do you ever think about how by the end of chapter 3, the sith inquisitor doesn’t even have their own body anymore? changed and altered at the most fundamental levels by the mother machine. your head is not your own, you share it with the dead. your body is not your own.
how much of you has been stripped away by the sith order, forced into compromise after compromise, just to stay alive?

Vanilla(Republic). Things are mostly according to the vanilla storylines, with a few exceptions. Kho skips the Knight Chapter 2 to partner up with Aliya as he recovers from the loss of Master Orgus, and Sarrai takes his place instead, and she’s the one that ends up mind-controlled by the Emperor- Orgus wasn’t her Master, there’s no ghost to break her out. Kho and Aliya launch a rescue mission and get her out, and Kho goes on to complete Chapter 3. Aliya goes with him to fight the Emperor.
Vanilla (Empire). Xiann and Tyma split the Inquisitor storyline: Xiann goes to Tatooine and Nar Shaddaa, Tyma goes to Balmorra and Alderaan. Chapter 2 and 3 see Xiann remaining mostly on Dromund Kaas to play politics, make friends, and enable the completion of the Silencers, while Tyma does the Force-walking. Calumnia joining Intelligence around the end of Chapter 2 of the agent story changes Cipher 9′s path a little, but the large events are mostly unchanged, however Intealligence is NOT disbanded. Warrior and Bounty Hunter are almost completely unchanged.
Vanilla Revan Plot. We fuck some things up here. It’s my own Revan, who did not destroy the Star Forge, but did return to the Empire, as she’s a sort-of halfway Child of the Emperor. He doesn’t take control or order her, and she doesn’t know, she’s just mildly influenced into courses of action. The Republic breaks her out, but the Imperial team sent to the Foundry is composed of Revanites: she is not killed, and the Foundry is transferred to “Imperial” hands before vanishing and getting covered up by Revanites. She begins plotting the downfall of both Sith and Jedi from the shadows.
Makeb. Not really any story changes here. Wrath (Mythra) handles it on Imp side, Aliya does the Republic side.
Rise of the Revanites. We go straight from Makeb into the assaults on Korriban and Tython: Arkous claims there’s no better way to field test new Imperial Isotope-5 technology than on the Jedi homeworld. It raises suspicions on both sides, and Calumnia, leading Intelligence to quietly investigate Arkous. Arkous is discovered to be a traitor and part of an unknown cult, and Calumnia requests the Wrath secretly take him out, which she does. Tyma, now Darth Umbris, takes his spot on the Council.
Rogue Sith. Fearing the discovery of her Revanites, Revan influences Malgus enough and he chooses to create a schism, starting the First Imperial Civil War. Investigations into Arkous’ benefactor (as he does not share Revan’s name in this timeline, and Revan doesn’t announce herself or bomb the Temple at Rakata) are halted as Malgus takes priority. Revan also organizes the release of the Dread Masters as another diversionary tactic, stalling for more time for the Star Forge and Foundry to continue to build her military’s strength.
Revan’s Reveal. With Intelligence still intact, Beniko’s operation on Rishi is supported by Intelligence itself, with multiple Ciphers playing their part... having been briefed ahead of time so they could play their part knowingly. Theron Shan is there as well as the Voidhound. Lana Beniko still betrays Theron, but this enrages Darth Calumnia, and Beniko is banned from working within or with Intelligence once the mission on Rishi is over. The Battle over Rishi still happens, but it’s not meant to be some massive battle where the Republic and Imperial fleets are taken out in one blow. It’s meant instead to announce Revan’s presence, and then lead the Republic and Empire to Yavin.
Yavin. Yavin is a nightmare: this is not a campaign finished in a few weeks. Revanites are dug in, and the jungle prevents effective use of tanks, artillery, and air support. Yavin is a meat grinder with the Republic and Empire paying for every foot they gain in blood and death. Revan’s intent is not to win, but to bog down, wear out, and demoralize her opponents’ forces. The Yavin campaign lasts 11 months, and at the end, with the Republic and Empire having finally made it to the Temple’s gates and believing victory is in sight, Revan plays her final card. The Temple is a trap, loaded with explosives, and the explosion causes massive casualties for the Republic and Empire.
Revan’s War. As the Empire and Republic reel from their loss on Yavin, Revan launches new assaults on key locations all over the galaxy, including the Kuat Drive Yards, Balmorra, and the Tytun Rings. Zakuul’s skytroopers and Eternal Fleets are replaced by the Star Forge and Foundry’s near limitless production of droids and starships. There is no Zakuul, just the Rakatan space stations and Revan. As the Republic and Empire begin to regroup, Revan glasses Ziost. Most of the population perishes, including Darth Cordatus (Xiann).
Imperial Schism. Darth Calumnia and Darth Moirai plan secret peace talks with the Republic, believing that war with the Jedi was foolish with Revan seeking to wipe out both orders. Their peace talks are leaked, and Revanites and Sith Traditionalists alike whip the Empire into a frenzy of controversy, turning into the Second Imperial Civil War. Darth Umbris claims leadership of one faction, outwardly appearing a rational leader who wants to focus on Revan and end the Civil War, but secretly encourages it to intensify.
Betrayal of the Forsworn. Calumnia is unwilling to fight in a civil war as Revan (who killed her little sister) continues to expand her holdings and collect more and more victories, and deserts the Empire, signing a mutual defense treaty with the Rift Alliance, and thus forcing the Republic to accept her faction as an ally. Most of Imperial Intelligence and a large number of Cordatus’s followers join Calumnia, including the Lord Wrath, who has been disillusioned by her wife’s increasing bloodthirsty behavior (Darth Umbris) and decided to dissolve their marriage.
A Losing Battle. The Republic stands alone against Revan as the Empre consumes itself. The Forsworn find a home on Tython after a reluctant Jedi Council allows them to make their home in the ruins of Kaleth. They contribute massively to intelligence efforts, and organize small strike teams to make quick hit and run attacks to attempt to bog down Revan’s advances. It becomes clear, however, that Revan is winning this war, and Calumnia works with Jedi Archivists to study Revan and her history in an attempt to discover a weakness they can use.
and that’s all i have, folks

Three months after the assault on Tython and the retaking of Korriban, Darth Arkous’s chair on the Dark Council was suddenly taken up by Darth Umbris, who had been given her name after she led the initial strike team to Korriban where she tore through every Jedi and Republic trooper in her way.
Umbris suited her: the Lord of Rage.
And Darth Arkous’ death went overlooked. More important was the new power bloc on the Council: Darth Mortis, Darth Calumnia, Darth Cordatus, Darth Marr, and now Umbris. Umbris’s marriage to Darth Imperata, the Lord Wrath, ensured Darth Vowrawn was also a new member of their alliance.
Some reasoned that Mortis or Calumnia had engineered his death, or at least an opportunity for Umbris to take her vengeance. After all, it was under Arkous’s military leadership that Cordatus had been wounded and taken captive by the Republic.
No one expected Umbris to actually lead the Sphere of Military Offense, but she surprised everyone by taking to the job like a terentatek to a Sith tomb. New conjecture posited that she had wanted the job and killing Arkous had been a bonus.
Because everyone knew she had killed Arkous.
The Empire moved on: Malgus started a civil war before fleeing to Ilum, and four months later, with the Empire still embroiled in conflict on the frozen world, the Dread Masters went rogue. There were bigger concerns, after all.
So no one quite realized it had been the Barsen’thor of the Jedi Order who had put her lightsaber through Arkous’s neck. Nor did anyone realize that Umbris hadn’t even been on the same planet when he died. And most importantly, no one realized that the resurgence of the Revanites had been revealed and was now under investigation.

Reframing
Traitor faces traitor, and Tyma wants to let everything come spilling from her lips. But she’s not a fool: unless she’s in an environment she’s secured herself, she must always assume she’s being listened to.
The “General” asks her what her plans are, as she stands with lightsaber ignited before him. He’s on one knee at this point, barely holding his innards together, but something he says catches her attention.
She tilts her head. “Your stolen plans are on your cybernetics?”
It must be the way she asks the question, or some look in her eyes. Or perhaps, one traitor to another, the General recognizes something in her. “Yes,” he says, “Kill me, and the Republic can still retrieve them.”
Her jaw clenches, and she nods ever so slightly. There’s a sort of peace in his eyes as she swings her blade, careful to leave his cybernetics intact, and then she’s left alone.
So this is what victory means now.
She’s killed so many Republic troops, her own people, and now she’s deprived them of an Imperial traitor. And yet, if the Republic is clever, she’s enabled them to salvage something.
Xiann catches up to her, with a Jedi’s weapon hanging on her belt, and the twins make a break for the shuttle. The Black Talon is filled with just as much blood: nearly the entire crew is dead or severely injured.
Well. That’s something, then. For the first time, Tyma realizes just how much damage she can do to the Empire as a Sith, without anyone batting an eye. She’s not comfortable with this farce, she wants to be home in the SIS, but she has been called to a new path.
And she has no choice but to answer.

so like. the three sisters.
Darth Calumnia. The oldest. Runs Imperial Intelligence, has the unquestionable loyalty of her ciphers, as well as her new Specter agents. She’s ruthless when people threaten her or her people, but otherwise goes along to get along. Likes knowing everything and keeping other people misinformed. She would be absolutely terrifying as an Empress: she would institute reform, and she would not be kind to those who oppose her. She would work with the Republic, but she’d never pander. While she would definitely drag the Empire into the light, her methods of doing so would be unquestionably Sith-y.
Darth Cordatus. The elder twin. She’s the one that really leans into playing politics and making alliances but everyone considers her words pretty trustworthy. She’s actually the least powerful of the sisters, especially after Calumnia’s power boost as a result of Oricon. Her reign would probably be the most stable, though she’d be the least likely to work with the Republic. She’d also probably push through the least amount of reforms, since she does prefer to keep everyone happy.
Darth Umbris. The youngest. Also the most powerful of the three. Also an SIS agent. She would cosy up to the Republic in a heartbeat, and leave her sisters scrambling to handle the politics of such a decision. Her reign would likely lead to civil war, but she’d have the support of her sisters, and grudgingly, Darth Mortis and Darth Marr, especially as she’d ensure she has the Republic’s aid. The Empire would definitely be weaker, but it would be stronger in the long run, since her rule would pretty quickly get out everyone who opposed her.

one OC concept im playing with- so cordatus gets captured when the republic invades korriban. she’s not stupid, so she’s not interested in continuing to get her shit wrecked by the barsen’thor, so she’s like, yo, i’m good. get me some medical attention and i’ll go quietly.
and she’s like. a fucking dark council member so the republic is pretty gleeful about it, but she’s assigned a jedi shadow as her guard but she’s also like. “you guys want me dead far less than most of my colleagues so this is a nice little vacation”.
but her and the jedi shadow get on like. a little too well. FWB. and cordatus like. loves kids. like yeah she’s sith but when it comes to kids she’s a softie and she wants her own kids. and she’s like you know what? i think a jedi partner is less likely to backstab me in my sleep.
and she gets traded back to the empire blah blah blah but her and the shadow meet up again on yavin and like 8 months after revan’s defeated cordatus has a kid.
of course this is mostly because i think the mental image of cordatus sipping tea while her sister are like so when did this happen and cordatus effectively going “wouldn’t you like to know, weather boy”.

xiann doesn’t blink. she tilts her head. paladius’ artifact is dampening her force connection, but he’s a fool. nar shaddaa is her world. she learned how to fight and kill long before she learned how to send lighting streaking from her fingers.
breath in, breath out.
her lightsaber is in her hand. she flicks it on. she lunges. paladius parries, and she retreats before feinting to the left.
she doesn’t call on the force. paladius’ expression is growing tense. he’s on the verge of epiphany, but xiann won’t enlighten him. he pushed her older sister into the claws of the sith order.
no mercy.
she lunges again, feeling not the force, but the give and take of combat. she reads her opponent’s eyes and footwork, not the force.
he’s focused on her lightsaber. he misses her scattergun until it doesn’t miss him. take away the force: she is not a child. she is an assassin, since long before the sith imprisoned her with promises of power.
she does not monologue. she does not explain to him that she never needed the force to kill someone. she grabs tulak hord’s artifact, ignores the slimy feeling in the force surrounding it.
of course rylee and destris run the cult. the sith may not believe in one’s word, but xiann still remembers when reputation and the value of her word were the only things keeping her fed. she is not sith. she has only learned to fight like one.
she takes the force dampening artifact with her. she does not immediately return to dromund kaas. tyma goes, but xiann remains with her elder sister. intelligence does not want to lose watcher 51. korriban does not want to lose a prospective sith.
eventually korriban wins. her sister has to board a transport to the sith academy, and xiann is forced to return to darth zash. she thinks bitterly that the sith always win.
she resolves next to be the sith that wins.

You never asked, Mortis, why I chose to be loyal to you in an Empire of schemers and traitors. You, a traditionalist who opposed Darth Karrid, who disdained aliens.
You changed my mind on a great deal of things, Calumnia. You spoke your mind, I disagreed, and time proved you correct. On multiple matters.
Careful, that was nearly an admission you could be wrong.
Upstart youngling. I was wrong about Karrid. I wasn’t wrong about you, though. You’re a snake, and a threat to Sith tradition. A reformist, of all things.
Mmm. You almost sounded proud. You have changed.
