Boroughsburg Morning.
Knowing him, it's 6am and he's coming home from an all-nighter - lol!
I finally got around to installing this world. My god, it runs so smoothly. Took me a while to find the inhabitable lots, but this lovely brownstone was perfect. I've spent a couple of hours furnishing it, so the next post will include some interiors.
Edit: I just caught him practising charisma in the mirror, and managed to freeze the camera at the perfect moment. Yep, that's definitely the face you'd pull after an all-night bender xD

Guess who's just bought himself a nice little island escape. A private little villa, away from the pressures of fame.

You KNEW this had to happen, right? Because the minute I’d managed to recreate Valois in Second Life, it was inevitable that rocker!Valois wouldn’t be far behind ;)
Let me tell you, it wasn’t easy. Obviously I couldn’t use the same tattoos that he has in TS3, and the beard isn’t quite right (I looked everywhere for a chinstrap beard but couldn’t find one, so the one I ended up with was the next best thing).
But I think he turned out pretty nicely!

And--because I had him in this save as a focal point for my other Sims to look at while posing--have a couple of new rocker!Valois pics, too :)

"The bookseller was created for Gunther alone, so I ditched him as soon as he was no longer of use. But the rock star..."
*wistful smile*
"Ah, I was very fond of the rock star. In truth, I might almost wish I could have lived my life fully as him, so human and true as he was. Surrounded by friends who adored him, and living his life to the fullest. But after Gunther left, I was at a low ebb. Lower than I had ever been before in my life. I had enjoyed playing the rock star, manipulating and warping time so that I could record, rehearse, tour..."
*sigh*
"But I could not handle being him after I lost Gunther, so... I killed him off. Oh, I regret it now. Mostly I regret what it did to Cal and Ten. They had each other, and always will do, but the grief of finding their best friend dead of an accidental overdose... it damn near killed the pair of them. Ten went off the rails, so I read in the newspapers, and though Cal reined him in and kept him sane he fell into a deep depression himself. I still keep an eye out for news of them, and I know that they're still recording, both solo and together."
*soft smile*
"I buy all of their music. It feels good to hear their voices again whenever I feel particularly low."
(From my early notes. I did consider making this canon for the story, but decided against it. The “killing off” is Valois referring to this AU story. The rocker is going to be something entirely different that may come as a surprise when I [eventually] get to that reveal. Thought I’d share it anyway as something of possible interest to some, because this blog has been in a Sims 3 drought of late.)

Sorry I’ve been so quiet of late. I took some time away from simming and my general Sims accounts after what happened (see this post if you’re wondering what the hell did happen). And then - when I was ready to come back - I got pretty sick, so that put everything on the back-burner yet again.
But I’m back now (I think), and enjoying the new menswear that I’ve found at @simtanico‘s blog. The older version of rocker!Valois scrubs up nicely in this suit from there.
And yes, I realised after I’d done the entire photoshoot that his tattoos had somehow come off, so the first image in this series is the last one I took after re-adding them. So he really did scrub up for this one!
But he’s still an adorable little doofus, underneath all that blue steel posing ;)

And because it’s not an older!rocker!Valois photoshoot without the obligatory black and white shots, here ya go.
