Hey, Anon! Oh, thanks a lot for asking, this is gonna be a mess but anyway, also, sorry for taking so long. (I think I write a lot, so, I'll add the "read more" thing)

So, some basics about the background of my V, Valery Rodriguez: she grew up in Santo Domingo, used to like SAMURAI a lot and be this type of anti system girl that went to protests and stuff, but due to very poor decisions and mistakes she was forced to work for some Arasaka suit to spy around the neighborhood, for this and the Arasaka suit seeing she was quite a sneaky, quick thinking person, he offered her a work on Arasaka, or he will tell about her work as a mole, which will get her killed so she accepted (and that was hell, of course)

About her years as a Corpo, well, she had to work and suffer a lot for people at Arasaka to let a street kid be in peace in that kind of place, and she sacrificed a lot to actually make it. (Betray her friends, forget her ideals, became very isolated, among other stuff) So she was beyond lost and pissed off when after everything she did, she was so easily disposed by them.

Also, for this kind of thing she gets along so easily with Goro, she thinks that only very few people understand why someone goes from that point A (the street background) to point B (basically selling soul to a corp) so quickly.

And about her relationship with Johnny, it's a lot about V going back to who she used to be and a person she missed a lot to be, and being herself again, thanks to him in some way.

I, too, have this divided part of her story in which she either chooses Goro or Johnny, whether she learned a lesson or not through all this story of hers.

Goro's path will lead her to not forgive Johnny at the Oil Fields and accept Hanako's offer.

Johnny's path will lead her to the (Don't Fear) The Reaper ending and dying in the raid, but being happy cause her ultimate fear of dying alone (cause, loneliness was a heavy subject for her) didn't'come true, since Johnny was with her. (Also, they get together in the afterlife, so... happy ending?)

And well, that's kind of some basics cause I could write for hours about her.

Oh, and some extra stuff: she had very poor visual health, so, one of the first things she did once she got money from Arasaka was get a good eye operation and once she was at it, she went from her natural brown eyes to purple ones.

And Johnny likes the fact that in spite of V not having liked her brown eyes, in the sun they still turn to a kind of brown, and he likes to see her eyes like that. (This last bit actually happens in-game, in some photos her eyes actually look brown in some lights and I adore it)
