hey guys remember mike and will were standing right in the middle in between two canon couples in the final shot, noah said the duffers put them there for a reason and it could be foreshadowing AND they knew exactly what they were doing when they decided to finally introduce the will being in love with mike storyline in season 4 and confirming it was planned from the start. all of this could’ve been easily avoided if they had no intention of making byler canon, but they didn’t do that. they chose to do this knowing how popular byler is and how people would react to it, and after everything will has been through and how they purposefully made the audience feel sorry for him this season, the backlash would be off the charts if his love is unrequited. there’s no way they would do something so cruel and unnecessary to an abused and traumatised gay character and they wouldn’t ruin their own show by having such awful and inconsistent writing. byler is the only thing that makes sense narratively at this point and it would be the best outcome for all the characters involved
