#i’ve probably written this on my blog somewhere else before but. #onetime i wanted a cherry coca cola so so bad and also was feeling incredibly depressed #i was 15 and i have next to no money because i was fifteen but a coke only costs like a buck or two #but at the time there was tax on sodas and other sugary drinks (only in cook county though? idr why) #so it would cost more than that and i didn’t have any money #my mom and i went to walgreens but w the tax i couldn’t just buy a bottle for myself #idk why my mom didn’t buy it but there was probably a reason (like ny dad hadn’t gotten paid yet and she needed to prioritize groceries) #so i was all ready to give up hope because i was depressed and 15 #but there are like 3 vending machines outside the walmart that hadn’t been adjusted to the tax yet #and it’s the sort where you can get a can for like 2 quarters or whatever #idk what was wrong w the machine though because it gave me 14 cherry cokes and spat my money out in the change tray #and idk i was still miserable and it was hot and i still didn’t have money and it was the middle of the night so i couldn’t have caffeine #but it was exciting i was so fun #my guardian angel is in love with me. i’ve said this before but it’s true
