What happened with sabby??

a man who literally looks like the chef from ratatouille (20, I believe) was dating/had a flirty thing going with rodrigo (17) and said he’d wait for her to be legal age, but then changed his mind and decided to date sabrina carpenter (21) and olivia wrote a song about her heartbreak because she still loved him. she didn’t specifically mention sabrina but lines like “that blonde girl who always made me doubt”, “she’s so much older than me” and “everything I’m insecure about” as well as pictures of sabrina and joshua seen out on various dates surfacing led to fans making that connection.

so, sabrina started getting a fuck ton of hate, she was being called things like a home wrecker and a whore, she was getting death threats, I read something about her being yelled at in the street, and chased back to her car when she went out on a date with joshua, people taking pictures of them inside their car, just really awful stuff.

so, sabrina released a song last night called ‘skin’, and of course, olivia rodrigo fans have taken that as sabrina being petty and nasty to her, when the song clearly states how sabrina is validating olivia’s feelings, wishes they could have been friends, and hopes that one day they will be friends and that they’ll look back on it and laugh. the song is clearly aimed at all the people who are sending her hate, but a lot of olivia rodrigo stans are sending her even more hate for being ‘a grown woman going after a minor’.

neither of these women are villains, olivia should have known that those connections were going to be made and that there would always be some kind of retaliation, and that she should have been prepared for that. ‘drivers license’ is a beautiful song about heartbreak and olivia deserves to be heard, especially when joshua strung her along and just dropped her. sabrina was only telling her side of the story, she descends to her heard as well, and ‘skin’ is simply sabrina defending herself when she’s been attacked for a mans actions. it is not sabrinas fault that joshua is a bad guy.

basically, both women are pretty and talented and should just drop joshua because he’s the most basic man I’ve ever seen. whatever their story is, neither women deserve hate.
