Travel to Attend Family Function in Shantiniketan

I get many reasons to go to various places for work related to my projects, meetings, and conferences. Taking some time off from the job to spend it with family becomes difficult at times. A family function was arranged in Shantiniketan, where we all the relatives were meeting for attending a naming ceremony. Having a family get together after a long time is much fun as we get to have lots of fun and cherish all the old memories of togetherness.

Travel from Gaya to Shantiniketan: We relatives decided to meet directly at the function venue. I checked out the various options to reach Shantiniketan from Gaya and preferred train travel. There were many trains connecting these two stations. I opted to travel by the Gaya - Howrah Express (13024) due to its convenient timings. This train departed from Gaya at 12.20pm and arrives at Shantiniketan at 12.06am. I had booked a ticket in the AC-3 tier coach for my journey. The train journey was comfortable and the coach was maintained clean. The coach attendant provided blanket and pillow for resting while traveling. I spent most of the journey time watching movies on my laptop and sleeping.

Relaxing stay at Mark Meadows, Shantiniketan: The train reached the Bolpur Santiniketan Railway Station at its scheduled time. As I knew that the train would reach the station late in the night, I had already searched the options for Shantiniketan hotels and selected one of them based on the public review. I hired an auto to reach the hotel which was just 5 kilometers away. The hotel was a 3-star hotel located in the city area and some sight-seeing places like Ballavpur Wildlife Sanctuary, Durga Mandir, Amar Kutir, Tagore's Ashram and Rabindra Bhaban Museum were located nearby. The hotel was huge and was surrounded by lawns around it. It had a big lobby with pleasant interiors. The hotel provided various room options but I preferred to stay in the deluxe room. My room was spacious and it offered a scenic view of the lawns from the window. A cool breeze was flowing through the room making it cooler. As it was night time I opted to sleep immediately. Facilities provided in the hotel: The hotel took care of the guest by providing all the necessary amenities required for a comfortable stay. Some of these facilities include:

24 hours room service,

Color television,

Business facilities,

Recreational facilities, etc.

After the tiring long train journey, I had a sound sleep in the cozy and comfortable room. Next day, I attended the naming ceremony which was awesome as it was managed very well. Met many relatives after a long time and had some very good time with all of them. This trip was definitely memorable as the train journey to Shantiniketan was awesome and I had a very good train experience. The hotel stay was lavish and pleasant.
