Bone remodeling is especially significant in oral implantology where the success and longevity of dental implants is highly dependent on the relationship between the implant components and the surrounding oral tissues. The peri-implant bone remodeling occurs when the implant is exposed to the oral environment in a second stage or one stage immediate loading procedure. This bone remodeling which is usually seen around dental implants results in Bone volume reduction. This decrease in bone volume can occur due to two reasons 1. Stress concentration at the Crestal region of dental implant and 2. Localized inflammation of the soft tissue at the implant abutment.
