🤡 What’s a line, scene, or exchange you’ve written that made you laugh?

A lot! A lot of the time writing is providing entertainment for myself, and I often make myself laugh tbh! But I have no clue if anyone else finds it funny, mostly bc what feedback I get on things being funny often differ from what I laugh at 🥴 the one I can point to (and will again later in this post) is the goat-wrestling scene in always be this close. I also think all the banter in Morning Routines is funny. There's a shit ton of fun stuff in my wips, but I'm coming back to those.

(unrelated, I just discovered I've on two different occasions, months apart, written the exact same line of dialogue, which is Alberto saying "stop complaining and put your dick in my mouth". The more you know)

ouhhhhh uhhhhhh I think I'd say dialogue is one of my strong suits... I think? It's what drives most of my writing, and, while I feel like I'm always making the boys more and more OOC with every iteration, I guess that's one of the things that makes people find my fics in character. Maybe??? I dunno??? (honestly this is the worst kind of question bc for all I know I'm WAY off base). When I first am able to suppress my shame, I think the porn I write is fun and hot (but, y'know, it's 100% self-indulgent and to my tastes since it's a drop in the ocean from my personal spank bank, so again, nervous to state it for a fact)

given how I've rotated these blorbos so relentlessly in an endless drier for 14 months, there are sooooo many, and very few that are fixed in stone tbh. I more go through phases with headcanons, tbh! and I'm getting sleepy, maybe I'll come back and do a separate post if I remember anything special 😴

I can share that one of my current headcanon obsessions is Alberto in a skin tight short tennis dress though. I have this one in mind, bc that was the one that inspired it when a friend of a friend borrowed it to wear and he's a short'n'stout king who's dummy thicc and looked absolutely incredible wearing it. Hopefully I might draw and at some point post ... maybe in a sketch dump along with the two-three other pieces that are just "Alberto on his knees, thighs spread, soft lil tummy out, in cute outfits" hehe

🎢 Which of your fics would you call your wildest ride?

I think always be this close with the Alberto almost getting himself severely damaged in a goat-wrestling match is the wildest. The rest of my fics are either just shameless porn or shameless fluff or writing-for-writing-practice's sake - I rarely write any plots or scenes that get wild. Honestly babe my wildest rides are still wips 😭 and I can't decide on just one so this is almost a ranking

#1 is probably the "discovering Luca's dick glows under the blacklight when they're getting nasty in a club bathroom" which also includes Alberto joking about Luca being into scat (or maybe it's on the cutting room floor) and jokes about dolphins being depraved creatures and Luca's dick trying to fuck Alberto's ear and Luca having a laughing fit over Alberto looking like he's playing a flute while sucking his dick and Luca delighted to discover Alberto likes having his mouth stuffed with his tail. this fic is honestly like 80% done and has been for almost a year, I'm just eternally struggling but I did my once-every-four-month casual perusing and re-discovered that it's a lot of fun and I wanna finish it

the also-80%-done "Luca tries casting himself in a porn" fic. It got away from me and now includes smut and is, oops, 12k. It's not as overtly wild, but I think it's funny, I think it'll be finished soon-ish, and I hope y'all will find it funny, too. If nothing else, laugh at me pls<3

the one doc just titled "train wrecks" which is 3am, Luca in the club spotting Alberto and going

Luca pretends he's so blackout drunk he's forgotten where he lives so Alberto will take him home, and the rest honestly is just the dumbest banter. Highlights include likening Alberto's dick to a Christmas present, joking about Luca time travelling to groom Alberto to give him even more daddy issues, Alberto calling Luca a bird furry for leaving old food bits in his mouth during makeouts, and a lot more that'd take too much context to explain. but besides being a lot of dumb funny shit what I like about it is exploring the kind of surprising honesty and delightful rudeness you get with complete strangers. I think my fav moment is them small talking to get to know each other more, Luca talks some about his mom being overbearing and a pain in the ass, then when Alberto talks about his parental situation Luca just goes "fuck you, you can’t let me complain about all that stupid shit and then tell me that" and, after Alberto tells details about his dad and Luca offers sympathies, Alberto in return goes "no, fuck you, that sympathy is for your own bad conscience, not me". This one is a lot less finished, due to being mostly dialogue, and needing three sex scenes (and counting maybe???) written out lmao

Yeah, I agree! I struggle seeing their relationship working without a lot of working through their codependency. Best case post-canon timeline they manage to mostly sort it out by being apart 3/4 of the year and build independent lives on their own, worst case… well that's what I'm writing isn't it 😂

I also conveniently skip ahead of most the conflict in most my writing, or just skirt around it. Let's see if I can pull it off here - I'm not entirely sure. I can write around the conflict, but I struggle getting into the gritty parts of it. I can conceptualize what their issues are, but can't figure out how to actually write them, y'know?

(Part of that is probably 1) me being v conflict shy in general and 2) not having been in a friendship/relationship where we've actually worked things out. I've had so many friendships just end bc I'm not mature enough to talk about our issues, most of which stem from me becoming codependent on friends in 0.1 seconds, so my reasoning is just "it's a me problem, and I can't/won't do anything about it" 🤷‍

My most functional friendships are ones where I have gotten frustrated with (insert issues that mostly are just me being codependent) to the point I emotionally cut them off - meaning, to some extent I care for them, I enjoy being with them, I will help them out w things, but I won't go out of my way to do so and tbh would be okay without them. I think that's just what I need to do to avoid becoming codependent, because I fall into that wayyy too easily lol. Tbt my doctor giving me sleep meds 'cause I was keeping myself up at night anxiously obsessing over a friendship I thought was ending, which turned out to just be them being busy for a period. I have the emotional maturity of a 14 year old, lmao.) 

Also most of the time, even when I am writing them having issues, I just don't wanna do them too dirty. I think I have only one actual argument scene written out, and that's probably staying buried in the graveyard of my docs (bc it's part of a bigger wip that I've "worked on" for an entire year minus two weeks and am just not making headway on). I prefer skirting around it by trying to write everything around their issues, I think.

This turned into navel gazing but tbh that's what most my writing is - finding words through fiction to figure myself out. That, or absolute bullshit just for fun :D

Oh god I just realized I miscounted. It’s 3.5. I wanted it to be 4.5, but I don’t have enough material. Sorry lol. It’s a little up to interpretation though - 3.5 years until they start having productive conversations that lead to getting back together, 4 until they actually do get back together.

They have several attempts at talking before then, but things don’t work out. The structure of it all is centered around Luca coming back to Portorosso to visit his family in the summers, and every year in some form running into Alberto. The first summer it’s still too raw for both. The second summer they have a chat that goes friendly enough, and they’re genuinely happy to see each other, but it’s still too awkward and painful for anything more. The third they have enough distance to laugh a little about it, and actually connect a little as friends. Over the next year they write, and end up deciding to give it another shot the fourth summer.

I think they need at least 3-4 years because it takes time to both heal and develop enough that they both think trying again 1) is plausible and 2) won’t majorly fuck them over emotionally again. And those things happen individually for them, so even when they re-meet time and time again, they are never fully in the same place and on the same wavelength. There isn’t really any logic to that amount of time specifically though, just felt like enough (although like I said, I wanted it to be another year).

Also, Luca is what, 18, maybe 19, when they first break up. I know for me the change from 18 to 22-23 was huge. (Tbh I want them to be closer to 25 when they get back together but like I said - not enough material. But that’s nitpicky logic reserved for my brain. I can just say they’re 24-25 when they get back together, and y’all will just have to deal with it 😂 Luca....... failed his exams and had to do a year over, or... he took a year off uni to work, backpack, visit uncle Ugo, live lavishly with a sugar daddy in Greece, or the good ol’ moving back with your parents ‘cause you’re too depressed to function. I dunno. My plot holes are yours to do with as you please.)

I think the summary is just - they both need to fully accept the breakup before anything productive happens. They both definitely go in repeating spirals of hoping/thinking they can work out again and trying to get over each other, but in the end they both have to land on “I want this, but I don’t need this” to get to a stable and healthy place. Honestly I still haven’t landed on what they decide re: who moves where! I think it’ll end ambiguously with them doing long distance and just so, so grateful for what time they get together, because of the time apart.

Hi, I am so confused! What is the sandbox au?

Sandbox AU is the dumbest thing ever and I love it more than anything <3 uuuuh iiiiit's soooomething mostly me, @annie-mantic and @lambdraws are playing around with! It’s mostly just for fun and shits and giggles but maybe it might become something one day?? It started as "it's winter and life is miserable I wanna write completely mindless dumb teenager oneshots" thing and has grown like 20 times in size the past week and my life is ALL sand now. (the sandbox is just what we're calling it, that we're playing in the sandbox lmao, there's no logical reason as to why it's called that)

As of now it's just a series of loose scenes in vaguely chronological order and like 20k of chatlogs of bouncing ideas and nothing's really fully decided, but the basis of it is - modern day human!AU in which Luca goes to Portorosso on vacation without parents for the first time fully intent on having a hot girl summer, has a one night stand with Alberto, and they somehow stumble into a long distance relationship, but secretly it's about the weird family constellation of moms around them (Giulia’s moms are Luca’s godmothers and Massimo gets a GF and we love her more than anything)

sometimes an idea starts off with something small and dumb as “modern day luberto tries sexting but luca screams in frustration bc alberto only uses those damn cat emojis” and a week later there is nothing but sand in your brain

I feel weird talking about it when it’s just a fun playing around thing as of yet - there’s only two rules in the sandbox, 1) no angst and 2) no pressure just having fun. it’s not like an Official Project and maybe it’ll just fade and be fondly remembered as a fun winter fad? Or it might become Something, we’ll see! Maaaan of course you ask for the fic that's been seeing the least progress. There are some super cute parts, but they are The Most Pivotal parts so I'm reluctant to share them. My fav, and the first thing I wrote that kicked off the whole thing, is Alberto's toast to Luca, which ends with Luca crying and Alberto trying to eat his notes to hide the evidence.

But here's a cute lil thing. It's apparently an Italian tradition that the groom serenade the bride from outside her home, so:

He’s woken up the same way Alberto wakes him up on all special occasions - with soft lips nuzzling against his jaw, making him chirp in surprise, with Alberto asking him what day it is and him playing oblivious until he’s being tickled and kissed breathless. All for that short moment before Alberto tells him, when he just looks at him, too sleepy and fond for any pretense to cover up the warmth in his eyes. “Like I’d ever forget,” he smiles back, just as fondly. Today though, after handing him a cup of coffee and a cornetto from their favorite bakery, Alberto doesn’t crawl back into bed to feed him, he gives him a quick kiss and asks him to wait before leaving the room. Luca cradles the mug, letting the steam warm his face. He peers curiously over the rim when Alberto returns, old banged up guitar in hand. He settles on the edge of their bed, hoisting the guitar onto his lap. “What’s all this then?” “Since we’re already breaking traditions and living in sin, I can’t be Romeo calling for his lover on the balcony.” Luca snorts, making him pout. “I swear, if you don’t let me be romantic on our wedding day-” “I’m sorry! I’m not laughing at you. Just. If we’re going for fictional comparisons, I prefer Rapunzel.” He smiles at Alberto’s eyebrows scrunching together in confusion, and reaches up to tuck a long, stray curl behind his ear. “A princess with beautiful, golden hair, rescued from her tower by a handsome prince…” His face contorts and Luca’s thumb swipes across his cheek. “Don’t cry, we have our happily ever after,” he whispers, worried his voice will crack. He puts the guitar down and Luca barely has time to set his mug on the nightstand before Alberto flops onto his chest, curls tickling his nose as he burrows into his neck. “Why can you say disgusting things when I can’t?” Luca hums and strokes his back. “Because you’re a very nice boyfriend who doesn’t cut me off the way I do you.”

HEHE 👀 that one has the potential to be really fun, I just haven't found all the scenes for it! Problem is it's based completely around Italian swears I researched, like the plot relies on some of them that don’t work in English, so it's got something like 50 annotations with translations in only 2300 words. Making it frustratingly impossible to read currently LOL. I blame my stayed-up-all-night-writing brain. Haven’t solved the logistical problem of how to make it readable and also still fun with more (probably bad and wrong) Italian. BUT I cleaned up the first scene for you <3

(also including my dumb actual working title) five times alberto swore like a rowdy fisherman and one time luca shut him the fuck up

translations for the ones that aren’t intuitive:

“Intro culo di mammata!” Alberto yells at the loud motorboat roaring past them, rocking the boat and splashing their faces with seafoam, sunlight dancing on the constellation of iridescent scales adorning their cheeks.

“Alberto!” he gasps, mortified, after shaking off his scales. “You kiss Massimo with that mouth?”

“Ah-” Alberto shrinks in on himself like a deflating balloon and glances over at him with a sheepish grin. “I’m sorry?”

“Where’d you even learn to talk like that, mother of pearl, that’s- that’s the most obscene thing I’ve ever heard.”

Alberto scoffs and absent-mindedly continues pulling up the net. “Trust me, Massimo isn’t as clean as you think he is. He swears like a motherfucker.”

“Alberto!”

“The other fishermen around here are even worse, I might’ve picked up a bit too much from those sons of bitches.”

“Porco miseria, Alberto!” The expletive, though it can barely be called that compared to the usual barrage of filth running down at the docks, catches his attention. His Luca? He turns slack-jawed to him. “You kiss me with that mouth?” Luca asks quietly with a small pout.

“Oh- oh- Luca, mi dispiace, mio bellissimo angioletto, I’m sorry. I’ll tone it down.” The ridiculous stream of sweet talk has him blowing an annoyed raspberry to hide his smile. Alberto goes in for a kiss but Luca turns at the last second, his lips bumping against his cheek with an offended grunt.

“Wash it first… bastardo,” he says with a coy little grin and it’s then and there that Alberto decides he’s gonna spend the summer teaching his boyfriend how to swear like a good old-fashioned sailor. He splashes his mouth with seawater and pulls a stupid fishy grimace that Luca can’t resist kissing.
