One thing that bugs me about how some world of darkness fans is how they talk about changeling. They get upset about it not being dark enough, to which a lot of changeling fans helpfully explain that it can be just as dark as the rest of the WoD just in different ways. A sentiment I agree with but also think is incomplete. The WoD is a WORLD, a setting that is "our world but with deeper shadows" but just because the shadows are deeper doesn't mean the light suddenly doesn't exist. The real world is full of misery and horror and yet we still find joy in it, is it so hard to believe that literally every supernatural creature doesn't have to be grimdark? that there may actually be a diversity of tone within a vast a sprawling setting?
