Top 5 pet names / endearments when writing romance?
Ohhh this is a fun one! These all depend on the specific characters but generally these are the ones I like
5. "My sun and stars" and that kinda thing, in fantasy settings specifically. I was playing skyrim earlier and in a bit of flavor text someone referred to their lover as their "light and strength" and I was like aaaawwwww
4. Beloved. It kinda snuck up on me recently but turns out I really like this one
3. Angel. Mostly cuz Martin uses it before he learns Jon's name in the paladin au and even though it's literally just a noun I think it's sweet
2. Dearest. Especially in romance letters.
1. Babe. A good, solid, universal, one size fits all term of endearment, at least in modern/anachronistic settings.
