Old English: You’re stranded on an island, who do you bring with you?

Ah fuck, these questions are always so difficult for me to answer because I overthink everything XD

Um... probably all of the PCs from both main Critical Role campaigns because then I’ll be safe thanks to the non-spell casters (or characters who aren’t primarily/solely casters) and how fucking hard they hit (thank you Grog, Percy, Vax, Vex, Trinket, Tary, Doty, Fjord, Mollymauk, Nott, Beau, and Yasha) for as long as the spell casters need in order to get everyone off the island/heal people if need be XD (thank you Scanlan, Keyleth, Pike, Cad, Caleb, and Jester)

Mint Tea: How do you relax?

I have many ways I relax! Swimming or just being in water seems to be one of my go-tos. I love the feeling after swimming where my muscles are worn out and loose, but not sore, that’s relaxing. Taking a long, hot shower/bath is another way I love to relax, and then moisturizing my skin and putting on clean, and really soft pajamas (if I really need to relax, sometimes I even throw my pajamas in the dryer for a quick cycle so they’re nice and warm). Drinking hot tea while reading a book or watching a movie/show or listening to music or ASMR is also great! I discovered weighted blankets this past December, which are also GREAT and helped me relax and decompress after work. Spending time with my dog and petting her is another go-to way for me to relax. OH, and another thing that’s super relaxing to me is playing with hair, either my own or someone else’s (with permission, of course). Like, combing my fingers through it, twirling a lock or two. And the same goes for someone else playing with my hair, that’s so relaxing.

I suppose I relax through a combination of physical activity, tactile sensations including but not limited to texture, temperature, and weight/pressure, and audio! I guess that’s the best way to describe how I relax??? I’m so sorry it isn’t just one thing, I feel like nearly everything about me is quite circumstantial, so there’s very rarely a simple answer askjfhsd

i”M SORRY, I’M KIDDING, YES I LOVE TO READ! Um... as for my favorite book/story... It changes constantly XD

I’m VERY bad at picking favorites, but some books/series that I continue to come back and read are “Eon” and “Eona” by Alison Goodman, of course the Harry Potter series (PoA or OotP is probably my fave of the series), “Mistress of the Art of Death” by Diana Norman, the “Arc of a Scythe” series by Neal Shusterman, “Fire Bringer” and “The Sight” by David Clement-Davies, the Warrior Cats series by Erin Hunter (I’d say either “Long Shadows” or “Sunrise” from the 3rd arc is my favorite bc I fucking LOVE Hollyleaf, and I love her fall from grace throughout these two books), “Out of the Silent Planet” by C.S. Lewis (which is the first book of a sci-fi trilogy!), most of Shakespeare’s writing is up there as well, aND THEN EDGAR MOTHERFUCKING ALLEN POE IS MY BOY, I READ “THE CASK OF AMONTILLADO” IN LIKE 5TH OR 6TH GRADE AND HAVE NOT LOOKED BACK SINCE

Orange juice: Have you ever had a Valentine?

Not that I know of, remember, or realize was a romantic Valentine, haha. I was/appeared so stand-offish throughout all my schooling years (for many reasons, but that’s an explanation for a different day/ask) that even if someone had liked me or had a crush on me or just wanted to send me a Valentine, I doubt they would have 1) thought that I might have liked them back, or 2) believed that I would like a Valentine. And I’ve only been out of school for one year so far, and I was still pretty stand-offish for most of it, I’ve only recently been starting to try letting down my facade, so maybe I will get/have a Valentine next year!

Herbal Tea: You’re at a candle shop, what scented candle do you buy?

I love scents like clean cotton, mint, crisp autumn apple, almond blossom, rose, vanilla, lilac, lavender, citrus, raspberry, blackberry. So I guess I would buy a candle that smells relatively floral with a hint of vanilla/almond, and some kind of fruit. So sweet and flowery but hopefully pretty light, nothing overpowering!

...Or just a straight up clean cotton candle, I do not know why but that scent is fucking gREAT to me.

Vanilla Chai Latte: Are you in love?

I thought about my answer to this one for a while (SHOCKER). Like I said in the Valentine answer, I’ve been very stand-offish and emotionally unavailable for most of my life, hence me never dating anyone or having an SO. It’s only very recently that I feel as though I’m really ready to admit to myself that it’s okay for me to want things/be interested/show interest in other people and that it’s okay to feel emotions and even to be vulnerable to people I trust. And for me, being “in love” is much more than having a crush. Being “in love” is a much deeper emotion/experience that I’m not sure I’ve ever experienced due to how scared I was of being hurt/rejected by others if I made myself vulnerable, which to me is a very important part about being “in love.” I never trusted people enough to let them get close to me, and therefore, I have never felt close enough to someone to consider it me being “in love.” At most, I would say I’ve been attracted to someone, or infatuated with someone.

And of course, there are many kinds of love, from familial to platonic to romantic, etc. I love all of my friends and family, dearly, but even to them, I have rarely been vulnerable. If I couldn’t even trust them enough to be vulnerable around them - the people we as humans are supposed to trust the most - how was I supposed to trust anyone enough to be “in love” with them? I have had many crushes, both on celebrities and friends, some of which I still have, some of which I don’t, some of which have developed recently. But I’ve never let those feelings show because those feelings make me vulnerable. I never trusted people enough to let them be truly close to me...

So.

Am I “in love” currently? No. I don’t believe so. However, I think I’m finally emotionally ready to trust people and be a little more vulnerable to those I might have crushes on, or even just people I want to become better friends with. So... maybe soon I will be in love. And maybe soon someone will be in love with me, too ^_^
