This is the question that I've been asking over the last two years since I began giving my daughter the tablet with all the Youtube channels designed specifically for infants. According to certain sources, they assist babies grow, improve cognitive, and other functions. They also encourage social and mental development. I can see that my daughter is enthralled by the videos. She keeps her eyes open and laughing, and she loves it. I'm not understanding the commercials. My child does not consume products so why are you insisting to show my baby advertisements on YouTube at times but not babies?
First, babies don't understand commercials. They are both a waste of money and a waste resource. This commercial (video) is just one example of waste. They are babies, they don't understand! If you're saying that Why are you showing these ads to infants? If a mother, father, or other baby caregivers are watching, then the ads could be beneficial to them? It's becoming frustrating for me.
This is also true with cat videos. Recently, I noticed that my cat loves watching these captivating videos for cats. It's usually birds or mice however, my cat watches them without moving for many hours. Hunting I suppose. They keep interrupting the videos with ads, trying to sell you something. My cat isn't an avid viewer of these videos. For her, ads are irrelevant. Maybe they think I'm watching these videos with my cat. They are in part correct, to be honest I have a tendency to watch the shammy cat videos and my cat more frequently than I do something useful.
That's how I came across the perfect solution. It's basically downloading Youtube videos on my laptop to my tablet or my daughter's tablet to play later. This is as if I were offline and had to have the hard copy stored on my hard drive instead of streaming it via Youtube. See what I mean?
