Maybe this is just me being demi but like. I don’t actually GET when ppl say “romantic and platonic love are different” like. Are you not friends with your partners? Are your partners not friends+??? To me, the feeling of romantic love is like an extension of platonic love, like a branch.

(My partner and I both being aroflux is so important to me. Like. When one or both of us is more towards the aro end of the spectrum, I don’t feel less loved or less loving; it’s just love in a different direction.)

But I also don’t get putting romantic partners and friends on the same “level” like. To me, if my partner WASNT one of my best friends, where does the romantic love come from? My other friends? Yeah I love y’all with my wholeass heart but like. I ALSO need that as a basis for my romantic feelings. So I don’t get how people can “rank” their importance as the same. If they’re the same, why label any sort of distinction?
