if i had a nickel for every time a famous and influential batman story arc had both superman and jason todd playing a pivotal role, i'd have four nickels, which really isn't a lot but it is weird that it's happened four separate times over three decades

#personal #no like literally i'm not kidding #superman is in death in the family's last chapter and obviously death in the family is a big story #for both jason and bruce #in knightfall bruce is having this sort of slomo psychological breakdown where he keeps thinking of jason #(and then relives his murder under fear toxin) #and it's also heavily implied that him not dealing with the death of superman that had happened right before this #is also heavily contributing to his bad mental state and how low he's getting before bane shows up #hush of course features the first return of jason and superman is at the end of no reason at all #other than to i guess provide emotional support??? (and perform some minor surgery on bruce) #(who then takes the initiative to thank clark for being his friend which is like goddamn hush batman was doing a lot) #and then superman shows up AGAIN in under the red hood!!! #when bruce is looking for answers on whether resurrection is possible he finishes by going to clark who immediately knows something's up #it gets weird and intimate #and obviously under the red hood is Thee big jason arc #but like yeah that's literally four of the most famous batman stories that have both jason and superman as a theme #like just goddamn.
