i'm trying to explain mdlr to my sister tonight so i'm probably gonna skim through ragnarok but like. out of the 3 seasons so far ragnarok was complete shit. like the og was fine at least without getting into the nitty gritty of it gods of a new world has to be my favorite the plot is interesting but ragnarok is like. i don't fucking know what happened. there was uhhh the moon and spica and utgard loki who died and loki who died and heimdall who sort of died not really and then asgard blew up or whatever i don't fuckin know man

honestly despite it being a comedy show none of the characters have it good (except for mayura and uhhh the blonde rich guy that's mayuras friend katou or something i forget his name) like loki is being hunted down reiya is/was stuck with her family that eventually gets murdered also she's burdened with prophetic dreams and sometimes she blinks and all of her friends stare at her like she murdered a man cause she has no recollection of freya she is literally just a little girl !!!! and also she's supposed to be dead in the anime !!!!! but she gets reanimated by freya sorta !!!!! like she is literally an 8 year old that got possessed by a god (or the reincarnation of a god depending how you look at it ? the anime makes it seem more like possession while the manga makes it seem more like reincarnation) anyways the point is she's going through a lot ok but she's mostly oblivious to the being possessed/reincarnated/spiritually tied to a god thing. umm anyways heimdall is so sad i will defend him forever and ever he lost his eye to loki and yet he sees loki going about with less suffering than him and it's like. not right. heimdall has suffered more and loki is the one who caused him so why is he the one who's lost his purpose and his divinity while loki gets to be surrounded by his family and friends and regain the ability to go back to asgard? idk anyways yamino and fenrir have it ok they just want to be with their dad hel is also so incredibly sad to me but this post is getting long so i'll probably ramble more about her and reiya and heimdall again ina more organized manner in a diff post

heimdalls dynamic with like. anyone. is so incredibly funny to me.

loki obviously heimdall wants him dead but loki views heimdall as an inconvenience and also turns around and says heimdall is his "(dear, in some translations) friend" all while heimdall has actively been plotting his death and trying to carrying it after for like 12 volumes. of course it's kinda more serious at some parts but it's played off as just silly a lot of the time lmao

mayura is so so funny to me cause he's all like "i am just a little boy ^_^" around her and she buys into it cause he literally is a little boy as far as she knows and she is so confused when loki occasionally is pissed off at him for seemingly no reason

and then yamino and fenrir always silently judge him if he's not actively being violent

freyr and heimdall are silly to me cause from an avg persons view of it freyr probably looks like heimdalls older brother but heimdall is doing the bossing around half of the time (actually they kind of are reminiscent of loki and yamino in a way now that i think about it ? freyr is just less cooperative and competent and heimdall is more aggressive lmao)

hel and heimdall is just kind of sad to me though. heimdall tries to stop her from going down the path that he has in search of revenge for some sort of betrayal but he can only fight back so much as he is bound by his debt to her (at least that's how it goes iirc ? i haven't watched the anime in a few weeks and i've only seen it once so i'm going off of dialogue i vaguely remember take this description with a grain of salt /shrug)
