When I chose interior style for my home there were many things I wish I knew before giving the final say. The main message I want to share is that each interior design tendency which is trending right now will soon be changed by another one, newer and freshier. If you are ready to change your home style every several years, then it should not matter for you. But if you wish to maintain the home interior style not boring for at least 5 years - try to create the interior style that match these criterias: -comfortable and functional furniture. Welcome to our home! Come and sit awhile! 😍 . . I have a love, love relationship with our huge porch. I started to say a “love, hate” relationship. Only because it’s really hard to style because there’s so much of it. But even when it’s not perfectly styled, I still love it. .❤️❤️ . . I feel that no southern farmhouse is complete without a porch. A huge porch with rockers and a swing is even better. I only have a small collection of ironstone pitchers and creamers but when I group them together on these open shelves, they still make a statement. . . I’d love to have a collection of pitchers to fill a whole cabinet like my friend Leslie @astonparkhome but until I do, I’ll group them in a smaller space. . . Red & White Christmas! 🎄 . . That’s been my Christmas theme since moving to The Ponds! It’s been so easy to just cover over the pillows with Red & White ticking or buffalo plaids. . . This year I wanted to change it up a little! (Imagine that😜!). I decided to add a little bling and I’m loving these gold touches mixed with the red and white. 🤶 . . If you zoom in you’ll see our vintage brass bird salt & pepper shakers! They always seem to find a spot on my table regardless of the season. These were inherited from my husband’s grandmother. Outdoor kitchen - the grill side! . . Here’s a view of the other side of our outdoor kitchen. 🤗 . . From this angle you can see.... • the new vintage metal cabinet we recently found. • our new 😜 rustic sink (swipe to see the before) • the new serving area which is actually an old grill base that my husband gutted and then topped with concrete countertops. I made a sign to cover the holes where the original knobs were. • Hanging shelves that my husband built. • The original screened door that my dad built for the door of the original cabin.
