this isn’t a request for a scenario or headcanon, but may i ask your thoughts on the current aot manga situation? if you’re comfortable with sharing your thoughts on it anyway, i’m just curious seeing as i don’t really have anyone to talk to about it and i feel like it’ll be interesting to see your POVS on it 🥰. if you’re not comfortable with sharing your thought please ignore this by all means! but i hope you have an amazing night/day! ❤️
i’ve been ‘waitin for this one...turn it up!
MANGA SPOILERS BENEATH THE CUT!
So...there’s obviously a lot to be said about the manga in its current state of affairs. Personally, I didn’t mind the basement reveal, nor do I really mind the fact that Marley is the true enemy. It’s been hinted at since the beginning, whether people want to believe it or not, and I think that the Liberio Invasion Arc was one of Isayama’s best. I do think it has gotten a bit convoluted in its lore, however. PATHS is a really difficult concept to wrap my head around and I had to go to the wikia to even try to understand it, but I still like the idea behind it. I think some pieces are rushed and the ending seems like Isayama is trying to push through, but the real star of the series is Eren and his development as a character.
Like, it’s heart-breaking to see what he’s become, but I can also understand how and why it happened. The heart and the soul of the plot rests in his hands and nothing moves forward without Eren in the series. The way Isayama crafted him is nothing short of genius. I know there are a lot of people who despise him because of the Rumbling and then there are people who agree with it, but I’m in the middle. I don’t agree with his actions, but I also don’t agree with the narrative that Eren wanted to do this or had another option. As shown in the manga, Eren tried just about every other avenue before resorting to this. He is clearly distraught by having to go through with it, but what other choice does he have? It’s so sad. He’s my favorite character from any source of media, ever, and snk is my comfort series, so like...lmao. I’m aware that it’s a bizarre series to be my comfort series, but if ‘ya know, you know.
I do think that some of the cast have regressed as characters, though. I think the writing for Mikasa and Armin in particular has really been tragic since the time-skip. I would have loved to see Mikasa break away from Eren and live her life independently, but...aye. Too hopeful of me, lol.
I think the series is going to end with Armin killing Eren, thus ending the cycle of the titans and Marley rule with him. I think the baby Historia gave birth to was Ymir Fritz reincarnated. That’s about it with my theories, though. Thanks for asking this, anon!  No matter how it ends, this series will always be my favorite and will hold a special place in my heart. I’m so sad it’s coming to a close, but I’m so grateful for Isayama for crafting this masterpiece and allowing me to get into an active fandom! Seriously, my time here has been really fun and it will be so sad to let it go once it concludes. At least I’ll still have the anime. :’c
