F U C K YES HERE WE GO

DO I LIKE THEM:I’ll be the first to admit I didn’t really like him at first, since he didn’t really have a lot of purpose, but the way he behaves and talks and the way he’s been turned into a literal meme has definitely changed my opinion for so much better. Waluigi has a lot of substance to his character even though he’s literally been in less mainstream games than, say, Daisy.

5 GOOD QUALITIES:1. His timing as a comic relief character couldn’t be any more spot-on.2. Just…the way he talks…through his nose…ALL THE TIME…makes me laugh SO DAMN HARD. If I tried to talk that way for a really long time I don’t think I could even last a minute.3. There’s just something so funny about how hilariously out of place Waluigi is, height-wise. Like, sure, there are a lot of average height characters in the Mario-verse…and then there’s Waluigi, who literally sticks out like a sore thumb amongst 99% of every character in the series.4. Even though he hasn’t appeared in any mainstream Mario games, he’s still made a really good name for himself as one of the resident memelords of the Mario-verse.5. W A H H H H H H H H H H H H H H H (Is that a reason? Yes, yes it is.)

3 BAD QUALITIES:1. He needs to appear in a mainstream Mario game SOMEDAY, Nintendo…you can’t put that off forever, ya know! (And before anyone asks, NO, that weird DDR game DOES NOT COUNT.)2. Even though he has strong ties with Wario, he doesn’t even appear in any of the Wario-verse games, either??? COME ON, NINTENDO. GET GOOD.3. Don’t get me wrong, I love how he’s a total memelord, but he doesn’t have to be all memelord all the time for his character to be good these days. He used to have substance in his early days, and now…he’s got nothing. We need to remedy that.

FAVORITE EPISODE/ETC:Ohhhh man, why did you make this so hard??? He’s got so many good moments I can’t narrow them down!!! But if you want a definite answer, I’d say the first two Mario Tennis games? Because the first Mario Tennis introduces Waluigi so well, with those weird glowy-eyes of his whenever he tries to do something tricky. It lets us know first and foremost that Waluigi is a trickster. But also Mario Power Tennis is great because it shows off his partners-in-crime dynamic with Wario really well.

OTP:I don’t really have one for Waluigi??? I mean…probably Wario, since he’s one of the only people he has any semblance of a positive relationship with. And what’s fun is that we don’t even know what their relationship is apart from the fact that they’re DEFINITELY NOT BROTHERS. Are they friends? Begrudging allies? Secretly in a relationship? Or, as Charles Martinet says, simply “two evil guys who found each other”? Who knows????

BroTP:Wario and Waluigi, again for the reason I stated above. Obviously. If they’re not in a relationship, at least they’ll be partners in crime until the very end.

OT3:Psssh, I don’t even know. I personally headcanon Waluigi as pan, since I think it doesn’t matter who he’s with as long as someone commits to loving on this guy. Maybe Wario, Waluigi, and…shit, one of Waluigi’s piranha plants??? Idk fam I never thought about this

NoTP:Waluigi and Rosalina, tbh…Rosie is a strong, independent space queen who don’t need no man, least of all Waluigi. He doesn’t deserve her. Nobody deserves her. (Except maybe Pauline? She is the closest to deserving her as anyone gets, in my opinion)

It also took me like, 5 whole minutes to calm down. Like, I think I was laughing just as hard as Waluigi himself during any of the blooper reel he was in.

HEADCANON:Despite being super good at sports, Waluigi is also an enormous theatre snob, particularly when it comes to shows that involve incredibly virtuosic and meticulous choreography. (I mean, come on, why do you think he can dance so well?)Also he’ll spontaneously spam people’s messages with memes, with no context. He makes these memes himself, by the way.
