misc dak-wai lore they're fascinated by animals but animals tend to be wary of them, which always makes them kind of depressed. after the moonrise tower steelclaw incident they stopped trying to approach stray critters and instead stare mournfully at them from a distance. halsin's like i can go over and talk to that cat and see if it wants to be pet? and dak-wai (clearly really wants to pet the cat) says no... i can't.... and doesn't elaborate because halsin was not present and they don't want him to know. they genuinely feel almost as guilty for killing that cat as they feel about isobel's death.
