over time elly feels more comfortable and safe around mira and starts to get her attention by tapping on mira's shoulder or tugging on her sleeve, to eventually holding hands and accepting hugs 😌

It's blorbsday. If your ocs are participating in a group project, how helpful are they? Who takes charge? Who does the bulk of the work, who has ideas, who shirks, etc.?

I'll answer this with Elly and co in mind.

Truly, it would depend on the project, but I think generally the one who'd take charge is Mira because she's an overachiever and perfectionist (especially if we're talking about school). She would take on as much work as she can so she'd have more control and influence over the final grade—if the marks are shared.

Elly is the most creative so she'd probably have the most ideas. She often thinks outside of the box in ways that most people around her don't consider because they follow the norm.

Not much is designated to Remy because Mira doesn't trust him to do a good job on any part of the project so he's just there to feed them, drive them around, or be used as a prop if necessary.

cool thing about baby mira and little remy being in RS1 is there's potential for a cross-generational reunion in RS2 (assuming I don't kill everyone in the hypothetical rewrite hahaha) which I think would be neat

anyone who's paid close attention knows I cringe at the term "face claim" (it sounds creepy) and I really prefer not using them because they ruin the faces my brain manufactures in my head for my characters

HOWEVER

I will say that in my mind, garrin looks like Hu Ge and I want everyone to know this 😌

man I don't talk enough about mira and ashley to the point where even I "forget" that mira has friends outside of elles and remy 💀

wrt RS specifically mira helps ash fund her shelter and ash teaches mira so much about the world and the culture her birth parents come from. no they're not like ~besties~ per say but they actually have a strong relationship, like I would say ash is sort of a big sister figure to mira. and ash knows mira in a way that nobody else does even though she doesn't acknowledge it and they never talk about it

and in some ways I think mira takes ash for granted. or she just doesn't realize how integral ash is to her emotional well being

so you know how elara in rs1 sews pockets into her dress. do you think kessaly teased/reminded her of this years later when elly started putting bugs and little creatures in her pockets?

Yes! And don't forget—Elara used to climb trees and garden walls as a kid (she mentions this in one scene at Shinescribes), before she was disciplined for this behaviour. I think she might've handled bugs and creatures at some point too, even though that's never been written (although there was that one old short story ft. young Elara and Cora finding a frog).

Mira likes to tease people and see them get flustered but she herself can't handle it when people turn the situation around

She'll be admiring Orla's motorcycle and then jokingly says, "Well, aren't you going to take me for a ride, handsome?" and Orla will get up and say with a suggestive grin, "On my bike, or... were you thinking of something else?"

Mira would be rendered speechless trying to supress her laughter and look away from embarrassment before breaking it to Orla that she truly means, "On your bike." because Mira is so dumb she thinks nobody will actually take her flirtations seriously, and when they do she has to reject them if she's not interested (maybe she subconsciously thrives off the power she gets from denying them... she herself is very sensitive to rejection and has personal issues with abandonment and emotional neglect)

I like the will-they-won't-they dynamic between these two, like they can flirt openly with each other and not actually address whether they feel genuine attraction towards each other. and it's fun getting to develop their relationship (and Orla) more than what I was able to do in Original RS

anyway I find them interesting so I'm gonna put them in a Petri dish and observe

tbh it's about the story and dynamics you wanna tell and sometimes writing is about playing around with stuff we find interesting/scary/gross instead of stuff we like irl

(that being said mira/juan is like my guilty pleasure ship, my occasional snort of cocaine, my go-to when I want to feel conflicted and sometimes that's what we need!)

the ERM dynamics are even more amazing when you realize that Elly's mom was friends with Remy's mom and Elly's dad was friends with Mira's dad, and Kess and Al were banter / drinking buddies who shared their appreciation for women the same way that Remy and Mira do 🥹

from a non-wip ft. Adreis, Alia, and Illarion

basically it's from a scraps document and I really wanted to revisit these characters for a little bit and try out a certain narrative tone

and so for thirteen days they travelled in the robes of the Spectre Guild and were for the most part left alone. They adopted false names and spoke very little in the company of others (when occasionally they stopped for food and shelter at an inn, or at a shop to purchase supplies for their journey — the latter of which was highly unusual behaviour for Guild members as they had [runners] to collect for them, but fortunately most people were not aware of the customs and generally avoided Spectres.

They adopted their new names out of their current names, as a reminder to themselves that no matter who they needed to become, they must not forget who they once were. Alia tossed around the letters in "Alessendra" and became Eras Andsel; Illarion followed suit and became Ilia Lorn. Adreis Ombrelore took the name Ardelis, as in Ardelis Beremoor, for she liked "Beremoor" because it sounded to her like "bearmore" and that reminded her of Cattlemore (though unlike cattle she did not wish to come across any bears).
