oh my god anon. there's SO MANY incredible people in this fandom so listing them all is an impossibility (and tbh lots of great blogs are also archives cause the show aired a While ago ksajdhfk). plus i am kind of new to the show (one year compared to some people who've been here since 2014). however, i am kind of honored that you came to me for this, so i'll try my best to give you an overview of some of the people i follow here :)

do u mind sharing what u use to make ur amvs? like what platform? thank you either way :)

not at all!! i use davinci resolve, it's a professional software with a ton of different functions (90% of which i haven't even tried out yet lmao), but the basic ones are really intuitive and easy to navigate. oh and it's FREE :D

im so sorry but i 🤢 at that artist who drew the flinthamilton art u reblogged, all their art is like aged down twink versions of thomas and flint and nothing of any of the other characters in the show ever its so. like. they are not watching the same show as me. ://

idk what to tell you anon. does the art properly represent the characters and their ages? no. can i still appreciate the craft and find it beautiful? i think so. i understand your aversion to this trend (aging down older male characters, especially when they're gay or depicting only gay male relationships cause you have a *fixation* (ekhem. a fetish or something)), but idk. this isn't something that's prevalent in this fandom and i just liked that piece and the art style djdjdnjdjd

Today's moment of black sails that is tearing my soul into pieces is that quiet moment in s2 when they’re taking Abigail back in the Spanish warship and Miranda laments over the years passed and how she no longer recognizes herself and then James says "I recognize you"

a piece of thought re: flint's earring– while he didn't have it in the gay ear, it still indicates that he knows which one is the gay ear so he purposefully didn't have the stud there to throw them all off, which is still pretty gay of him i think <3

flint is a MASTER at obscuring his queerness behind a façade of violent and hegemonic masculinity so that the outside world only sees him as this ruthless manly pirate captain. just like miranda put it, he's very good at managing how he's perceived but also at getting what he wants without people noticing. so i think that he also very ambiguously lets some stuff show to keep in touch with his own identity that he genuinely likes? like when he gives this speech in 3x01 and says 'to beg forgiveness from the thing that took my woman from me' and then much quieter adds 'my friend'. keeping up appearances for the sake of his men but also including the nuance of the truth for the sake of his own comfort. so yeah he absolutely chose the other ear to have the gay earring in
