Every Time I Die - Hot Damn! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ @everytimeidie ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I’ll keep this brief and say that if you don’t already know about ETID, you really should, and if you do, I hope you agree that Hot Damn! Absolutely fucking rips front-to-back. In fact, if there was some hypothetical situation where I was stuck on a desert island and allowed exactly one Every Time I Die album, I would choose Hot Damn! every time. Truth be told, this band has never put out a bad album, and if you care at all about gritty, loud, obnoxious metal, you already know this. However, as time progressed, they’ve had access to bigger budgets and better producers and all that jazz...and the result is sometimes a little more polished and perfected than I like. Hot Damn! was a perfect blend of technical prowess and indie work ethic with just enough production value to make it into the big leagues but not so much that they sounded overproduced and destined for Hot Topic. Keith’s lyrics are crisp, clear, and ironic as ever and the guitar lines in this album damned near gave me carpal tunnel 15 years ago as I pretended I had even half of the talent required to be in a band that melts as many faces as ETID does on the regular. Please give this album a spin if you aren’t already familiar with it.
