head in hands thinking about how the mighty nein saved the world or at least countless lives from lucien and cognouza and no one is ever going to know. so very few people knew what they were up against and less helped and they're not going to tell the story themselves. they don't want the attention they just wanted to go home or to make a home. they just wanted to save their friend. ohhh my god
#even in a post canon world where members of tmn become well-known#I'm thinking jes/fjord/king become fun campy (in)famous pirates and beau and caleb become important figures in the empire yknow#they wouldn't talk about that fight. they would talk about how they took down ikithon and how they helped the dynasty#and their fight against ukatoa/avantika and thsthsir adventures in darktow and of course jes would talk about travelercon but#how do you begin to explain aeor and cognouza. and why would they. aeor is incredibly dangerous and full of powerful magic they wouldn't#want to call attention to and cognouza is gone so what's the point in discussing it. how do you talk about a dead man when his body is#still alive and houses someone who isn't him. I think they keep that secret and safe and guarded just for them and they deserve to be able#to do that. and so people are never going to know the lengths they went to save the world. but. once again#they weren't particularly trying to save the world they were trying to save molly#and there are parts of their story that they just can't tell if they want essek to be safe which is. jfkfjfkfnkfngkgm#they can't talk about that night in nicodranas and they can't talk about why he went to eiselcross or why he went to cognouza with them#without people wondering what the dynasty wanted with All That and the answer is that the dynasty was just not involved. it was all essek#and that can't be explained unless other things are explained#for safety and for the sake of old wounds and privacy and so that aeor doesn't become any more of a wizard hotspot than it already is and#for king's sake and for the simple fact that none of tmn probably want that incredibly traumatizing experience to be known.#no one ever tells that story. it dies with them#maybe essek tells it centuries down the line. hm.
