What is the importance of solar winds?

SolarWinds Orion platform products can integrate with ServiceNow, allowing ServiceNow to automatically open tickets based on critical incidents defined in the Orion platform software. SolarWinds' network monitoring feature allows easy capture, processing and finding a solution to an existing performance problem occurring in the local network. This integration makes it easy to create events based on alerts and executables on the Orion platform. SolarWinds Orion Platform VimChartInfo SQL Injection Remote Code Execution Vulnerability [CVE-2023-40056]

This vulnerability allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code on affected installations of SolarWinds Orion Platform. Authentication is required to exploit this vulnerability. The specific flaw exists within the VimChartInfo class. The issue results from the lack of proper validation of a user-supplied string before using it to construct SQL queries. An attacker can leverage this vulnerability to execute code in the context of SYSTEM. SolarWinds has issued an update to correct this vulnerability.
