will make it a problem.'' She rolled her eyes, thinking back about all the times her and Jennie received hate as a result of their friendship.

''It's crazy, isn't it? It's the same for me and my friends, like Yugyeom and Mingyu.'' Jeongguk could relate to her about the distaste that critics expressed over their friendships.

A silence fell upon them, the both of them taking a few seconds to calm themselves down after talking about all that.

Jieun was the first one to start speaking again. ''I'm happy I get to talk to you about this.'' She spoke with such genuineness that had him almost speechless.

Jeongguk moved himself closer to her, to the point where there was no more space left between them. ''Me too, I'm happy I just get to talk to you.''

''What a charmer you.'' She laughed, putting her hand on his thigh. Her move must have sobered him up straight away as he made a weird sound.

Jeongguk scratched his voice before talking. ''Hey, I have a question.''

''Shoot''

''Before Yugyeom ratted me out, did you know that I've had a crush on you?''

Jieun lets the question sink in, her mind going back in the past. She thought about all the times the guy unsubtly stared at her from across the room or how he would look at the ground when greeting her and her members.

She patted his thigh a few times. ''You know, honey, you've never been a very subtle man,'' she started off, seeing him get shy again when the term of endearment left her lips, ''I wouldn't say that I knew you had a crush on me, I just thought you got easily flustered around women and that you just didn't really knew how to talk to us.''

''But I should've known when Jin kept talking about how talented and great you were, when he and I hosted that year-end show together.'' Jieun finished off, suddenly remembering how the oldest BTS member would butter the youngest one up to her.

Jeongguk covered his face with both of his hands, completely embarrassed. ''Oh, no.'' He dramatically exclaimed, making Jieun burst out laughing in return.

''I swear I didn't ask him to do that!'' He defended himself, putting his hands up.

''Yeah, sure, I believe you.'' Jieun did not believe him.

A comfortable silence fell upon them. Jeongguk stared at Jieun's hand that rested on his thigh, while her eyes were focused on him.

''Do you remember the first time we met?'' She hadn't fully heard the question, Jeongguk's face being quite the distraction.

Jieun snapped out of her trance. ''Sorry, what did you say?''

He smiled at her daydreaming. ''The first time we met- do you remember it?''

''I do remember it,'' she nodded, ''how can I forget the blushing guy who could barely get a word out?'' Jieun replied, an amused grin making its way on her face.

He pushed his shoulder against hers, hoping that distracted her from his red face. ''Come on, now.''

''I was- I was just very struck by you, and I didn't want to embarrass myself, but I guess I did that anyway,'' Jeongguk chuckled, ''and you were very sweet to us, and treated us with respect which not a lot of people did at the time, and I just wanted to thank you.''

Jieun was speechless by his words, not expecting him to say something like that. ''I mean, it's the bare minimum really, treating people with respect.''

''Yet, I haven't forgotten it after 5 years.''

She must have been staring at him for not even 10 seconds, but it felt like an eternity had passed before Jieun broke the silence.

''Can I kiss you?''

It was Jeongguk's turn to be speechless, his mouth slightly agape. ''You, uh, what? What?'' He blurted out, not believing his ears.

Her hand that was laid on his thigh moved to his chin, bringing his face closer to hers while she moved forward. ''I asked if I could kiss you.'' Jieun repeated herself, taking notice of him shivering as her breath fanned his face.

Jeongguk timidly nodded his head, not trusting his mouth to convey the right words. With his consent, she closed the distance between them and softly pressed her lips against his.

As he slowly started kissing her back, something clicked inside of him. It was as if he was an unfinished puzzle and she was the last piece that he had been looking for all this time. Kissing her felt like something that he was meant to be doing, it felt self-evident and he didn't want it to stop.

Meanwhile, Jieun wanted to hit herself in the head for not noticing his crush on her way sooner. She could have been enjoying this for years, but no she just thought that he reacted to everyone like that.

Jeongguk didn't know where it came from, but a sudden wave of confidence flew over him. He took a grip of her waist and sat her down on his thighs, so she was straddling him. Despite the desperation he put into the kiss, his hold on her waist was caring and tender.

They both pulled away, coming up for air. Jieun opened her eyes and was met with Jeongguk's eyes that were filled with adoration, she could almost feel it.

''Jieun…'' He choked out, completely out of breath. ''Do you, uh, do you want to stay over? It's quite late and it can be dangerous, you know.''

She cupped his cheeks with both her hands, a soft smile gracing her face. ''Well, if it's too dangerous outside, I'll better stay here then.''

''You know I don't like surprises, Guk.'' Jieun's whiny voice echoed through the private garage of Jungkook's apartment complex.

Her boyfriend giggled, guiding her to the right place as his hands covered her eyes. ''I know, but it's amusing seeing you like this.''

Jieun had been patiently waiting in Jungkook's apartment for him to come back home from schedules. Once he arrived, she wanted to give him a hug and a kiss, but he immediately covered her eyes and told her he had a surprise for her downstairs.

''Alright, here we are! Are you ready, babe?'' Jungkook asked her, his voice a bit higher due to the excitement of the surprise.

''No.''

''Love your enthusiasm!''

His hands disappeared before her eyes and she was me with a Harley Davidson parked next to her car. Jieun frowned her eyebrows, confused as to what it was doing there. ''A motorcycle?''

''It's mine!'' He exclaimed, swinging an arm around her, bringing her closer to the motorcycle. ''It's big, isn't it?'' Jungkook admired the machine.

Jieun's eyes slowly moved from the Harley to her boyfriend, still confused as to how this was a surprise for her. ''So you bought a motorcycle for yourself and somehow this is a surprise for me?''

''Remember we were watching that movie about two weeks ago and the lead guy was riding a motorcycle and Nayeon-noona said he looked cool, and you agreed with her?'' He explained to her, reminding her of their hangout at Jieun's dorm with Nayeon and Momo.

She nodded. ''Yes, I do.''

''Well, the next day, I did some research and I found that you need a certain licence to drive one of these,'' he pointed at the machine, ''so, I went to a nearby driving academy, and I took this 3-day training program and I had to do this test at the end of it, and I got a perfect score.'' He rambled on, seemingly not taking one breath.

To say she was speechless, was truly an understatement.

''So what you're saying is that you spent 3 days studying and training to get your motorcycle licence, because I agreed with someone that it looked cool in a movie?'' Jieun summarised, wanting to make sure she heard everything right.

Jungkook nodded, not seeing what the big deal was. ''Yeah, why?''

Jieun moved Jungkook's arm, so he wasn't holding her anymore. She moved both her hands around his waist, pulling him closer to her. Her touch gave him goosebumps as they itched closer to one another.

Her left hand moved from his waist to his neck, bringing his head slightly down to hers. ''You're fucking unbelievable.'' She murmured, before putting her lips against his.

She could feel Jungkook smiling into the kiss, happy that she liked the surprise. He momentarily broke the soft kiss, whispering a gentle ''Don't you think it's kinda hot?'' He smirked, raising one eyebrow.

Jieun mirrored his smirk, cupping his face. ''Yeah, it's gonna be really hot when I get a call that you're laying in the hospital because of that thing.''

''Ji, I'm really good, you know? My instructor said it doesn't happen a lot that his students get a perfect score,'' Jungkook told her, proudly padding his own chest, ''and you know, if it's late at night-''

''I'm not getting on that thing with you.'' Jieun concluded, already knowing where he was going with that sentence.

Jungkook groaned. ''Please, just one time! I really want to experience it.'' He complained, a pout forming on his face.

''Oh, honey,'' Jieun caressed his cheek, ''then maybe ask your other girlfriend, I'm sure she would love it.'' He chuckled at her words. ''I already asked her, but she's very busy these days.''

''How about once you're completely comfortable with the Harley, we take a little ride around the city?'' She suggested with a soft smile on her face and a slight tilt of the head. Jungkook planted a kiss on her forehead. ''Alright, I can't wait.''

''Let's go back upstairs again, eh?'' Jieun told him, grabbing his hand.

''Oh babe, you don't have to worry about people seeing us in here, it's a closed space.'' Jungkook assured her, wrapping his arms around her.

''Oh no, it's just that I had put some snacks on the low coffee table and Bam is alone in the apartment right now.''

''Hey, I'm back home, so if you want to talk- I'll be waiting for you.'' Jeongguk's gentle voice sounded over the phone, a big contrast to a few days before.

Jieun looked around before answering, the busy practice room filled with staff and her members. ''Yeah, I would really like that,'' she smiled, matching his voice, ''I'm still in practice now, but I'll meet you in an hour, okay?''

''Great, I'll see you then.''

''Okay,'' she didn't want to hang up, she wanted to talk everything out right then and there, but she knew it would be better to do that in the comfort of his home, ''bye, honey.''

''Bye, love.''

It was going to be alright, they both thought to themselves. This was just something they had to get through together, this was going to make them stronger. They both knew they weren't going to break up over this, it was a hurdle to get over together.

Nayeon noticed Jieun was done with her phone call and approached her. ''Was that him?'' She asked.

''Yes,'' Jieun nodded, ''he's back from Busan, we're meeting later to talk.''

''You want me to drop you off? I'm meeting with a friend and I pass his building.'' The older one suggested, grinning up at her.

Jieun smiled, appreciative. ''That would be nice, thanks unnie.''

''Come,'' Nayeon grabbed her hand, pulling her to the other members, ''we're still practising and we need someone to criticise us.'' She teased, a smirk on her face as she glanced at her younger member.

Nayeon stopped the car in front of the building, looking over at the tense Jieun in the passenger seat. She placed her hand on her thigh. ''It's gonna be okay, but just remember that you are right in this situation and don't you let him change your mind about that.''

She slapped Nayeon's arm. ''Hey! If you guys would stop making mistakes, I wouldn't have to criticise you.'' Jieun teased back, loud enough for the other members to hear. Her comments resulted in moans and groans from them, but it was all in good fun.

Jieun chuckled at her words. ''I know, thanks for dropping me off, unnie.'' She gave her hand a squeeze and opened the car door.

''Please call if you need me, okay?'' The lead dancer expectantly looked at her, raising her eyebrows.

''I will.''

She watched Nayeon drive away after bidding each other goodbye, before making her way to the entrance of the building. A few months prior, Jeongguk had given her the code that she needed for the entrance door.

Even though Jieun had confidence the issue would be resolved, she couldn't help but wait in the elevator on shaking limbs. There was a slight doubt in her mind that maybe he hadn't changed his mind. What if he still thought that Seokwoo had bad intentions? What if he still thought she would defend her ex and blame it on him? She shook her head at her negative thoughts, trusting Jeongguk had reflected on himself.

The tension within herself built up with every step she took. Jieun hesitated before typing in the code, needing time to let out a few deep breaths. After half a minute, she quickly typed it in, figuring she'd do it before she totally freaked herself out and ran back downstairs. She dropped her back on the floor, along with her shoes and padding coat.

Jeongguk stood up from the couch as soon as he heard her press the first digit, wiping his sweaty hands on his pants. He walked towards the hallway, but stood still a few metres from the front door. He didn't want to overwhelm her by standing in front of her.

''Hey.'' Jieun mumbled once she noticed him, slowly walking over to him. The anxious expression on his face did not escape her. ''Hey…'' Jeongguk unsurely greeted her back, watching her approach him with sad eyes.

''Come here, you.'' She pulled him down into her arms, not able to stand not touching him. Jeongguk let out a big sigh of relief and wrapped his own arms around her.

He moved himself, so he was basically trapping her in his arms. ''I missed you so fucking much, I don't ever wanna do this again.'' His words almost came out in whimpers.

''I missed you too, Guk.'' Jieun pressed a single kiss against his neck, a way of calming him down.

His hands moved from her shoulders to her face, cupping her cheeks. ''I'm so sorry, alright? I was a complete asshole to you and Rowoon, and I shouldn't have said all those things,'' Jeongguk looked deep into her eyes, wanting her to feel and see the guilt he was experiencing, ''the members made me realise how stupid I sounded, Namjoonie-hyung almost had my head when I told him about our fight.'' He chuckled, recalling the disappointed look on his leader's face.

''The point is- I know he was just being polite and there weren't any underlying meanings to his actions. You two dated a long time ago, before we even knew each other and the both of you have moved on. Jieun, I'm really sorry. I should have listened to you, really listened to you, but I was too stubborn and with the concert and everything, I was just in my head. I hope you can forgive me, love.''

Jieun placed her hands on top of his, moving them from her cheeks to her waist. She placed her arms around his shoulder and pulled him a bit closer. ''Of course I forgive you, honey. I'm so happy that you understand my perspective. Maybe I also should've been a bit more understanding, I mean, I also wouldn't have been too fond of the idea of one of your exes coming to our table like that. It's all good now, okay? This is a good lesson for us. When one of us is upset we should talk to one another, yeah?''

Jeongguk nodded, smiling once she accepted his apology. ''You're right, you're always right.'' He pressed his lips against hers, having missed the taste of her mouth.

Jieun smiled into the kiss, relieved they could put this all behind them and that they could move forward. ''How was the concert? I saw some videos of it, it looked like you had fun.'' She asked him, pulling him to the living room.

''It was fun, it was nice to perform with the members again like that and the fans all seemed to have enjoyed it as well.'' They settled on the couch, Jieun resting her head against his shoulder and Jeongguk's right arm draped over her legs.

She nodded, content that he had a good time. ''Oh, that's nice to hear, honey.''

''And you? You had fun?'' Jeongguk pressed a kiss on the crown of her head and leaned his head against hers.

He heard her chuckle. ''Yeah, I hadn't seen Jennie and Jisoo-unnie in a while, so it was great seeing them again.'' She answered, drawing circles on his thigh with her finger.

''That's good, I'm happy you had fun.''

Jieun glanced up at him. ''How were your parents? They must have been happy you were back in Busan?''

''My mom was angry at me for making you upset, she scolded me.'' Jeongguk pouted, speaking in a cute whining voice.

She chuckled at his answer. ''Really? Oh~ I love your mom, she gets me.''

Jeongguk glimpsed down at her. ''Yah! What do you mean she gets you? I'm the one getting scolded at 25 years-old.'' He continued whining, although there was a joking tone to his words.

''Good, that way I don't have to do it anymore.''

''Does Bam have a favourite?'' Taehyung's question rang through the apartment, having everyone present look at the young couple.

Jeongguk proudly nodded his head, pointing at himself. ''Obviously me, I clean his poop and wipe his butt everyday.''

Jin, Hobi and Taehyung glanced at the woman sitting on the couch, who was visibly trying to hold her laughter in. Jieun looked down at her lap, a tired Bam laying across her legs. ''Yeah, you're definitely the favourite.'' She teased in a sarcastic tone.

The members laughed at her words, while the 97-liner pouted his lips. ''Hey! I don't see you cleaning that ginormous shit of his.'' Jeongguk complained, demonstrating the size of Bam's poop with his hands in dramatic fashion.

''When you got Bam, you said you would do all the dirty stuff and that I didn't have to worry about anything since you adopted him.'' Jieun defended herself.

It was early into their dating stage that Jeongguk had adopted the Doberman into his home. He had assured her that it was his dog and that he didn't expect her to take care of Bam in any way, but Jieun gladly helped out here and there. She didn't think her and Bam would get along as well as they did since Jieun was more of a cat person.

Bam quickly grew attached to the woman, always excitedly greeting her when she walked into the door and clinging onto her whenever she did anything. Jeongguk noticed and started referring to Jieun as 'mom' whenever he talked to Bam about her.

''Ji, you scold him too much, he definitely likes me more.'' Her boyfriend continued, not stopping until she admitted that he is Bam's favourite.

Jieun rolled her eyes. ''It's thanks to my scolding that he's so well-behaved, you're always wrestling with him.'' The two bickered back-and-forth, ignoring the three members and the dog watching them.

''Guys, there's only one way to end the entire discussion!'' Jin exclaimed, making the two stop and look at the oldest member. ''You two call Bam at the same time, whoever he comes to, is his favourite.'' He concluded.

Jeongguk got up from his chair. ''I like that, come on, Bam!'' He moved to the couch and sat next to his girlfriend, who looked unimpressed by the entire thing.

''Bam, come here.'' Hobi motioned for the boy to come to him. He got up from Jieun's lap and moved over to Hobi, who immediately started petting him.

She offered him a sarcastic smile. ''You tell me.''

''3, 2, 1, go!'' Taehyung counted down.

''Bam! Come here, boy!'' ''Bam-ie, sit next to me.'' The couple called him over, Jeongguk's voice towering over Jieun's. However, that didn't seem to have any effect as Bam swiftly made his way to Jieun's side of the couch and planted himself in her lap again.

''And we have a winner! Kim Jieun, everyone!'' Jin declared, heavily amused by their maknae losing the little competition.

Jieun put her arms around the big dog, kissing his face. ''My good boy! I know you love mom the most, my baby.'' She coddled him, looking over at a pouty Jeongguk.

''Hey, Bam! Without me, she wouldn't even be your mom, remember that.'' He whined, crossing his arms.

''You jealous hag.''

''I don't know how they do it.''

Hobi's listening party was absolutely stacked with people, a lot of people Maya knew, but also a lot of people that she didn't knew. She had her doubts about going to the event, since she and Jungkook weren't publicly dating, but they agreed to just stay out of each other's way and meet up after the party was done.

She was having a great time. She reunited with some people she hadn't seen in a long time, like Sunmi and Dongmin. Yes, she was sad that she couldn't go up to her boyfriend, but she was there to support Hobi and she wasn't looking forward to having a dating scandal just yet.

Maya had interrupted her conversation with Lee Hi as she finished her drink and wanted a new one. She excused herself and walked up to the bar. She was handed a new glass of champagne and was about to walk back to her previous conversation partner when she stopped herself. Two people on the dance floor caught her attention.

Hyuna and Dawn.

The idol couple seemed to be in their own world, looking into each other's eyes as if one would disappear if the other one looked away. They danced, not caring one bit about what any bystander would think of them.

The Twice member must not have been subtle with her staring as someone took the place beside her and talked to her.

''Excuse me?''

The unknown woman pointed at the dancing couple. ''I don't know how they keep going after all that scrutiny just because they're dating.'' The confusion on Maya's face was evident, since the woman immediately followed her words up with an introduction. ''I'm sorry, I'm Minyoung.''

''I'm Jieun, nice to meet you.'' She introduced herself with a small bow of the head. Minyoung chuckled. ''Yeah, I know, I think the entire country knows.'' She joked, making the female idol even more uncomfortable.

''It's weird that after all these years, people are still so sensitive about idols dating. It's crazy.'' Minyoung continued, but Maya had no idea what to say to the woman. Why would she discuss such matters with a person she's never met before.

''You're an idol, what do you think about it?'' She directed the question at Maya, who wasn't very impressed by the conversation and just wanted to go back to people she did know.

She shrugged her shoulders. ''I don't really care about the personal lives of other idols, to be honest.'' Maya kept it polite, not wanting to come off as rude.

''Fair point,'' Minyoung said, ''but still it must not be easy.''

''I think, especially for the BTS members. I mean, they go further than just Korea, they're worldwide, the impact would be huge and not just on them, on their partner as well.''

Minyoung continued. ''How could you be in a relationship knowing the people that support you are completely against it and throw mean words and threats towards the person you love. A relationship like that just wouldn't work and especially if it's with another idol. Just imagine, it's either breaking up or giving up your career. Who would risk that for another person?''

It made her sad for some reason, listening to Minyoung's mini rant about idol dating. Her and Jungkook had been dating for more than a year and everything was going pretty well. Conflicting schedules were annoying, yes, but they knew that beforehand. So, why did she feel so discouraged all of a sudden? Maybe somewhere deep inside she knew that what Minyoung was saying wasn't entirely false.

Maya looked over at Jungkook who was sitting next to Taehyung and Namjoon as they were being filmed by their staff for some behind the scenes content. He was smiling around them, looking genuinely content about being with his members. As she looked at him, she thought about Minyoung's question. Who would risk their entire career, that they've worked on since they were a kid, for another person? Would she risk the career that she has been building since she was 11 years-old for someone?

''It was nice to talk to you, Minyoung,'' Maya held out her hand for the woman which she took and shook, ''I have to excuse myself, I have early schedules tomorrow.'' She did have schedules the next day, but thet weren't early at all. ''Likewise, Jieun. Have a good night.''

''You too.''

Maya put her glass of champagne down on a random table and made her way towards the exit, not even caring about saying goodbye to anyone, she just wanted to go home and lay in her bed. ''Unnie, can you pick me up?... Yes, from the party… it's not done yet, I'm just very tired… yeah, but he's with his members, I didn't wanna interrupt that… yes, I'll wait there… thanks… see you soon… bye.'' Jeongyeon had always been one of the members she confided in the most, she had this motherly nature about her that made Maya trust her so much.

Maya waited outside in the parking lot for her member and immediately got in once Jeongyeon had arrived, wanting to get out of there as soon as possible.

''Are you okay, Ji?'' The older one had sensed straight away that something was off with her fellow member, she could read them all like a book.

She was about to nod and lie about her true state, but realised that she didn't have to fake anything with her members. ''Can you answer something for me and I need you to be as honest as possible.''

Upon seeing her unnie nod, she proceeded. ''If my relationship were to be leaked to the public, do you think it will last?''

The question visibly took Jeongyeon by surprise, a frown forming on her face. ''Where is this coming from? Did something happen?''

''Can you answer first, please?''

Jeongyeon sighed, a deep breath leaving her mouth. ''Jesus, Ji, I mean, there will obviously be a lot of talk about it. People will have their opinions, but I think if you guys really want to make it work, I think it will last, yes.''

Maya simply nodded, taking her words in. ''Okay, thanks.''

''Can I get an explanation, please?'' Jeongyeon asked, still confused as to where her sudden question came from.

''It's nothing, I just had a conversation with someone and I wondered what your opinion was.'' The vague clarification didn't ease Jeongyeon's worries any less, but it was late and she was too tired to ask further about it. ''Alright, let's go home now~''

''Hey, hyung,'' Jungkook tapped Jun on the shoulder, ''have you seen Jieun? Can't find her and she isn't texting me back.'' He whispered, not wanting anyone to eavesdrop.

The eldest shook his head, not having seen her for almost the entire evening. ''No, sorry.''

Jungkook desperately looked around once more, despite having searched the entire place for his girlfriend, but no result whatsoever. ''Shit.''

''Maybe something came up, I wouldn't worry about it.'' Jin tried comforting the maknae, not thinking much of Maya's absence.

''What's up Jungkookie?'' Jimin had walked over to his members upon seeing Jungkook's distraught face. ''I don't know where Jieun is.''

''I saw her leave about 20 minutes ago, I think.'' Jimin calmly said, remembering seeing her leave the room. ''Wait, you didn't know?''

''No! She's not answering her phone, why would she suddenly leave?'' It wasn't that out of the ordinary for Maya not to answer calls or texts, but it felt a bit different to him this time.

Jimin and Jin didn't really know what to say to him, they also felt a bit confused by her lack of response. ''She probably has a good reason, you know her, she wouldn't just leave without a reason.'' Jimin squeezed Jungkook's shoulder, an attempt at calming him down a bit.

The youngest one simply nodded, too caught up in his own mind. ''Yeah, you're right.''

Guk: please call me, darling

BILLBOARD WOMEN IN MUSIC AWARDS 2023

TWICE was honored with the ‘Breakthrough Award’ and they closed the show with a dazzling performance of ‘Moonlight Sunrise’.

— HIGHLIGHTS

:: Jieun was the one that wrote their speech in English, but she didn’t want to say it herself. Chaeyoung and Tzuyu chose themselves to give the speech, and Jieun helped them with the pronunciation.

:: The camera kept panning to her and she grew more embarrassed each time she was shown on the large screen. She did send the camera a wink one time, causing Quinta to flinch since it happened quite fast and fans started screaming and barking.

— MEETING CELEBRITIES

:: Jieun has the best English skills in the group, so she was appointed by the members and staff to do most of the talking and translating.

:: When Sabrina Carpenter gave them their award, she excitedly greeted all of the members as they walked onto the stage. Jieun and Sabrina shared a kiss on the cheek when they saw each other. The American singer also started following Jieun on her personal Instagram account after the show.

:: Jieun is quite the fan of SZA and when the girls saw her walking down the hallway, Jieun was put in charge of making sure they got a picture with her. She was very nervous going up to her, but she managed to ask the female artist for a group photo. “Of course, I wanted to take one with y’all.” SZA excitedly responded, walking over to the rest of the members.

:: J-Hope had messaged Becky G saying that a good friend of his would be there (meaning Jieun) and that the pair should take a selfie together and send it to him. Becky saw their soundcheck and when they were done, she went up to Jieun and they took a picture together.

○ drip drop taemin collab + bts reaction

At MAMA 2017 in Hong Kong, Maya did a surprise collaboration stage with Taemin to his sing Drip Drop. She joined him in the middle of the performace and it was safe to say everyone was shocked. Exo was surprised, Wanna One was surprised, but the best reaction went to BTS.

The members either sat with their mouths open the entire performance or attentively watched everything that was happening. The most watched ones were Jungkook and Taehyung, though. Taehyung had a shocked expression on his face the entire performace and Jungkook could not close his mouth for god sake.

Jimin was hyping his bestie Taemin up and Hobi seemed very impressed with the dancing and stage presence of maya, the choreo being completely different than what she normally does with Twice.

Yoongi bopped his head to the song and Namjoon and Jin attentively watched, visibly enjoying the unexpected collaboration.

At the end of the award show, all the groups present stand on the stage to say goodbye to all of the fans. Twice and Seventeen were standing next to each other. Maya and Mingyu were at the ends of their groups and stood side by side with a little space between the two of them.

Dokyeom was standing next to Mingyu and kept secretly glancing at the Twice member. Mingyu noticed and gave him a teasing grin. What fans also noticed is that Mingyu grabbed Dokyeom's shoulders and switched places with him, so he could stand next to her.

Of course, Maya is not an idiot and saw them switching in the corner of her eye. She looked at Dokyeom who was already looking at her and gave him a slight bow of the head.

At the 2016 Melon Music Awards, when Twice were accepting their award, the camera zoomed in on Maya. The crowd started going wild, but Maya seemed clueless as to what was going on. Her face came up on the main LED screen for everyone to enjoy her visuals.

The screen then cut to Chanyeol who was caught mouthing "Ah.. she is pretty," before noticing he was on camera. He quickly buried his head in embarrasment.

the episode started with the cast expressing that Maya had been one of the most requested celebrities to come on the show. The entire male cast showed passionate reactions to the Momo and Maya, especially Key who revealed his love for Twice with a huge smile.

Maya was asked to give a few words to Key before they begun the show. As she turned to him, Key took out his personal phone as if he wanted to capture her words.

''I think I'm gonna cry at the concert, like I'm really sure of it.'' Jimin said, already shaking his head at the thought.

It made the three others laugh. ''It's gonna be emotional for sure.'' Hobi agreed, thinking about the Busan concert that was coming up in a few days.

''But it's also gonna be fun, hyung.'' Jeongguk added, not wanting them to dwell in the negativity.

Hobi, Jimin, Jeongguk and Jieun had met up in one of the top restaurants in Seoul, it was quite exclusive so they didn't have to worry about being spotted in public with each other.

''Jieunie, you're coming, right?'' Jimin asked her, hopefully glancing at her from across the table. She nodded her head, confirming it. ''Yes, I will be there.''

''Jennie also invited her to the Blackpink concert, so it took her a while to choose.'' The sarcastic tone in which her boyfriend spoke didn't go unnoticed.

She slapped his chest. ''Hey! I've known her for over 10 years, how do you choose between your best friend and boyfriend?''

The Blackpink concert in Seoul and the BTS Busan concert were scheduled on the same day. Jieun had been invited by both Jennie and Jeongguk to come to their own respective concerts. It had taken her a while to choose which one to go to, she didn't want to upset either one. As soon as Jennie knew about it, she told Jieun to go to the BTS one, knowing it would be a while before they had a concert together as a group again. ''Maybe you can come to the one in Japan.'' Is what her older friend had said to her, which Jieun promised she would do.

''I understand it, Ji, but I'm happy you're going to ours.'' Hobi reassured her.

Jeongguk nodded at his words. ''Yeah! You're not gonna want to miss it! We're gonna perform 'Run BTS' and-''

''Jieun-ah?''

A sudden figure appeared at their table, the Twice member looked up and was met with Seokwoo, also known as Rowoon, also known as her ex-boyfriend.

She slightly gasped, surprised. ''Oh my god, hey! How are you?'' Jieun got up and offered him a hug, which he gratefully accepted. ''I'm good, it's nice to see you.''

Things between her and Seokwoo hadn't ended on bad terms. Jieun was about to appear on Sixteen and she wanted to put all of her focus on that, not on a boyfriend. Seokwoo had understood and promised he would keep supporting her. That was 7 years ago.

''Likewise, oh, you probably know these guys.'' She pointed at the three BTS members, wanting to include them in the small interaction. Hobi and Jimin offered the idol-turned-actor with a welcoming smile. ''Rowoon-ah.''

However, next to Jieun's empty seat sat a less impressed Jeongguk who just gaped at the man, not saying anything. Jieun gave him a subtle glare, wanting him to at least acknowledge the guy.

''I heard you're going to the Halloween party, the W Korea one?'' Seokwoo said, awkwardly looking from Jeongguk to Jieun.

She nodded with a soft smile. ''Yeah, you too?'' He also confirmed with a nod of his head, looking delighted she would also be there.

''I'm going too!'' Hobi chimed in, gathering chuckles from everyone but the unamused maknae.

''That's great, uh, I'm gonna leave now, but I'll see you then.'' Seokwoo took that as his sign to leave, the disgruntled Jeongguk shooting daggers at him with his eyes.

Jieun patted his upper arm, figuring another hug would upset her boyfriend even more. ''Yeah, I'll see you, bye!'' She sent him off with a look in her eyes that hopefully apologised for the behaviour of the youngest man at the table.

She sat back down again. Jieun opted to call Jeongguk out for his childish attitude, but decided not to as she didn't want to do that in front of his members. ''Sorry, what were we talking about? Oh, the concert.'' She remembered, trying to resume their previous conversation.

''Yeah, it's gonna be really fun,'' Jimin went along, nodding at her, ''we've prepared a lot and it's gonna pay off well.'' Jieun gave him an appreciative smile, relieved at least one person was going along with it.

''You guys are doing 'Run BTS'? The fans are really gonna like that, I think.'' She remembered Jeongguk saying that before they were interrupted.

Hobi excitedly nodded his head. ''Yes! They've been asking for it and it just wouldn't be right to not-''

''Excuse me, I'm going to the bathroom.'' Jeongguk excused himself from the table, getting up without saying anything else. Jieun sadly watched his figure leave, sighing loudly for the other two men to hear.

They gave her a sympathetic smile, feeling bad. ''Don't worry about him, Ji. He gets upset when he doesn't get attention.'' Hobi explained, not aware what Seokwoo and Jieun's history was.

''No, I, uh, I know what it is,'' she brushed it off, ''we'll talk when we get home.''

The two seemed a bit confused, but Jieun's words made them less worried about the situation. They were sure the couple would talk about it and it would be resolved.

''He's also been stressed with the concert and stuff, I think a lot of things are just piling up for him. You know how perfect he wants everything.'' Jimin said, having noticed how Jeongguk got agitated quite fast the last few weeks.

Jieun nodded, knowing all about it. ''I know, I tried to talk to him about it, but he shuts me down immediately. I was hoping he talked to you guys about it.''

''It's the same thing with us, we figured he was talking to you about it.'' Hobi told her, realising the youngest was holding all his feelings and thoughts to himself.

In the corner of her eye, she saw that Jeongguk was making his way back to their table. ''He's coming back.'' She told his two members, who immediately changed the topic back to the concert.

''Do you mind going home, Ji? I think I ate something wrong.'' He avoided her eyes, looking down at the table instead.

She could see right through him, he no longer wanted to be in the same place that her ex-boyfriend just was. ''Sure, are you okay?''

''Yeah, I just need some sleep.'' He grabbed his jacket and put it on, moving around the table to say goodbye to his members.

Hobi and Jimin offered to pay, but Jieun said they would do it, since they're the first to leave. Jeongguk gave her a look, but smiled at his hyungs. ‘’Bye, guys!’’

''Here,'' Jeongguk handed her his car keys as they walked away from the table, ''you get warm in the car and I'll go pay then.'' Before she could say anything, he had already walked over to the waiter's station. Jieun frowned, but made her way to their car in the private parking of the restaurant.

She only had to wait about a minute or so for Jeongguk to get back. He sighed while getting in the driver's seat, catching Jieun's attention. ''What's with you?'' She asked him, remaining calm.

She saw him tightening his jaw as the question left her lips. ''Oh, I don't know. Maybe it was that friend of yours who decided to crash our dinner or maybe the fact that when I want to go pay for the dinner, our waiter tells me that it's already been paid for by a gentleman named Seokwoo.'' He rambled on, sounding more angry with every word that came out of his mouth. He had a tight grip on the steering wheel as his veins seemed ready to pop out at any moment.

''Look, I understand that you're stressed with the concert and everything, and that seeing an ex-boyfriend of mine doesn't help with that stress, but you can't just walk away from a nice time with your members like that. It's embarrassing.'' She knew her boyfriend could be jealous, but this was the first time he actually got upset like this.

Jeongguk scoffed at her words, finally looking her in the eyes. ''Embarrassing? I embarrassed you?'' Her words must have hit a nerve with him, ''That asshole of an ex of yours completely embarrassed ME out there! Hugging MY girlfriend, talking to MY members! The dick even paid for MY dinner, he's making a mockery out of me!''

Jieun gaped at him, in disbelief. ''Did you even think for one second that he was maybe just trying to be nice?

''He was trying to make me look bad in front of you, so he can swoop in and steal you from me.'' The man grew more frustrated at Jieun's inability to understand his point of view.

She was almost at a loss for words. ''Steal me from you? What are you going on about? He just wanted to come and say hi, it's as simple as that! He doesn't even know that we are together.''

''Of course, he knows! Why else would he interrupt our dinner?''

''Because he's a nice person? Because we haven't seen each other in years? You're seeing things that aren't there, Guk.'' Despite her own frustrations with the situation, she remained calm. She doesn't like to raise her voice and especially not at Jeongguk.

''No, you're the ignorant one! He's obviously trying to get in your pants and you're just letting him do that! I-I can't believe you, I can't believe you're not seeing it.''

Jieun was at a loss for words, completely stunned. She grabbed her handbag from the car floor and looked at him one last time. ''I'm not having this argument with you when you're acting like a child. Call me when you've calmed down and are ready to talk with me like an adult. Goodnight, Guk.'' She opened the car door and got out, realising he wasn't properly listening to her and he wasn't planning on doing that either.

She called a taxi for herself that didn't take long to arrive. After informing the driver of her destination, she sent a text to Nayeon.

Ma Eun: unnie, I'm on my way to the dorm now

Ma Eun: you want me to bring you some food or anything?

Nayeonnie: I already ate, thanks 💙

Nayeonnie: I thought you were staying with Jungkook?

Ma Eun: change of plans

Jieun was relieved to be back in her own space, the smell of Nayeon's food entering her nostrils. ''Unnie, It's me!'' She took off her shoes and jacket, before walking into the living room.

''What happened?'' Nayeon went straight to the point, too curious.

Jieun simply sighed, already tired from even thinking about what happened in the car with Jeongguk. ''I'll explain tomorrow, I just want to sleep.'' She ruffled her member's hair and walked to her room.

''Alright, sleep well, Jieunie!''

''He said what?'' Nayeon looked at her younger sister in horror as Jieun explained her argument with Jeongguk from the previous day.

Jieun simply nodded her head. ''I know, I understand that with everything going on around him that he's experiencing a lot of stress, but he doesn't have to take that out on me.''

''Poor Rowoon, though. He just wanted to be polite.'' The older one commented, feeling sympathy for the guy. Jieun agreed. ''Yeah, he's always been like that. I just tried to make Jeongguk see that what he did was something out of kindness, not a way to show off or anything.''

Nayeon grabbed her hand. ''Just wait until he calls, Ji. I'm sure he's realised by now that what he said was out of line and he'll call soon.'' She assured her, a comforting smile on her face.

And a few hours later, his call did come through. Jieun took a deep breath before answering, getting herself ready. ''Hi.''

''Hey, honey.'' He greeted her, she could tell by his tone that he was nervous. ''I did some thinking and I owe you an apology.''

''I shouldn't have lost my shit like that in the car. I shouldn't have walked away like that from our table. I shouldn't have urged you to go home when you were having a good time with the members. I'm sorry, Ji.'' Jeongguk apologised, out of breath by the time he finished.

Jieun smiled to herself. ''I'm happy you realised what you did was wrong, darling. Arguments happen to every couple, but I want us to listen to one another. I'm relieved that you know now that Seokwoo had good intentions.''

''I still feel the same about him, Ji. I just feel guilty for the way I went about telling you, the guy's literally obsessed with you.'' His words caused a pang to go through her heart.

''You're kidding, right? You still think that?''

''Babe, there's too much coincidence! He's there just at the same time that we are there!'' Jeongguk held his opinion that Rowoon was there actively trying to pursue his girlfriend.

Jieun rolled her eyes, she didn't want to do a repeat of yesterday. ''Well, if you're not gonna apologise for that, I will tell Jennie-unnie I'm going to her concert tomorrow, instead of yours.''

''You're not serious? You're still defending him?'' Jeongguk was in disbelief.

''I am serious. I'm sorry, but I'd rather go to my best friend's show than to someone who can't even see their own mistakes. He was just being polite for god's sake! Not everyone that looks in my direction wants to get in my pants. Focus on your show and we'll talk in a few days, I can't even speak to you right now.'' With that she hung up the phone, shaking her head while thinking back on his words. She just couldn't believe that he thought him walking away from their table was worse than what he said about Rowoon.

Jieun pushed her thoughts away as she scrolled through her contact list, having to make a call.

''Unnie? Yeah, I'm gonna need a ticket for the show…''

''Don't look at me like that.'' Maya said as she closed the car door.

Nayeon couldn't help but laugh while driving out of the parking lot. ''How am I looking at you?'' She asked, a huge grin on her face.

''Like you're judging me, unnie.'' The younger one answered, taking off her heels and switching them with the slippers that Nayeon had brought with her.

The oldest Twice member shook her head. ''I'm not judging you, Ji-ah! It's just that you didn't come home last night and you're still wearing the same clothes,'' Nayeon giggled, ''I didn't know you did things like that on a first date with a stranger.''

''First, I didn't have sex with him. We just talked for a long time, it was late and he suggested that I'd stay ove-''

''Did you sleep in the same room?'' She interrupted, raising her left eyebrow.

''No, we did not,'' Maya answered her, ''and second, he wasn't a stranger.'' She finished her original thought.

Nayeon's head swiftly turned towards Maya, but still focused on the road. ''Wait! You knew him already? OMG!''

''I think almost the entire world knows him.'' Her answer caused her to unconsciously smirk.

''Huh? Who is it?''

''Jeon Jeongguk.''

Unlike Namjoon and Hobi, Nayeon remained calm and actually didn't seem that shocked by Maya's answer. ''Oh! I should've known! Remember when we were doing promotions for Fancy and I think we were at M Countdown or something, and he just stared at you when you greeted him? That was hilarious.'' Nayeon started laughing again, remembering the moment.

''Yeah, he's not very subtle,'' Maya laughed as well, ''last night, he was kinda like that in the beginning. But once he got comfortable, he actually talked a lot and I don't know, it was very nice.''

While thinking back on her date, a soft smile appeared on Maya's face what didn't go unnoticed by Nayeon. She would tease her younger sister on the matter, but decided not to. Since Maya's break-up with Seungyoun, it had been a while seeing her genuinely smile like that. ''That's good, Ji. I'm glad you enjoyed it.''

''You have another date planned with him?'' Nayeon asked.

Maya shrugged her shoulders. ''He asked me if I would like to do it again sometime and I said I would love to, so I take that as a yes.''

''Nice,'' she nodded, ''sex on a second date might be more appropriate.''

After that little incident, she focused a bit more on Bam and called him ''good boy'' and ''baby'' throughout the rest of the live.

During the award ceremony of the Melon Music Awards in 2017, Sana and Maya were sitting next to each other, while the other members sat a row behind them.

The duo weren't really paying attention to the ceremony as they kept whispering and giggling with each other. The other members behind them noticed the pair were in their own world and started pointing at them while seemingly talking about them to each other.

ONCES took notice of the weird moment and started making conspiracy theories on why the members reacted to them like that.

For example, when she complained on Bubble about Sana not spending as much time with her as she used to. The most famous example is when Sana decided to spend Christmas Eve with WJSN's Yeonjung instead of with Maya. Sana told fans in a Vlive that ''Jieunie is very sulky these days, she was sulking that I've replaced her. She's cute when she's jealous.'' However, when Maya was asked in a Vlive about her supposed jealousy, she denied it, although it was obvious that she was in fact jealous.
