When I was a kid about 8 or 9 my older brother used to make us kites out of wire hangers, the plastic from dry cleaning bag and regular sewing string. I would get super frustrated because I was never able to get that thing in the air while his would be flying high in the #Hyattsville parking lot (to add to that, this girl who I had a crush on was hanging out with me until she saw my kite situation wasn’t happening and she went to hang out with my brother but that’s a story for another time...). This week I corrected that experience with my kids by showing my kids how to fly a kite.
