a while ago, I had been joking around with a friend about the idea of a shonen hero who's like all about the power of friendship and draws strength from their friend group, but their friend group is made up of minor antagonists, and now that I've watched it, I've realized the show I was looking for was mob psycho. That's literally just what mob's friend group is like.

#mp100 #with the exception of reigen and his friends from school #but like. all his esper friends? all of them were at some point antagonists or at least fucked up in some way #teru? literally strangled mob to the point of unconsciousness in their first encounter. now admires him more than anyone. #shou? the son of a supervillain. caused problems on purpose for mob in season one. now just a fortnite kid. #ritsu? corruption arc. the consequences of giving an angsty gifted kid psychic powers (turning evil). #is now no longer being evil but is still kinda fucked up and very willing to use violence #even the finale antagonists from season one are allies in season two! #even dimple! the first person we see mob go 100% on! fucked up evil spirit! eventually becomes friends with mob and protects him! #of course now. well. things are a little fucked #i havent read the manga so no spoilers #but mob doesnt seem to believe that dimple was just using him this whole time and i agree #i think dimple is just refusing to acknowledge that he has come to care for the kid #anyway that's besides the point #the point is that shonen protag with a friend group of villains is really funny and im so glad it exists through mp100
